Composite containing hollow ceramic spheres and preparation method of composite
A composite containing hollow ceramic spheres and a preparation method are provided. The composite includes an impact-resistant gradient complex part containing a hollow ceramic sphere complex, prepared by using a 3D printing method and a hollow ceramic sphere-high polymer complex dielectric material obtained in a blending and fusing way. The obtained composite has the characteristics of relatively low density and high strength. The impact-resistant gradient complex part is a layered complex, the composition and properties of the complex may be regulated in a direction vertical to a layer according to a design, for example, mechanical properties of the complex are transitioned from soft to hard to form gradient change by regulating the change of the composition, and meanwhile, the thickness among layers with different properties is accurately controlled as required. The dielectric, heat conducting and mechanical properties of the hollow ceramic sphere-high polymer complex dielectric material are greatly improved.
Method for manufacturing metal components using recycled feedstock and additive manufacturing
A method for manufacturing metal components includes the steps of providing a waste feedstock having a selected chemical composition; producing an additive manufacturing (AM) grade alloy powder from the waste feedstock using a cold hearth mixing process; providing an additive manufacturing system; controlling the producing of the alloy powder such that the properties of the alloy powder optimize building of the components using the additive manufacturing system; and building the components using the alloy powder and the additive manufacturing system.
Process for producing spheroidized powder from feedstock materials
Disclosed herein are embodiments of methods, devices, and assemblies for processing feedstock materials using microwave plasma processing. Specifically, the feedstock materials disclosed herein pertains to scrap materials, dehydrogenated or non-hydrogenated feed material, recycled used powder, and gas atomized powders. Microwave plasma processing can be used to spheroidize and remove contaminants. Advantageously, microwave plasma processed feedstock can be used in various applications such as additive manufacturing or powdered metallurgy (PM) applications that require high powder flowability.
Densification methods and apparatuses
An apparatus includes a first electrode exhibiting a first Seebeck coefficient, a second electrode exhibiting a second Seebeck coefficient greater than the first Seebeck coefficient, and particles between the first and second electrodes exhibiting a third Seebeck coefficient between the first and second Seebeck coefficients. An alternating current power supply is electrically connected to the first and second electrodes. Heat is generated due to the Peltier effect at a junction between the first electrode and the particles and at a junction between the second electrode and the particles. Heat is removed due to the Peltier effect at the junction between the first electrode and the particles and at the junction between the second electrode and the particles. The particles are densified due to heating and cooling phase transitions between a higher-temperature solid phase and a lower-temperature solid phase while compressing the particles.
Hydrogenation-dehydrogenation method for TiAl alloy and method for producing TiAl alloy powder
A hydrogenation-dehydrogenation method for a TiAl alloy includes performing hydrogenation treatment of the TiAl alloy in an environment of a set temperature equal to or higher than a temperature at which phase transformation to a β phase starts; and performing dehydrogenation treatment of the TiAl alloy which has been subjected to the hydrogenation treatment. The set temperature ranges from 1,100° C. to 1,600° C.
Manufacturing apparatus comprising collocated reduction apparatus, processor and additive-manufacturing apparatus
A method and an apparatus for manufacturing a metallic article involve providing a non-metallic feedstock, for example in the form of an oxide of a desired metal or a mixture of oxides of the components of a desired metal alloy. A manufacturing apparatus has a reduction apparatus for electrochemically reducing the feedstock to a metallic product and a processor for converting the metallic product to a metallic powder. The powder is fed into an additive-manufacturing apparatus for fabricating the metallic article from the metallic powder. At least the reduction apparatus and the processor, and preferably also the additive-manufacturing apparatus, are collocated, or located in the same container, or in the same building, or on the same site.
