Applicator instruments having stacked surgical fasteners for off-axis surgical fastener delivery
An applicator instrument for dispensing surgical fasteners includes a housing, and an elongated shaft extending from the housing. The elongated shaft has a proximal end secured to the housing, a distal end spaced from the proximal end, and a first axis extending between the proximal and distal ends of the elongated shaft. Surgical fasteners are disposed in the elongated shaft. The surgical fasteners are stacked at an angle relative to the first axis of the elongated shaft. A distal end cap having a surgical fastener dispensing window is secured to the distal end of the elongated shaft. The applicator instrument has a firing system disposed in the housing, and an actuator coupled with the firing system for activating the firing system to dispense the surgical fasteners through the surgical fastener dispensing window.
Device for pacemaker lead placement and methods thereof
A device for pacemaker lead placement is disclosed. The device has a device tip having a tissue bite area, ferrule holders, and needle tips. The device also has a lead end rest at the distal end, with a pacemaker lead end situated on the lead end rest, the pacemaker lead end having first and second anchor suture holes. The device further has an anchor suture with ferrules at respective ends of the anchor suture, wherein the ferrules of the anchor suture are passed through the anchor suture holes and into communication with the ferrule holders. The device further has one or more tube guides configured to organize and manage sutures during a minimally invasive surgical procedure.
Colpotomy cup assembly
A medical device for performing a hysterectomy is provided. The medical device has a tissue incision assembly that includes a first cup nested within a second cup. The tissue incision assembly also includes a spacer assembly between the first cup and the second cup in order to maintain a spacing between the first and second cups. The tissue incision assembly also has a cutting implement that has a portion extending between, and movable with respect to, the first and second cups. The cutting implement can provide a circular cut guided via the spacing between the first and second cups.
ARTICULATING MICROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT
An apparatus and method for an articulating microsurgical instrument is disclosed herein. The articulating microsurgical instrument may be configured to be operable with a Doppler probe, bone grasper, soft tissue grasper/dissector, scissors, flexible forceps, or a suction/irrigation line configured to provide tools within a surgical location that can be adjusted to a desired angle of operation. A tip assembly may comprise an articulating portion at a distal tip and the articulating portion may be configured to deflect upon actuation of an articulation control. The articulation control may be a trigger assembly or a roller wheel. A bayonet-style handle may include a set of posts configured to interact with the one or more control wires during actuation of the articulation control. One or more control wires may be housed in a lumen and actuated using a articulation control of a handle assembly.
SURGICAL STAPLER WITH TOGGLING DISTAL TIP
A surgical instrument end effector includes a first jaw configured to receive a staple cartridge and a second jaw that includes an anvil having a plurality of staple forming pockets. The first and second jaws are operable to clamp and staple tissue positioned therebetween. A tip member is movably disposed at a distal end of the anvil and is configured to toggle relative to the anvil between a first discrete position and a second discrete position. The tip member in the first discrete position is oriented angularly toward the first jaw, and the tip member in the second discrete position is oriented angularly away from the first discrete position.
FORCE SENSING FOR ROBOTICALLY CONTROLLED UTERINE MANIPULATOR
An apparatus includes a base portion configured to selectively couple with a robotic arm. A shaft extends distally form the base portion and terminates into a distal end. A sleeve is slidably coupled to the shaft. A colpotomy cup is fixedly secured to a portion of the sleeve. One or more sensors are configured to detect a force applied to the sleeve, the shaft, or both the sleeve and the shaft.
AUTOMATIC REMOTE CENTER OF MOTION ADJUSTMENT FOR ROBOTICALLY CONTROLLED UTERINE MANIPULATOR
An apparatus includes a base portion configured to selectively couple with a robotic arm. A shaft extends distally form the base portion and terminating into a distal end. A sleeve is slidably coupled to the shaft. A colpotomy cup is fixedly secured to a portion of the sleeve. A plurality of sensors are configured to locate the position of the sleeve relative to one or more anatomical features of a patient. The sensors are further configured to locate the position of the sleeve relative to the shaft.
TREATMENT DEVICE AND ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM
A treatment device includes a shaft extending along a longitudinal axis and including a plurality of segments arranged along the longitudinal axis, a treatment portion at a distal-end side of the shaft, an operation portion at a proximal-end side of the shaft, and an imaging device. A first segment of the plurality of segments is at the distal-end side of a second segment of the plurality of segments and is rotatably attached to the second segment at a first pivot point. The imaging device is provided in the second segment. The first segment is rotatable about the first pivot point relative to the second segment such that a longitudinal axis of the first segment intersects a longitudinal axis of the second segment at a first angle and at least a part of the treatment portion enters a field of view of the imaging device.
NEURO STIMULATOR ARRANGMENTS
A neuro stimulator adapter for a tissue removal device is disclosed. In certain arrangements, the adapter includes an engagement sleeve and a hub. The engagement sleeve is fixedly connected to a portion of the hub. In certain arrangements, the hub further has a contact assembly disposed therein, the contact assembly configured to be connected to an electrical source to deliver neurostimlation to the tissue removal device at a distal end thereof.
