Alumina seal coating with interlayer
An abrasive coating for a substrate including a metallic based bond coat layer; a top layer; and an intermediate layer between the metallic based bond coat layer and the top layer. A method of applying an abrasive coating including applying a metallic based bond coat layer onto a substrate; grading an intermediate layer into the metallic based bond coat layer to form a graded transition between the metallic based bond coat layer and the intermediate layer; and grading a top layer into the intermediate layer to form a graded transition between the intermediate layer and the top layer.

METHOD FOR COATING A CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE PART WITH AN ENVIRONMENTAL BARRIER
A method for coating a ceramic matrix composite part with an environmental barrier, the method including a) applying, to a surface of the part, a coating composition including a first powder of a rare earth silicate and a second powder including boron, the coating composition having a ratio R=[mass of the second powder]/[mass of the first powder] of between 0.1% and 5%, and b) sintering the first and second powders to obtain the environmental barrier on the part.
UPPER ELECTRODE AND PLASMA PROCESSING APPARATUS
In an exemplary embodiment, an upper electrode is disposed in a processing chamber to face a susceptor and provided with a plate-like member and an electrode part. In an exemplary embodiment, the plate-like member is formed with a gas distribution hole that distributes a processing gas used for a plasma processing. The electrode part is formed in a film shape by thermally spraying silicon onto a surface of the plate-like member where an outlet of the gas distribution hole is formed.

FUSE-COATED BALL VALVE TRIM
A ball for a ball valve, wherein the ball comprises a substrate of metal having surface modified portions to act as seating surfaces for a seat of the ball valve; and a seat ring for a ball valve, wherein the seat ring comprises a substrate of metal having a surface modified portion to act as a seating surface for a ball of the ball valve.
OXIDATION AND WEAR RESISTANT COATING
A method includes applying a material coating on a surface of a machine component using a thermal spray, wherein the material coating is formed from a combination of a hardfacing material and aluminum-containing particles. The method also includes thermally treating the material coating to generate an oxide layer comprising aluminum from the aluminum-containing particles, wherein the oxide layer is configured to reduce oxidation of the hardfacing material.
