OPEN LOOP POLYPECTOMY SYSTEM
Embodiments of this invention relate to endoscopic and laparoscopic surgical instruments. More specifically, embodiments of this invention relate to an open loop polypectomy system including a means for securely closing the loop. In some embodiments, the open loop polypectomy system comprises a snare wire and a capture mechanism wherein, when the snare wire is advanced, the snare wire extends from a distal portion of the open loop polypectomy system along a path passing through the capture mechanism. After the snare wire has advanced through the plane of the capture mechanism, retraction of the capture mechanism secures the snare wire, creating a formed loop around a target tissue. Retraction of at least one of the snare wire and capture mechanism contracts the formed loop, resecting the target tissue.
Sterile field interactive control displays
An interactive control unit is disclosed. The interactive control unit includes an interactive touchscreen display, an interface configured to couple the control unit to a surgical hub, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to receive input commands from the interactive touchscreen display located inside a sterile field and transmit the input commands to the surgical hub to control devices coupled to the surgical hub located outside the sterile field.
INTERVENTIONAL MEDICAL DEVICE RETRIEVAL
A system for retrieving an implanted medical device includes an outer tubular member and a contractible super-elastic net, which may be joined to an elongate shaft that extends in sliding engagement within the outer tubular member. When the net expands from a contracted condition the net defines a longitudinally extending tubular cavity. An open end of the cavity is sized to receive passage of a housing of the device therethrough; and the net, with the device housing contained therein, forms an interference fit within an inner diameter of the outer tubular member. But, an outer diameter of the net, in a fully expanded condition, is larger than the inner diameter.
Expandable tissue engagement apparatus and method
A system and associated method for manipulating tissues and anatomical or other structures in medical applications for the purpose of treating diseases or disorders or other purposes. In one aspect, the system includes an expandable structure for enhancing engagement with median lobe prostate tissue.
Device, system, and method for transcatheter treatment of valvular regurgitation
The invention relates to a device for use in the transcatheter treatment of mitral valve regurgitation, specifically a coaptation assistance element for implantation across the valve; a system including the coaptation assistance element and anchors for implantation; a system including the coaptation assistance element and delivery catheter; and a method for transcatheter implantation of a coaptation element across a heart valve.
POSTERIOR MITRAL VALVE LEAFLET APPROXIMATION
The present disclosure provides embodiments of a method for improving coaptation of the anterior and posterior mitral valve leaflets by applying a remodeling force to the posterior leaflet. In particular embodiments, a tension member is secured at a location on or proximate to the posterior leaflet. Tension can be applied to the tension member in a direction superiorly and anteriorly toward the interatrial septum. The tension member can be secured at a location proximate the septum to maintain the tension. The tension provides the remodeling force, pulling the posterior leaflet superiorly and anteriorly to improve coaptation with the anterior leaflet.
IMPLANTATION CATHETER AND IMPLANTATION CATHETER ARRANGEMENT FOR HANDLING AN IMPLANT
An implantation catheter for implanting an implant into a human or animal body, comprises a first catheter shaft and a holding element being arranged at a distal end of the first catheter shaft, the holding element being configured for holding and releasing the implant. The holding element comprises a shape memory element.
VIBRATING MEDICAL DEVICE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF RETRIEVING EMBEDDED IMPLANTABLE DEVICE
An implanted device, such as an inferior vena cava filter, that is partially embedded in soft tissue is retrieved by coupling a vibration device to the implanted device. The implanted device is disembedded from the soft tissue at least in part by generating a vibration with a vibration generator, transmitting the vibration along the vibration transmission apparatus to the implanted device, and vibrating the implanted device. The implanted device is then moved away from the embedding site. A medical device assembly includes the vibration generator, the implantable device and the vibration transmission apparatus.
SNARE
Disclosed herein is a snare. The snare includes: a tube injected into a body; a wire movably inserted into the tube; a noose joined to a leading end of the wire and ablating a polyp as an internal area expands or contracts by passing through an end of the tube; and at least one identification marker formed along the noose.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR REMOVING MATERIAL FROM A PATIENT
A containing element is used to capture material in a blood vessel for removal. The containing element is positioned within a constraining catheter while it is advanced through the blood vessel. A filament is coupled to the containing element which assists in opening and/or closing the containing element.
