Pursestring suture retractor and method of use
Systems, devices, and methods for endoscopically retracting a target tissue. The device includes a first shaft and a second shaft slidably coupled thereto. An internal member extends in a transverse direction from the first shaft and is configured for advancement through a penetration in the target tissue to atraumatically engage a distal surface of the target tissue after being advanced therethrough. A pair of external members extend from the second shaft generally parallel to the transverse direction. The external members are spaced apart and are configured to atraumatically engage a proximal surface of the target tissue when the internal member is moved longitudinally relative to the external members. The internal member applies traction to the target tissue when retracted past the pair of external members, which apply counter-traction to the target tissue on opposing lateral sides of the internal member, to re-shape the target tissue and enable subsequent suture placement.
Puncture Core Assembly and Puncture Device with Puncture Core Assembly
Provided in the present disclosure is a puncture core assembly, comprising an operating assembly, a puncture core rod, and a puncture tip used for puncturing human tissue so as to form a puncture opening. The operating assembly is manipulated to generate a driving force. The puncture core rod comprises a transmission assembly and an execution assembly. The transmission assembly transmits the driving force. The execution assembly has a suture actuator, and also has a positioning assembly, a suture assembly, a suture thread release assembly, and a suture needle fixing assembly, which are used to perform positioning when suturing the puncture opening, suture out a needle, release a suture thread, and receive and hold the suture needle respectively.
Suture Line Release Mechanism, Puncturing Core Component, Puncture Outfit, and Use Method thereof
The present disclosure provides a suture line release mechanism, the puncture core assembly, a puncture device, and a use method of the puncture device. The suture line release mechanism includes a release execution component; the release execution component includes a fixing member and a puncturing tip the puncturing tip is provided with a receiving part; the release execution component has an initial state and a release state; in the initial state, a part of the fixing member is received in the receiving part, and a closed suture line receiving space is formed between the puncturing tip and the part of the fixing member; in the release state, the suture line receiving space is exposed.
Abdominal closure method and device variations
Abdominal closure reinforcement methods and tissue anchoring devices for reducing the rate of abdominal wall closure dehiscence are described. The tissue anchors avoid a permanent footprint of foreign material and precluding materials spanning the interior layer of the abdominal closure where risk to visceral structures exists.
DUAL INSUFFLATION AND WOUND CLOSURE DEVICES AND METHODS
A dual functioning instrument set, comprising a needle and guide, has not only the capabilities to enter and insufflate the abdominal cavity but also the ability of a suture passer to carry and retrieve suture for closure of the incision sites at the end of the procedure. The needle contains a deployable snare that is used to pass and retrieve suture. The guide is used to repeatedly locate the needle relative to the inner abdominal wall allowing for consistent placement of sutures. For insufflation purposes, obturator tips having different distal structures are provided for shielding the sharp needle tip after insertion through a body wall.
Devices, systems, and methods for wound closure
A suture grasper for retrieving a suture from an internal surgical site includes an inner shaft defining a tissue-penetrating tip, an intermediate shaft disposed about the inner shaft, and an outer shaft disposed about the intermediate shaft. The intermediate shaft defines a plurality of spring fingers movable between a spread position, wherein the spring fingers extend radially outwardly from the inner shaft, and a compressed position, wherein the spring fingers are approximated about the inner shaft. The outer shaft is selectively translatable relative to the inner shaft and the intermediate shaft for moving the spring fingers between the spread position and the compressed position.
Surgical access device having a variable tissue approach angle
Surgical access devices having wound closure features incorporated as part of the device are provided. The devices allow suture to be inserted directly into the device and operated to close an opening through which the device is disposed as or shortly after the device is removed from the surgical site. Further, the wound closure features allow for various orientations of wound closure to be achieved by adjusting an angle at which the suture enters tissue surrounding the opening to be closed. Some of the wound closure features provided for include openings formed in both the housing and cannula of the surgical access device, multiple openings formed in one or both the housing and cannula, locations of the openings being adjustable or otherwise movable, and various flexible seals. Other features, as well as methods of closing an opening through which the surgical access device was disposed, are also provided.
Gastrocutaneous closure device
A gastrocutaneous closure device allows gastrocutaneous fistula closure from external abdominal access through the fistula site. Access through the fistula ensures accurate closure placement on the interior lumen wall of the stomach. A closure or clip has a plurality of prongs defined by a deformable material, such that the prongs extend radially from a central hub in an arcuate or curved, semicircular shape. The arcuate shape converges towards a central point or axis at a distal end, and the proximate end of the prongs attaches to the central hub such that the prongs radiate from the hub and the distal end curves back toward the axis through the hub. The deformable prongs may therefore radially compress or retract to define a larger or smaller diameter. The fistula lies on the axis such that the biased, inserted prongs pull the inner stomach wall closed around the healing fistula.
APPROXIMATING ANCHOR DEVICE
An approximating anchor device, corresponding kits, and methods for implementing the device are described herein. In one embodiment, the approximating anchor device includes a first cylindrical fastener defining a first set of cross lumens, each of the first set of cross lumens extending substantially perpendicular to a central axis of the first cylindrical fastener, a second cylindrical fastener defining a second set of cross lumens, each of the second set of cross lumens extending substantially perpendicular to a central axis of the second cylindrical fastener, and a string running through the first set of cross lumens of the first cylindrical fastener and the second set of cross lumens of the second cylindrical fastener. Tightening of the string will draw the first cylindrical fastener and the second cylindrical fastener towards each other.
CLEANING DEVICE FOR BLOOD VESSEL SEALING APPARATUS
A cleaner device is adapted to clean a blood vessel sealer device. The cleaner device includes a series of brushes that can move relative to blood vessel sealer device to scrub and clean the blood vessel sealer device when coupled to the cleaner device. The brushes can be made of any material that is adapted to clean the blood vessel sealer device. The cleaner device can also be motorized to facilitate cleaning of the blood vessel sealer device.
