Side-loading knot cutter
A knot pushing and suture-cutting device is disclosed including a handle having a multi-positional control and an inner shaft and outer tube extending from the handle. The inner shaft and outer tube both comprise slots and the outer tube is both axially and rotationally moveable relative to the inner shaft, to move the inner shaft and outer tube slots relative to each other. In a first configuration, the inner shaft and outer tube slots are aligned and configured to receive a suture therein. In a second configuration, the slots are configured to lock the suture within a lumen of the inner shaft. In a third configuration a cutting edge on the outer slot is configured to cut the suture.
MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS ADAPTED FOR TISSUE FIXATION AND APPROXIMATING TISSUE DEFECTS
A medical device for approximating and securing tissue without requiring knots includes a lock-head, a strap section, distal protuberance, and a leader section. The device also includes a transition section between the leader and the strap section and a stiffening section proximal to the protuberance. The leader section is used to draw the strap section into the body through small apertures in tissue and the transition section provides a gradual transition in stiffness and size between the leader and the strap section. Tensioner and cutter and a threading tool configured to be slidably removed from a lumen of the tensioner and cutter is provided. A blade within the lumen of the tensioner and cutter is provided to cut excess leader and/or strap when the procedure is completed.
Apparatus And Methods For A Prosthetic Mitral Valve Holder
A holder for a prosthetic heart valve includes a base having an annular portion defining an aperture, and a spool rotatably mated with the base. The spool has a platform and a head extending in a longitudinal direction from the platform. The holder further includes a button housing having an aperture sized and shaped to receive the head of the spool, and a button inserted in the button housing. The button housing is detachably coupled to the spool in an assembled condition. The button is movable relative to the button housing to move the button housing from a condition locked to the spool to a condition removable from the spool.
MEDICAL DEVICE FOR CUTTING A SUTURE DURING A MINIMALLY INVASIVE PROCEDURE
A medical device for cutting a suture during a minimally invasive procedure may include an elongate shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a central longitudinal axis, a handle disposed at the proximal end of the elongate shaft, the handle including an actuation mechanism, and a cutting blade disposed proximate the distal end of the elongate shaft. The cutting blade is axially translatable within the elongate shaft in response to operation of the actuation mechanism. The elongate shaft includes a distal port to receive a suture. The elongate shaft includes a transverse slot extending inward from an outer surface of the elongate shaft generally perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis. The elongate shaft includes a suture lumen extending from the distal port axially within the elongate shaft to the transverse slot. The cutting blade intersects the transverse slot adjacent the suture lumen.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REATTACHING THE LABRUM TO THE ACETABULUM, INCLUDING THE PROVISION AND USE OF A NOVEL SUTURE ANCHOR SYSTEM
Apparatus for securing an object to bone, the apparatus comprising: an anchor assembly comprising an anchor and an actuation element extending from the anchor, wherein applying a force to the actuation element when the anchor is disposed in a hole formed in a bone secures the anchor to the bone; and an inserter for deploying the anchor assembly in a hole formed in a bone, the inserter comprising: a shaft for releasably engaging the anchor; and a force delivery mechanism mounted to the shaft and connected to the actuation element, the force delivery mechanism being constructed so as to receive an input force from an external source and to selectively apply an output force to the actuation element, with the force delivery mechanism being constructed so that the magnitude of the output force is limited regardless of the magnitude of the input force.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR LEAFLET FOLDING OR CAPTURE
Methods and tools for folding and/or capturing leaflets of a heart valve are disclosed herein. Prior to or during installing of a prosthetic heart valve, part of a leaflet of an existing valvular structure can be positioned distally and/or folded upon itself. The existing valvular structure may be a native heart valve or a previously-implanted prosthetic heart valve. When the existing valvular structure is at the aortic position, the prosthetic heart valve can be subsequently installed within the existing valvular structure such that the leaflet is maintained in a location that avoids obstructing blood flow to one or more of the coronary arteries.
PERICARDIAL ANCHORING SYSTEM
Various aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward apparatuses, systems, and methods for cardiac device anchoring and more specifically to accessing and anchoring in the pericardial space.
SUTURE LOCKING DEVICE AND SUTURE LOCKING DEVICE IMPLANTING APPARATUS
Disclosed are a suture locking device and a suture locking device implanting apparatus. The suture locking device comprises a suture pressing housing, a squeezing part and a driving component, wherein a suture pressing cavity is provided inside the suture pressing housing, the squeezing part is arranged in the suture pressing cavity, a first suture routing hole and a second suture routing hole are provided in the housing wall of the suture pressing housing, the driving component is configured to squeeze the squeezing part, and therefore, a locking suture sequentially penetrating the second suture routing hole and the first suture routing hole is squeezed.
Devices, systems and methods for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia and other conditions
Devices, systems and methods for compressing, cutting, incising, reconfiguring, remodeling, attaching, repositioning, supporting, dislocating or altering the composition of tissues or anatomical structures to alter their positional or force relationship to other tissues or anatomical structures. In some applications, the invention may be used to used to improve patency or fluid flow through a body lumen or cavity (e.g., to limit constriction of the urethra by an enlarged prostate gland).
Multiple-firing suture fixation device and methods for using and manufacturing same
A multiple-firing clip device comprises a shaft comprising an exterior surface, an interior receiving therein suture fixation clips, and a distal end opening shaped to eject a suture fixation clip therefrom. The shaft defines a lateral opening and a distal shaft portion between the lateral opening and the distal end opening. A shuttle moves on the shaft and comprises a shuttle body, a snare having a distal snare portion, and a snare extension slide movable from the shuttle body along a given extent defining a slide distance and a distal end. The shuttle extends at least the distal snare portion distally through the lateral opening from the environment into the interior, through the distal shaft portion, and through the distal end opening along a length that is at least equal to the slide distance when the snare extension slide moves to the distal end of the given extent.
