SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING CARDIAC ABLATION PROCEDURES
A plurality of systems and methods for improving a cardiac ablation procedure are disclosed. The systems and methods include a cloud server that includes a database containing information about previously performed cardiac ablations, a local server that is communicatively coupled to the cloud server via first network, and a surgical system that is communicatively coupled to the local server via second network. The cloud server is configured to receive, via the local server, electrical and anatomical data of a heart of a patient from the surgical system, perform a comparison of the electrical and anatomical data of the heart to the database information, generate a surgical treatment plan for the heart based on the comparison, wherein the surgical treatment plan includes a grid of the heart, and transmit, via the local server, the surgical treatment plan to the surgical system.
Methods and apparatuses for fluoro-less or near fluoro-less percutaneous surgery access
A needle access assembly and method for obtaining percutaneous needle access with little or no fluoroscopy. The method can include selecting a target for percutaneous access, directing a laser guide at a desired needle-insertion angle and in line with the selected target, aligning the needle access assembly with the laser, and inserting the needle into the target.
CONTAINER FOR CATHETER SIMULATOR AND HEART MODEL ACCOMMODATED IN SAID CONTAINER
A container 10 for a catheter simulator comprising an accommodating unit 10a for accommodating a liquid, the accommodating unit 10a being defined by side walls 11 to 14 and a bottom face 15. On the side walls, there are formed connection units 11a and 11c capable of retaining any one of the heart models selected from a four-chamber heart model, a coronary artery model, and a TAVI model, the heart model being installed in the accommodating unit 10a in a state of having the accommodating unit filled with a liquid; and installation parts 11d, 12a, and 13a for inserting a catheter from the outside of the container into simulated blood vessels of the heart model.
DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A DEFECT IN MATERIAL AND/OR WORKMANSHIP OF AN INFLATABLE CUFF
The present invention relates to a device, system and method for detecting a defect in material and/or workmanship of an inflatable cuff. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a phantom arm device. The device for detecting a defect in material and/or workmanship of an inflatable cuff comprises a target pressure input configured to obtain a target pressure signal, the target pressure signal indicating a target pressure within the cuff; a sensor input configured to obtain a cuff pressure signal from a sensor configured to measure a pressure within the cuff, the cuff pressure signal indicating a pressure within the cuff; an output configured to output a warning signal; and a processing unit configured to analyze the cuff pressure signal and the target pressure signal, to detect the of the cuff based on said analysis, and to control the output to output the warning signal if the defect is detected.
PROSTHETIC GAP REFERENCE SYSTEM AND METHOD
Systems, kits, and methods are provided that may be used to assess a prosthetic gap in a resected joint, including an angular alignment of the resected bone surfaces in the joint. A system can comprise a reference spacer assembly comprising a spacer body with an elongated handle and one or two reference spacer plates. A kit can comprise a plurality of spacer bodies and reference spacer plates that can be selected and assembled by an operator to modularly produce assembled reference spacer devices having a range of different configurations. Methods for assessing a prosthetic gap, including a prosthetic gap dimension, a prosthetic gap symmetry, a tibial resection posterior slope, and a distal femoral resection angle, are also provided.
HUMERAL TRIAL ADAPTOR
Disclosed herein are orthopedic trialing systems including a stem, an adaptor and a trial member. The stem may be a trial or implant stem. The trial member may be a cup or head. The adaptor is used to account for the difference in the coupling of the trial member and stem and an implant member and stem. The stem has a first coupling feature and a shaft portion adapted to be received in a canal of a bone of a patient. The adaptor has planar top and bottom surfaces and at least one aperture therethrough. The trial member has a second coupling feature, wherein one of the first and second coupling features of either the trial member or stem extends through the aperture of the adaptor and at least partially into the other of the first and second coupling features for coupling together the trial member, the adaptor and the stem.
Robotic surgery systems and surgical guidance methods thereof
The invention in its various embodiments relates to a method of providing surgical guidance and targeting in robotic surgery systems. The method utilizes data from a navigation system in tandem with 2-dimensional (2D) intra-operative imaging data. 2D intra-operative image data is superimposed with a pre-operative 3-dimensional (3D) image and surgery plans made in the pre-operative image coordinate system. The superimposition augments real-time intraoperative navigation for achieving image guided surgery in robotic surgery systems. Also, a robotic surgery system that incorporates the method of providing surgical guidance and targeting is disclosed. The advantages include minimizing radiation exposure to a patient by avoiding intra-operative volumetric imaging, mobility of tools, imager and robot in and out of the operating space without the need for re-calibration, and relaxing the need for repeating precise imaging positions.
