METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR JOINT DISTRACTION
A method of treating a patient's joint having opposing joint surfaces includes providing an elongate member having a proximal end, a distal end and an expandable member near the distal end. The expandable member is positioned in the joint between the joint surfaces and expanded so as to separate the joint surfaces away from one another into a distracted position. The joint is manipulated while in the distracted position so that the joint is distracted and in flexion. A diagnostic or therapeutic procedure is then performed on the joint while maintaining the joint in the flexed and distracted position.
PRESSURIZED ANATOMICAL COMPRESSOR FOR KIDNEY DEVICE
A surgical apparatus has connected strips that are configured to surround an organ, such as a kidney. The surgical apparatus at least partially mechanically occludes fluid flow into, out of or within part of the organ. Each strip is individually inflatable. Tubes deliver fluid to the strips. Each of the tubes is connected to one of the strips.
SELF-RETAINING RADIAL TISSUE RETRACTOR
Disclosed is a self-retaining retractor configured for insertion into an orifice. The self-retaining retractor may include a flexible structure made of, for example, one or more of an elastic polymer sheet and an elastic polymer mesh. Further, the self-retaining retractor may include a flexible or shape memory material, such as, for example, nitinol, polymer or elastomer, incorporated in the flexible structure. Further, the shape memory material may be configured to change a state of the self-retaining retractor between a collapsed state and an expanded state. Accordingly, in the collapsed state, the self-retaining retractor may be conveniently inserted into the orifice. Subsequently, the self-retaining retractor may be changed to the expanded state in which the self-retaining retractor applies outwardly radial force causing the orifice to increase in size.
Channel Device for Surgery and Trigger Structure
Disclosed are a channel device for surgery and a trigger structure. It aims at improving the problem that the operational efficiency of existing channel devices for surgery is not high. The channel device for surgery includes: a binding cord configured to be wound around a metal net; and a binding wire configured to pass through the binding cord and tighten up the binding cord, so as to compress the metal net, or configured to be pulled away from the binding cord, so as to loosen the binding cord and the metal net. In the trigger structure, different first locking portions are configured to cooperate with a first engaging portion, so as to drive the trolley to slide intermittently relative to the handle, such that a second engaging portion cooperates with different second locking portions, hereby locking the sliding trolley in different positions on the handle.
Soft Tissue Retractor
A soft tissue retractor for medical use, formed as a rectangular blade-like retractor element made from shape memory alloy.
TISSUE PROTECTOR AND METHOD OF USE
A tissue protector has a body structure having a longitudinal extending thin web. The body structure has an unconstrained first shape configured to form a nerve shield and is configured to shrink about a longitudinal axis to a smaller constrained second shape sized to fit into a lumen of a cannula. Preferably, the second constrained shape is oval or round having a maximum diameter equal or less than an inside diameter of the lumen. The body structure is configured to return to the first shape when the cannula is withdrawn or returned to this shape as the implant advances.
BREAST SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS
A dilator configured for separating subcutaneous fat from glandular tissue includes a center section, a first end section extending from a first end of the center section, the first end section extending nonparallel to the center section, the first end section having a first diameter, and a second end section extending from a second end of the center section opposite the first end, the second end section extending nonparallel to the center section, the second end section having a second diameter different than the first diameter. A retractor includes a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and a head located at a shaft end opposite the handle. The head includes a plurality of teeth, each tooth having a tooth end curving downwardly from a head outer surface, adjacent teeth spaced from one another by a tooth gap therebetween, the plurality of teeth having unequal tooth lengths.
Method and Apparatus for Retention of Adipose Tissue
A tissue retention system to assist in maintaining adipose tissue on a patient in a displaced position during a medical procedure to provide access to a body region of the patient includes an anchor pad having a pad length and a pad width. The anchor pad may include a pad body with an adhesive surface thereon, the adhesive being configured to adhere to a patient's skin. The anchor pad also may include an opposing first attachment surface facing away from the adhesive surface. The tissue retention system also may include a tension member having a second attachment surface.
Shape memory surgical sponge for retracting the dura during a laminectomy procedure
Methods and apparatus for retracting the dura away from a cutting tool during a laminectomy procedure. The method includes inserting a memory shape surgical sponge (patty) into an initial epidural space between the dura and the tool used to decompress (e.g., drill) the lamina. As the lamina is further decompressed, the patty tends to spring back toward its nominal position, urging the dura away from the decompression and isolating the dura from the drill.
ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENT DEVICE, AND USAGE METHOD THEREOF
A tissue traction device includes a first needle connected to a distal end of a first thread; a second needle connected to a distal end of a second thread; an elongated main body connected to the first thread and extending between the first thread and the second thread, the main body including a first hole; and a tube disposed at a proximal end of the main body, wherein the second thread is inserted through the first hole to be advanceable and retractable at a position between the second needle and a distal end of the tube, and the tube and the second thread are configured to be relatively movable in a longitudinal direction of the tube.
