Methods and systems for the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome
Described here are methods and systems for the manipulation of ovarian tissues. The methods and systems may be used in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The systems and methods may be useful in the treatment of infertility associated with PCOS.
Surgical instrument comprising a signal interference resolution system
A surgical instrument including a signal interference detection system.
Surgical Device For Use With Surgical Tool
A surgical device is disclosed for attachment to a body of a surgical tool usable to manipulate a desired tissue in a surgical site within a patient, the surgical device may include a housing with at least one each of a projecting device, an imaging device and/or an illuminating device. The housing may be removably attachable to the body in an operatively-aligned orientation relative to the body. The projecting device(s) may emit an optical targeting marker from the exit port in a targeting direction onto the surgical site. The illuminating device(s) may illuminate the surgical site. The one imaging device(s) may obtaining an image of the surgical site.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH SUCTION CONTROL
A surgical device includes an outer member, an inner member, and at least one locking element. The inner member is at least partially supported within the outer member. The at least one locking element is configured in a first arrangement of the surgical device to lock the inner member in a first position and configured in a second arrangement of the surgical device to unlock the inner member from the first position. The at least one locking element is configured to change from the first arrangement to the second arrangement upon coupling the inner member in an operational arrangement to a hand piece.
Suture Passing Instrumentation and Methods of Use Thereof
The instant disclosure is directed to methods and devices for passing suture bi-directionally using a hybrid approach. Embodiments of a method described herein include steps of advancing a suture at least partially through tissue; and retrieving the suture; wherein one of the steps of advancing and retrieving comprises manipulating the suture directly, and wherein the other step of advancing and retrieving comprises manipulating a suture trap to which the suture is coupled. Embodiments of a device that may be used to practice the method embodiments include a bi-directional suture passer having a proximal portion for holding a portion of a suture therein; a distal tip coupled to the proximal portion and defining a tissue receiving gap there-between; a reciprocally moveable suture passing member housed within the proximal portion for translating the suture portion between the proximal portion and the distal tip; and a knot carrier for indirectly coupling a knot to the device.
INTRAVASCULAR LITHOTRIPSY
A medical device may include an elongated body, a balloon positioned at a distal portion of the elongated body, and one or more pressure-wave emitters positioned along a central longitudinal axis of the elongated body within the balloon. The one or more pressure-wave emitters may be configured to propagate pressure waves radially outward through the fluid to fragment a calcified lesion at the target treatment site. The at least one of the one or more pressure-wave emitters may include an electronic emitter comprising a first electrode and a second electrode. The first electrode and the second electrode may be arranged to define a spark gap between the first electrode and the second electrode, and the second electrode may comprise a portion of a hypotube.
SCISSOR SLEEVE ASSEMBLY PROTECTION
A sleeve extractor includes a cylindrical body having a distal end and a proximal end, one or more longitudinally-extending fingers defined in the body, and a tab provided on an end of each finger and receivable within a notch defined in a shaft adapter or a shaft of a surgical tool, the notch being located proximal to a proximal end of a sleeve. The sleeve is removed by locating the tab of each finger in a corresponding notch and retracting the body and the sleeve distally relative to the shaft adapter or the shaft.
METHOD OF USING A SURGICAL MODULAR ROBOTIC ASSEMBLY
A method of using a surgical modular robotic assembly including an interchangeable motor pack, a hand-held surgical instrument, and a robotic surgical instrument is disclosed. The method includes releasably attaching an interface portion of the interchangeable motor pack to the hand-held surgical instrument, causing the interchangeable motor pack to drive a first surgical tool of the hand-held surgical instrument, stopping the interchangeable motor pack from driving the first surgical tool, disconnecting the interface portion from the hand-held surgical instrument, and releasably attaching the interface portion of the interchangeable motor pack to the robotic surgical instrument.
Rotational position determination apparatus
A rotational position determination apparatus is configured to determine an entry rotational position, which defines a rotational position of an insertion device like a stent at an entry site, such that a navigation of the insertion device from the entry site to a target site along an inner path results in a rotational position of the insertion device at the target site being equal to a desired target rotational position based on a representation of the inner path and the desired target rotational position. If the insertion device is arranged in the determined entry rotational position at the entry site and then navigated to the target site, it is therefore not necessary to rotate the insertion device at the target site.
ULTRASONIC SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH REMOVABLE HANDLE ASSEMBLY
An apparatus comprises a body and a shaft assembly. The shaft assembly is configured to couple with the body such that the shaft assembly extends distally relative to the body. The shaft assembly comprises a tubular member, an acoustic waveguide, and a guiding member. The acoustic waveguide is operable to selectively couple with an ultrasonic transducer assembly. The tubular member is configured to insertingly receive the acoustic waveguide. The acoustic waveguide comprises a guide feature. The guiding member is configured to engage the guide feature of the acoustic waveguide and thereby orient the acoustic waveguide in relation to the tubular member.
