Apparatus and methods for tissue closure
Apparatus and methods are provided for treating a tissue opening, for example a trocar opening used in a minimally invasive surgical procedure. In a tissue closure device, a finger guard or shield can be used, handle or holding area or areas can be used, and positioning indicators can be used. A resiliently flexible target material can also be used for reliably holding a suture during the procedure. The resiliently flexible target material may be included as part of a removable mating component for use with a movable wing. Introducers can be used having a suture holder, an alignment indicator and insertion limits.
CUTTING TOOL FOR THE HORIZONTAL INCISION OF A TENDON
Various implementations include a cutting tool for the horizontal incision of tendons. The tool comprises a stem extending along a longitudinal axis, having a distal end, a proximal end and a cutting head, located close to said distal end, having a base plate, having a longitudinal extension axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the stem, and a blade extending on a plane parallel to the base plate. The blade has a plurality of cutting edges inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cutting head according to different angles, so as to identify at least two vertices defined by two V-shaped profiles.
TOOL FOR THE SUBCUTANEOUS CUTTING OF TENDONS
Various implementations include a tool for the subcutaneous cutting of tendons. The tool includes a shaft, arranged along a longitudinal axis, having a proximal end and a distal end, a grip, provided at the proximal end, comprising a fixed handle and a movable trigger, and a cutting head placed at the distal end, which comprises a tendon harvesting tip provided with a groove and a blade. The blade and the harvesting tip are movable relative to each other on a plane which contains the longitudinal axis of the shaft. The blade is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of said shaft.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF ENDOSCOPIC INSTRUMENTS WITH ARTICULATING END
An endoscopic instrument (312, 820, 824) includes an outer tubing (206) extending from a proximal tubing end to a distal tubing end, a flexible torque component (200) extending through the outer tubing, an articulation assembly (400, 500, 600, 700, 828), and an end effector (450, 550, 650, 750, 824). The articulation assembly (400, 500, 600, 700, 828) is coupled to the distal tubing end and includes a plurality of segments (404, 408, 504, 604, 704) and at least one control member (412, 512, 612, 712) extending from a proximal control end to a distal control end coupled with the plurality of segments. The control member manipulates an orientation of at least one segment of the plurality of segments responsive to receiving a control input at the proximal control end. The end effector (450, 550, 650, 750, 824) is coupled to a distal end of the flexible torque component such that manipulating the orientation (516, 616, 620) of the at least one segment controls an orientation of the end effector (450, 550, 650, 750, 824) relative to the outer tubing (206) and rotation of the flexible torque component (200) controls an angle of rotation of the end effector relative (450, 550, 650, 750, 824) to the outer tubing (206).
SURGICAL KIT FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE SPINE SURGERY
The invention relates to a surgical kit, for performing minimally invasive spine surgery. The surgical kit comprises a position detection system, configured for detecting position and orientation of localizers from received sensor signals in the position detection system's coordinate system. The surgical kit also comprises a sensor carrier, configured to be removably arranged in a lumen of a medical instrument, the sensor carrier having at least two localizers, the localizers each being configured for providing a sensor signal representing position and orientation of the respective localizer. Furthermore, the surgical kit comprises a plurality of medical instruments having a lumen in which the sensor carrier can be removably arranged for connecting the respective medical instrument to the position detection system.
INDEXING DOSE DISPENSING DEVICE
A dispensing device is disclosed which provides for dispensing multiple doses from a cylindrical volume. An actuator button moves a tooth to engage a series of links which move a stopper to dispense the doses.
SURGICAL HANDPIECE, LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS, AND ASPIRATION APPARATUS
A surgical handpiece includes a housing gripped by a user, and an aspiration pipe that is attachably and detachably held by the housing and aspirates a liquid.
Serrated forceps
A forceps comprising a first jaw and a second jaw arranged along a longitudinal axis of the forceps for relative movement toward and away from one another. The first and second forceps jaws have respective first and second jaw surfaces facing each other. The first and second jaw surfaces have a serrated surface texture at least on a distal part thereof. A serration direction of the serrated surface texture is at an angle which is non-perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, resulting in additional profile structure elements at a tip portion surface, allowing to handle and manipulate fine tissue materials such as membranes in an eye.
ANCHORING MEMBER SUITABLE FOR USE IN A POLYAXIAL BONE ANCHORING DEVICE AND POLYAXIAL BONE ANCHORING DEVICE WITH AN ENLARGED PIVOT ANGLE TO ONE SIDE
An anchoring member is provided suitable for use in a polyaxial bone anchoring device, the anchoring member (1) comprising a bone anchoring section (2) with a bone engagement structure in at least a portion of an outer surface thereof; a head (3); a central axis (C) extending through a center of the head (3) and the bone anchoring section (2), and a neck portion (24; 24′; 24″; 24′″) between the bone anchoring section and the head, wherein the neck portion is asymmetric with respect to the central axis (C); and wherein the bone anchoring section (2) has a contour in a circumferential direction adjacent to the neck portion and wherein the neck portion is at least partially recessed with respect to the contour of the bone anchoring section at one side and extends beyond the contour of the bone anchoring section at an opposite side from the central axis.
