Method for the industrial production of 2-halo-4,6-dialkoxy-1,3,5-triazines and their use in the presence of amines
A method for stabilization of collagen matrices and of condensation of natural and synthetic polymers that uses 2-halo-4,6-dialkoxy-1,3,5-triazines in the presence of one or more amines as activating agents for reactions of crosslinking, condensation, grafting, and curing of collagen matrices, cellulose, modified celluloses, polysaccharides, acid unsaturated polymers, and chiral and non-chiral amines, etc. Forming an integral part of the present invention is also the method for production on an industrial scale of 2-halo-4,6-dialkoxy-1,3,5-triazines.
ZEOLITE PARTICLES
Described is a method of manufacturing zeolite particles comprising a C1-C4 carboxylate suitable for use in leather tanning, the method comprising the steps of (i) contacting a zeolite particle slurry with a C1-C4 carboxylic acid to increase the acidity of the zeolite particles; and (ii) removing liquid from the slurry to obtain the zeolite particles comprising the C1-C4 carboxylate. Zeolite particles suitable for use in leather tanning, and methods of manufacturing a tanning composition using zeolite particles comprising a C1-C4 carboxylate, are also described.

Process for tanning leathers, pre-tanning products and use thereof
A process for tanning leathers including a pre-tanning step and a tanning step is provided. In the pre-tanning step leathers are treated with a cationic active agent including a quaternized ester of a fatty acid and triethanolamine, or mixtures thereof and, subsequently, with an anionic active agent including tannins vegetable extracts and a natural or synthetic dispersant selected from the group consisting of lignosulfonates, distillation stillages, sulfonated disulfonic polymers, sulfonated naphthalene polymers or mixtures thereof, to obtain leathers with a shrinkage temperature of at least 65 C. The pre-tanning and tanning steps do not include treatment with aldehydes or aldehyde donor compounds and/or with metal salts.

LEATHER OR RETANNING COMPOUND WITH CYCLODEXTRIN BASED INCLUSION COMPOUND
Leather tanning or retanning compound with inclusion compound based on cyclodextrin and at least one synthetic tanning agent.
LEATHER OR RETANNING COMPOUND WITH CYCLODEXTRIN BASED INCLUSION COMPOUND
Leather tanning or retanning compound with inclusion compound based on cyclodextrin and at least one synthetic tanning agent.
Use of reactive cross-linking agents for protein-containing substrates and processes for tanning and dyeing of leather
The present invention relates to the use of reactive colourless and metal-free protein cross-linking agents for the cross-linking (tanning) of protein-containing substrates, said agents are environmentally friendly and give an improved fixation yield, a long-term cross-linking (tanning) stability and good washing off properties. The present invention further relates to processes for the cross-linking (tanning) of protein-containing substrates thereby creating an environmentally friendly process which minimizes the use of chemicals and further improves the quality and efficiency of the tanning and dyeing process. ##STR00001##
