The first set of one or more drive outputs are coupled to and/or extending from the base portion and are configured to drive a first medical instrument. The platform is secured to the base portion and movable between an elevated configuration and a depressed configuration. The platform is biased in the elevated configuration. The latching mechanism is configured to cause the platform to be held in the depressed configuration.

Magnetic Signature Imprinting System

Disclosed herein is a magnetic signature imprinting system including an imprinting device and a medical device including ferrous elements. The imprinting device includes an active area having a magnet moving system, one or more sensors, and a console. The magnet moving system is configured to change the location or orientation of one or more magnets to generate one or more magnetic fields to imprint a magnetic signature. The one or more sensors are configured to detect one or more characteristics of the medical device and the console is in communication with the magnet moving system and the one or more sensors.

Surgical Systems with Intraluminal and Extraluminal Cooperative Instruments

Surgical systems are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical system includes a first scope device having a first portion within an extraluminal space and a second portion positioned within an intraluminal space. The first scope device transmits image data of a first scene. A second scope device is disposed within the extraluminal space and transmits image data of a second scene. The first portion of the first instrument is present within the field of view of the second scope device to track the first scope device relative to the second scope device. A controller receives the transmitted image data of the first and second scenes, to determine a relative distance from the first scope device to the second scope device within the extraluminal space, and to provide a merged image. At least one of the first and second scope device in the merged image is a representative depiction thereof.

Methods and Systems for Controlling Cooperative Surgical Instruments

Systems, devices, and methods for controlling cooperative surgical instruments are provided. Various aspects of the present disclosure provide for coordinated operation of surgical instruments accessing a common body cavity of a patient from different approaches to achieve a common surgical purpose. For example, various methods, devices, and systems disclosed herein can enable the coordinated treatment of surgical tissue by disparate minimally invasive surgical systems that approach the tissue from varying anatomical spaces and operate in concert with one another to effect a desired surgical treatment.

LAPAROSCOPIC SIZING INSTRUMENT

An apparatus includes a handle assembly, a shaft assembly, an end effector, and an auto-tensioning feature. The handle assembly includes a body and a plunger. The shaft assembly includes an external sheath that is fixed to the handle body and an interior shaft that is coupled to the plunger. The interior shaft is slidable relative to the external sheath. The end effector is configured to encompass a bodily lumen and includes a flexible member extending distally from the interior shaft. A first coupling element is fixed to the distal tip of the flexible member. A second coupling element is fixed to the external sheath. The first and second coupling elements are magnetically attracted to each other and are biased toward each other such that the flexible member defines an adjustable loop. The auto-tensioning feature is configured to bias the plunger portion proximally relative to the handle body.

DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR TREATING THE LEFT ATRIAL APPENDAGE
20230033509 · 2023-02-02 ·

Disclosed are embodiments of a method for occluding a left atrial appendage (LAA) and other cavities or openings within a body. Some embodiments of the method can include an implant configured to be deployed within the LAA or other cavity, configured to be expanded or moved against a wall portion of the LAA or other cavity, and configured to twist at least a portion of the LAA or other cavity when the implant is rotated. Thereafter, one or more securing elements, staples, sutures, or other fasteners can be implanted in the gathered tissue to hold the tissue in the gathered state, thereby occluding the opening of the LAA or other cavity. In some embodiments, the opening of the LAA or other cavity can be occluded by elongating or otherwise reshaping the opening using an implant device, and securing the opening in the occluded state.

Left Atrial Appendage Closure Device and Method
20230031497 · 2023-02-02 ·

A device to treat a left atrial appendage (LAA) of a patient includes a tissue ingrowth member, at least one connector, a tine, and a plurality of struts connected to the tissue ingrowth member and at least one connector. A plurality of anchors extends from the tissue ingrowth member proximate the connection point of the struts to the tissue ingrowth member. The device is configured to change shape from a compressed pre-deployment configuration to at least one expanded post-deployment configuration such that the anchors puncture and lodge into cardiac tissue, occluding an ostium of the left atrial appendage.

PROSTATE INNER LUMEN EXPANSION

Various embodiments disclosed relate to a device for insertion into the urethra for dilation. The present disclosure includes methods and devices including a device for at least partial insertion into a prostate, the device including first and second elongated members each having at least one magnetizable or magnetic element. The first and second elongated members are magnetizable to repel each other to dilate a lumen therebetween.

Incisionless gastric bypass system

A system for endoscopically forming an anastomosis between two naturally adjacent points in the digestive tract. The system utilizes elongate magnetic devices that, when connected across a tissue boundary, necrose tissue until an anastomosis forms and the devices are passed naturally. Despite the elongate shape of the devices, the resulting anastomosis is substantially round. As such, round anastomoses can be formed having increased diameters merely by increasing the lengths of the devices, obviating the need for wider endoscopes.
