Surgical rib retractor
A surgical rib retractor is disclosed. The surgical rib retractor has a housing and a body pivotably coupled to the housing and movable between a closed position and an open position. The surgical rib retractor further has a first arm unit pivotably coupled to the first shoulder and configured to receive one rib. The first arm unit may include a first arm, and a first strut movable relative to the first arm in a first plane defined by the first arm. The surgical rib retractor also has a second arm unit pivotably coupled to the second shoulder and configured to receive another rib. The second arm unit may include a second arm and a second strut movable relative to the second arm in a second plane define by the second arm, where the second plane is not parallel to the first plane when the body is in the closed position.
Interfragmentary guide and plate system
A plating system includes a bone plate including an aperture. A locking member is receivable in the aperture to attach the bone plate to a joint. The plating system includes a guide including a body having a first end portion, a second end portion, an attachment portion attached to the bone plate, and a rotating portion including a sleeve to receive a drill or a guide wire. The first end portion of the body is rotationally connected to the attachment portion to pivot the body about a first axis to move the sleeve, and the rotating portion is rotationally connected to the second end portion of the body of the guide to pivot the rotating portion about a second axis to move the sleeve. The rotating portion translates along the second axis to move the sleeve, and the sleeve defines one of a plurality of trajectories.
POWERED STAPLING DEVICE WITH RACK RELEASE
A powered handle assembly includes a motor assembly, a rack, a shaft, and a pinion that couples the motor assembly to the rack. The shaft supports the pinion and is movable to move the pinion from a first position engaged with the rack to a second position disengaged from the rack to facilitate manual retraction of the rack.
POWERED STAPLING DEVICE WITH MANUAL RETRACTION
A powered handle assembly includes a motor assembly, a rack, a spur gear, and a manual retract mechanism. The spur gear is movable from a position engaged with the motor assembly and the rack to a positioned disengaged from the motor assembly and engaged with the rack to facilitate manual retraction of the rack.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT CONNECTORS AND RELATED METHODS
Connectors for connecting or linking one instrument or object to one or more other instruments or objects are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a connector can include a first arm with a first attachment feature for attaching to a first object, such as a surgical access device, and a second arm with a second attachment feature for attaching to a second object, such as a support. The connector can have an unlocked state, in which the position and orientation of the access device can be adjusted relative to the support, and a locked state in which movement of the access device relative to the support is prevented or limited. Locking the connector can also be effective to clamp or otherwise attach the connector to the access device and the support, or said attachment can be independent of the locking of the connector.
Surgical clip applier and method of assembly
Surgical clip appliers are provided and includes a channel assembly extending distally from a housing; a clip carrier disposed within said channel assembly and defining a channel and a plurality of windows therein; a plurality of clips slidably disposed within said channel of said clip carrier; a wedge plate reciprocally disposed within said channel assembly, said wedge plate being operatively connected to said handles and including a plurality of apertures formed along a length thereof; and a clip follower slidably disposed within said channel of said clip carrier and disposed proximally of said plurality of clips, said clip follower being configured and adapted for selective engagement with said windows of said clip carrier and said apertures of said wedge plate. The clip follower is configured and adapted to urge said plurality of clips, in a distal direction relative to said clip carrier, upon reciprocal movement of said wedge plate.
DUAL FIRING RADIAL STAPLING DEVICE
A surgical stapling device includes a cartridge assembly and a firing assembly. The cartridge assembly includes a cartridge body defining a central knife slot and rows of staple receiving pockets positioned on each side of the central knife slot. Each of the staple receiving slots receives one of the staples. The firing assembly includes a first firing device and a second firing device. The first firing device is movable from a retracted position to an advanced position independently of the second firing device to eject some of the staples on both sides of the central knife slot from the cartridge body, and the second firing device is subsequently movable from a retracted position to an advanced position to eject the staples remaining in the cartridge body from the cartridge body.
Clamping retractor assembly
An assembly for retracting soft tissue in a surgical incision is provided, the assembly including a supporting member having first and second ends; a retractor blade having a first distal end and a second proximal end retained at the first end of the support member; a retaining arm which co-operates with the support member and receives and supports a clamping assembly; and an adjusting assembly which engages the support member and allows the clamping assembly to advance and retract relative to the retractor blade.
Pull wire for vascular intervention device delivery system
A vascular intervention device delivery system includes a catheter with a proximal end attached to a handle, and a distal carrier segment for mounting a vascular intervention device thereon. A retractable sheath is movable from a first position covering the distal carrier segment to a second position retracted proximally uncovering the distal carrier segment. A pull is attached to the retractable sheath and extends proximally from the retractable sheath toward the handle. A majority of the length of the pull has a cross sectional shape with a concave side that faces the longitudinal axis and is opposite to a convex side that faces away from the longitudinal axis. The cross sectional shape has a width that is greater than a thickness.
