Apparatus and methods for tissue closure
Apparatus and methods are provided for treating a tissue opening, for example a trocar opening used in a minimally invasive surgical procedure. In a tissue closure device, a finger guard or shield can be used, handle or holding area or areas can be used, and positioning indicators can be used. A resiliently flexible target material can also be used for reliably holding a suture during the procedure. The resiliently flexible target material may be included as part of a removable mating component for use with a movable wing. Introducers can be used having a suture holder, an alignment indicator and insertion limits.
Separable instrument driver handle
An orthopaedic driver handle including a drivetrain having a driving end and a driven end opposite the driving end and defining a longitudinal axis, and a separable housing covering at least a portion of the drivetrain. The separable housing includes a first portion and a second portion separably connected to the first portion such that sliding the first portion relative to the second portion in a direction of the longitudinal axis unlocks the first portion from the second portion.
Depth control for electrosurgical electrode
One embodiment of the present invention relates to an electrosurgical handpiece that has a first main body and a second main body. A squeezable handle connects to and across the first main body and the second main body such that, when the handle is unsqueezed, the first main body and the second main body assume a first position relative to one another. When the handle is squeezed, the first main body and the second main body assumes a second position relative to one another. An active electrosurgical electrode is slidingly mounted within the second main body and extends from the second end. A spacer is positioned around and in sliding engagement with the smaller diameter region of the first main body.
Multi-purpose screwdriver and method of use
A driver includes a sleeve having an inner surface defining a passageway. The sleeve extends along a longitudinal axis between a proximal end and an opposite distal end. The proximal end includes a groove in the inner surface. A biasing element is positioned partially in the groove. A shaft is disposed in the passageway. The shaft includes an outer surface, a first engagement portion, and a second engagement portion.
VERTEBRAL JOINT IMPLANTS AND DELIVERY TOOLS
A spinal joint distraction system for treating a facet joint including articular surfaces having a contour is disclosed and may include a delivery device including a generally tubular structure adapted to engage a facet joint, an implant adapted to be delivered through the delivery device and into the facet joint, the implant comprising two members arranged in opposed position, and an implant distractor comprising a generally elongate member adapted to advance between the two members of the implant causing separation of the members and distraction of the facet joint, wherein the implant is adapted to conform to the shape of the implant distractor and/or the articular surfaces of the facet upon being delivered to the facet joint. Several embodiments of a system, several embodiments of an implant, and several methods are disclosed including a method for interbody fusion.
MEDICAL OBSERVATION APPARATUS AND MEDICAL OBSERVATION SYSTEM
A medical observation apparatus includes: a camera including a first imager including a plurality of pixels and configured to image a first medical captured-image in which an observation target is imaged, and a second imager including a plurality of pixels, and configured to image a second medical captured-image in which the observation target is imaged, the second imager including more effective pixels than the first imager; and a display controller configured to cause displays to display the first medical captured-image and an image that corresponds to a region set to the second medical captured-image on a display screen of the respective one of the displays corresponding thereto, wherein one of the first medical captured-image and the second medical captured-image is a medical captured image for a right eye, and another one of the first medical captured-image and the second medical captured-image is a medical captured image for a left eye.

END EFFECTOR WITH STAPLE CARTRIDGE EJECTOR
An end effector for a surgical stapling device includes an anvil, a multiple use loading unit, and an ejector assembly. The multiple use loading unit is pivotally secured to the anvil and includes a channel member defining a cavity and a staple cartridge received within the cavity. The staple cartridge has a distal portion having an angled lower surface. The ejector assembly includes an ejector button that is supported on the channel member and engages the angled lower surface of the staple cartridge such that movement of the ejector button from an advanced position to a retracted position in relation to the channel member lifts the distal portion of the staple cartridge from the cavity of the channel member.
