Methods of manufacturing such baskets out of a single tube of a memory metal without the need for any welding or soldering, and methods of use are also disclosed.

TRANSECTION DEVICE
20170333067 · 2017-11-23 ·

A transection device including a hollow tubular body extending from a proximal end to a distal end. A plurality of stabilizing members extend from the distal end of the tubular body and define a reduced diameter opening into a receiving chamber adjacent the distal end of the tubular body. A blade is positioned within the tubular body and moveable between an initial position within the tubular body to an extended position wherein at least a portion of the blade extends into the receiving chamber. A depressible member extends from the proximal end and is configured to move the blade between the initial position and the extended position. A compression member may be positioned between the plunger member and the blade.

VASCULAR CLOSURE DEVICE

Described herein are systems, devices, and methods for closing a perforation in any hollow vessel associated with a mammalian surgical procedure, for example a device for sealing an aperture in a tissue, the device comprising an implant and a delivery shaft configured to engage the implant, the delivery shaft comprising (i) a retaining sleeve, (ii) a release sleeve, and (iii) a handle coupled to the delivery shaft.

TEMPORARY OCCLUSION OF BLOOD VESSEL USING EXTRA-LUMINAL BALLOON
20170333048 · 2017-11-23 ·

A method of treating a vessel, such as sclerotherapy, includes moving a short balloon catheter to a position at which a compliant extra-luminal balloon is outside of the vessel at an occlusion site, and between the vessel and a non-compliant bearing surface. The vessel is occluded at the occlusion site by inflating the compliant extra-luminal balloon of the balloon catheter, and bearing an outer surface of the balloon against the vessel and the non-compliant bearing surface. The vessel is medically treated upstream from the occlusion site. The short balloon catheter includes a wire guide lumen

Suture-based closure with hemostatic tract plug

Devices for closing a passage through tissue communicating with a body lumen. The device may include an elongate body, a sheath disposed at the distal end of the device for disposition within a body lumen, a hollow needle disposed within a needle lumen of the body, the needle being selectively advanceable through the needle lumen, a suture-anchor ejection mandrel disposed within the hollow needle that is also selectively advanceable through the hollow needle, a suture-anchor and suture disposed within the hollow needle, a distal end of the suture attached to the suture anchor for ejection out the hollow needle by the mandrel. A needle guide disposed between the sheath and proximal end of the body may include a needle port through which the needle can exit. A hemostatic plug is disposed over the needle port so as to be penetrated by the needle upon exiting the port.

Electrically enhanced retrieval of material from vessel lumens

Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by electrically enhancing attachment of the material to the thrombectomy system. The system can include a catheter having a distal portion configured to be positioned adjacent to a thrombus in a blood vessel, an electrode disposed at the distal portion of the catheter, and an interventional element configured to be delivered through a lumen of the catheter. The electrode and the interventional element are each configured to be electrically coupled to an extracorporeal power supply.

INTRAVASCULAR GUIDEWIRE FILTER SYSTEM FOR PULMONARY EMBOLISM PROTECTION AND EMBOLISM REMOVAL OR MACERATION

An intravascular emboli capture and retrieval system for intravascular embolism protection and embolism removal or maceration. Guidewire mounted proximally and distally located multiple opening filters are deployed within the vasculature and used to part, divide and macerate embolic debris and to capture such embolic debris within the confines thereof. A deployable flexible preformed memory shaped capture sleeve is alternatively used to collapse one or more filters and embolic debris therein for subsequent proximal withdrawal from the vasculature.

SYSTEM, DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR INTERRUPTED DUAL ACTION (SANDING AND CUTTING) FORCES WITH CONTINUAL MACERATION AND ASPIRATION
20220354531 · 2022-11-10 ·

A rotational atherectomy device includes a drive shaft, a cutter mechanism coupled to the drive shaft and configured to cut occlusive material from a lesion, and a multi-stage macerator coupled to the drive shaft and configured to macerate cut occlusive material into a fine slurry. Successive stages of the multi-stage macerator macerate the cut occlusive material into successively smaller particles, which are moved proximally through a lumen of a sheath of the device that surrounds the drive shaft proximal to the macerator. The device may include a movable cutter mechanism guard that is passively rotatable between a first position in which it covers the cutter mechanism and a second position in which it exposes the cutter mechanism. One or more features of the device may limit a depth to which the cutter mechanism is able to cut the occlusive material to reduce a likelihood of undesirable tissue dissection.

Aspiration system with accelerated response
11259821 · 2022-03-01 · ·

An aspiration system exhibits an accelerated drop in negative pressure at the distal end of an aspiration catheter from the time of opening a valve. The system includes an aspiration pump in communication with a first chamber, and an aspiration catheter configured for placement into fluid communication with the first chamber by way of an elongate aspiration tube. A second chamber is provided between the aspiration tube and the catheter, and a valve is provided between the second chamber and the aspiration catheter. Upon opening of the valve with negative pressure at equilibrium in the first and second chambers, resistance to fluid flow between the second chamber and the distal end of the catheter is less than the resistance to fluid flow between the second chamber and the first chamber, causing a rapid aspiration into the second chamber.

BLOOD VESSEL DISSECTING DEVICE AND BLOOD VESSEL DISSECTING METHOD
20170312010 · 2017-11-02 · ·
