Certain embodiments provide an adjustable length infusion cannula having a cannula including a first proximal end and a first distal end, and a hub having a second proximal end, a second distal end, and a central aperture that extends between the second proximal end and the second distal end. The central aperture is configured to accept the first distal end of the cannula and allow the cannula upward movement and downward movement through the hub. The adjustable length infusion cannula also includes a locking mechanism configured to lock the cannula within the hub such that the first distal end extends a first distance past the second distal end of the hub.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MITRAL VALVE CHORD REPAIR

Methods and devices for transvascular prosthetic chordae tendinea implantation are disclosed. A catheter is advanced into the left atrium. From an atrium side, the catheter can be anchored to a superior surface of a mitral valve leaflet and a leaflet anchor can be advanced into the mitral valve leaflet to secure the mitral valve leaflet to a leaflet suture. A ventricular anchor is anchored to the wall of the ventricle to secure the ventricular wall to a ventricle suture. The leaflet suture and the ventricle suture may be tensioned and connected by a suture lock to form an artificial chordae.

Expended tab reinforcement sleeve

A sleeve can be adapted to reinforce a bone anchor, and can include a body, a lock, and an actuator. The body can include a first sleeve arm and a second sleeve arm, where each can extend longitudinally along opposing sides of a longitudinal bore open at a distal end of the sleeve. The lock can be coupled to the body and releasably securable to a channel of a head of the bone anchor to secure the sleeve to the anchor.

METHOD OF SURGICAL STAPLING WITH END EFFECTOR COMPONENT HAVING A CURVED TIP

A method of surgical stapling that uses a surgical instrument operable to compress, staple, and cut tissue. The instrument includes a body, a shaft, and an end effector with a pair of jaws. A placement tip extends distally from one of the jaws of the end effector. The method includes positioning the end effector at a desired site for surgical stapling. The method also includes controlling one or more of the jaws of the end effector to place the end effector in an open position. The method also includes positioning the end effector such that tissue is located between the jaws. The method also includes clamping the tissue between the jaws by moving at least one of the jaws toward the other jaw. The method also includes advancing a firing beam of the apparatus from a proximal position to a distal position.

SURGICAL SUTURING DEVICE

The invention provides a device for delivering surgical sutures. Significantly, the device is capable of delivering sutures of any size stitch width or stitch length. For minimally invasive surgeries such as laparoscopic surgery or endoscopic surgery, the device allows for delivering sutures of a stitch width and depth that is not constrained by the diameter of the shaft of the instrument. Further, the device provides flexibility that improves the maneuverability and degrees of freedom in the range of motion in difficult-to-reach surgical sites. For example, devices of the invention provide for delivering sutures at an angle substantially offset from the axis of the instrument. This flexibility contributes to providing more secure sutures at a range of challenging surgical sites.

SURGICAL STAPLING DEVICE INCLUDING A BUTTRESS RETENTION ASSEMBLY
20230018231 · 2023-01-19 ·

A buttress assembly for use with a surgical stapling device includes a buttress material and a loading assembly. The buttress material includes proximal and distal portions. The proximal portion defines proximal bores and a proximal slot. The distal portion defines distal bores and a distal slot. The loading assembly includes proximal and distal wings and proximal and distal cups. Each of the proximal wings includes a proximal peg configured to be received in a corresponding one of the proximal bores of the buttress material. Each of the distal wings includes a distal peg configured to be received in a corresponding one of the distal bores of the buttress material. When the proximal pegs are received in the proximal bores, the proximal cup is in registration with the proximal slot, and when the distal pegs are received in the distal bores, the distal cup is in registration with the distal slot.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING EMBOLISM

A method and apparatus for treating a clot in the blood vessel of a patient, and particularly the treatment of a pulmonary embolism is disclosed. The treatment includes restoring flow through the clot followed by clot removal, either partially or substantially completely. The clot treatment device is expandable into the blood vessel and may contain radial extensions that assist in restoring flow as well as in removing clot material.

JOINT REPAIR SYSTEM

A joint stabilization (reduction) system and associated methods and tools for placement of the system in an open or minimally invasive technique. The joint stabilization system includes a flexible prosthetic band for stabilizing the bones in proper position and a connector mechanism for joining the two ends of the prosthetic band around the bones. One end of the prosthetic band can be permanently attached to the connector.

Malleable suction device

A surgical tool, consisting of a handle and a flexible insertion tube, having a proximal end coupled to the handle and a distal end configured to be inserted into an orifice of a living subject. The tool has an inner tube, which is bendable without breaking over a range of angles in response to a bending force, and which retains the bent shape after the bending force has been removed. The inner tube is located within the insertion tube. A flexible tubing defines a lumen and is contained within the inner tube. A tool working tip is configured to contact tissue in the subject and to mate with a distal termination of the inner tube. A rigid outer tube grips outer surfaces of the working tip and of the inner tube so as to maintain an opening of the working tip in communication with the flexible tubing lumen.
