Systems and methods for ultrasonically-assisted placement of orthopedic implants
11786259 · 2023-10-17 · ·

Systems and methods for ultrasonically-assisted placement of orthopedic implants is described herein. An example method may comprise delivering ultrasonic energy to a surgical instrument such as a screw driver, Jamshidi needle, awl, probe, or tap that is in contact with the bone region targeted for removal and/or being prepared for implant placement. The method may further comprise delivering the ultrasonic energy via a probe passed through a cannulated surgical instrument and/or implant. An example system may comprise an ultrasonic generator coupled to a transducer, a probe or surgical instrument coupled to the transducer, a cannulated surgical instrument that allows passage of the probe, and a computing device configured to control the ultrasonic generator and take input from the user.

Systems and associated methods for ultrasonically-assisted placement of orthopedic implants are described herein. An example system includes an ultrasonic generator, a transducer, and a probe, surgical instrument, and/or an implant. Ultrasonic energy can be delivered to a region of a bone using the system to remove a portion of the bone.

POWER-ASSISTED LIPOSUCTION DEVICE
20220211412 · 2022-07-07 ·

The present invention relates to a power-assisted liposuction device. The power-assisted liposuction device includes: a handpiece; a motor mounted inside the handpiece and connected with a power source to provide driving force; a reverse cam of which one end is connected to the motor; and a cannula connected to the other end of the reverse cam. The reverse cam converts a rotary motion of the motor into a linear reciprocating motion so that the cannula performs a reciprocating motion when the motor is operated.

END-POINT DETECTION METHOD AND MEDICAL DEVICE CONTROLLER AND TREATMENT SYSTEM WITH END-POINT DETECTION, PARTICULARLY FOR ELECTROSURGERY

A method for controlling a medical device for treating a biological tissue includes controlling the treatment procedure based on the heat capacity of the biological tissue being treated as observed by the medical device. A change in the rate of change of heat capacity from a decreasing rate to an increasing rate or exceeding a maximum threshold value of rate of change of the heat capacity indicates completion, e.g., cutting or sealing. The heat capacity of the biological tissue may be estimated by determining a ratio of energy input to an end-effector of the medical device over a sampling interval to a change in temperature of the biological tissue over that sampling interval. The method may be incorporated into a controller for a medical device for treating a biological tissue.

TUBE BODY CLEANING APPARATUS

The present invention provides a tube body cleaning apparatus. A tube body cleaning apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a body having a set length and formed from a flexible material; a work member positioned at one point of the length direction of the body and rotatable, about a shaft provided in the length direction of the body, with respect to the body; and an expansion member positioned at one point of the length direction of the body and enabling a volume, which protrudes outward from the body, to increase by expanding.

CONTROL END OF SURGICAL INSTRUMENT AND SURGICAL INSTRUMENT HAVING THE CONTROL END

The present disclosure discloses a control end of a surgical instrument, which comprises a housing and a power assembly, the housing comprises a first body and a second body, a first cavity for accommodating the power assembly is provided between the first body and the second body, and the power assembly is detachably mounted in the first cavity.

ARTHROSCOPIC DEVICES AND METHODS

A medical device includes an elongated sleeve having a longitudinal axis, a proximal end and a distal end. A ceramic cutting member includes both a cutting window having sharp edges and one or more flutes with cutting burrs circumferentially spaced-apart from the cutting window. An electrode may be placed between a pair of flutes and opposite to the cutting window. A motor drive is coupled to the proximal end of the elongated sleeve to rotate the ceramic cutting member cut bone with the flute(s) and soft tissue with the cutting window. The electrode provides cautery or radiofrequency ablation of tissue when the sleeve and ceramic cutting member are not being rotated.

DETACHABLE MOTOR POWERED SURGICAL INSTRUMENT

A detachable motor-powered surgical instrument. The instrument may include a housing that includes at least one engagement member for removably attaching the housing to an actuator arrangement. A motor is supported within the housing for supplying actuation motions to various portions of a surgical end effector coupled to the housing. The housing may include a contact arrangement that is configured to permit power to be supplied to the motor only when the housing is operably attached to the actuator arrangement.

Aneurysm Neck Bridge with a Closeable Opening or Lumen Through Which Embolic Material is Inserted into the Aneurysm Sac
20210236139 · 2021-08-05 · ·

This intrasacular aneurysm occlusion device includes a neck bridge with a closeable opening through which embolic material is inserted into an aneurysm sac. After the neck bridge has been expanded within the aneurysm sac, a catheter is inserted through the opening and embolic material is delivered through the catheter into the aneurysm sac. After the aneurysm sac has been filled with embolic material, the catheter is then withdrawn and the opening is closed so that embolic material does not escape out of the aneurysm sac.
