Stitch lock for attaching two or more structures
An anchor assembly can include at least one anchor member, such as a pair of anchor members that are configured to be implanted in a target anatomical location in a first configuration, and can subsequently be actuated to an expanded configuration that secures the anchor members in the target anatomy. The anchor assembly can further include a connector member configured as a stitch lock that attaches the pair of anchor members together across a gap so as to approximate the anatomical defect.
Systems and methods for suturing tissue
A device for suturing tissue includes a handle including a housing and a suturing needle for advancing a suture through the tissue. The device also includes a first needle gripper that is configured to both grasp and release the suturing needle. A second needle gripper is also configured to both grasp and release the suturing needle. An actuator is coupled to the housing and is operatively coupled to: (a) a first linkage that pivots the second gripping gripper between a fully extended position and a retracted position relative to the housing; and (b) a second linkage that is operatively coupled to the first and second needle grippers and configured to alter a state of each of the first and second needle grippers. The second linkage can include a one-way clutch.
Transcatheter prosthetic heart valve delivery system with distal cutting assembly
The disclosure relates to transcatheter stented prosthesis delivery devices including a handle assembly connected to a shaft assembly on which a stented prosthesis is loaded and compressively retained with a plurality of elongate tension members. The delivery devices include a cutting assembly that can sever the elongate tension members after the stented prosthesis is expanded at a target site so that the delivery device can be withdrawn from the patient. Certain embodiments position the cutting assembly at least within the shaft assembly and others position the cutting assembly over the shaft assembly. Various disclosed cutting assemblies are actuated with the handle assembly or the like, which draw the tension members across the blade or vice versa.
GUILLOTINE STYLE CUTTING MECHANISM
A guillotine style cutting mechanism that can cut material without a pair of pivoting blades that are externally exposed, does not require a user to open and close two fingers to operate, and can be operated in both the left and right hands (not designed for either hand). The cutting mechanism includes a receiving inlet (trap) for receiving the material, a stationary blade within the trap and a moveable blade that enters the trap when activated by an engagement mechanism. The cutting mechanism may include an outer housing having an open interior, an extension arm extending from the housing to create the trap, a stationary blade within the trap, a movable blade formed on a rod within the housing, and an engagement button that causes the moveable blade to traverse the housing so as to extend into the trap and engage the stationary blade to cut the material.
HANDLE AND CARTRIDGE SYSTEM FOR MEDICAL INTERVENTIONS
An apparatus for transferring mechanical energy in a handle to a cartridge to manipulate tissue or anatomical structures within the body of a human or animal subject for the purpose of treating diseases or disorders.
CUTTING DEVICES FOR SUTURING TOOLS AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A needle driver device comprises an arcuate-shaped distal end portion defining an aperture opening at a distal end of the needle driver device and a cutting element disposed an exterior surface portion of the needle driver device. The cutting element is configured to cut suturing material. Devices, systems, and methods relate to cutting suturing material.
Suture Cutter
A method and apparatus are disclosed for cutting a strand of suture. The apparatus comprises a solid outer member defining a lumen there-through. An inner member is received at least partially within the lumen, a portion of the inner member defining a curve. The inner member further defines a feature for retaining a strand of suture. At least one of the inner and outer members are moveable with respect to the other of the inner and outer members for cutting the strand of suture.
Cutting eye needle
Cutting eye needle comprising an elongated portion, a tip portion, and an eye portion comprising a frictionally engaged cutting edge, with adjacent surfaces (14) and (15) intersecting at edge (17) at an angle that creates a frictionally engaged cutting edge, which threads and sews like a conventional hand sewing needle, which is suitable for cutting one or more threads, in professions including the medical field and surgery, and in needlecraft operations particularly suited to quilting, where ends of thread are cut while located inside the cavities of a quilting project, while simultaneously reducing the probability of skin contact of an operator are disclosed.
Flat object grasper
A rotatable jaw device for use with an endoscope. The device includes a fork, and two jaws pivotally mounted to the fork. The jaws are movable between a predetermined closed position and a predetermined open position. At least one jaw has at least one protrusion on a surface of the jaw. The at least one protrusion prohibits movement of the two jaws in the opening direction beyond the predetermined open position. One jaw may have an elongated center void defined by twin jaw extensions, and the other jaw may rotate within the elongated center void when the two jaws move toward the predetermined closed position.
Method and apparatus for forming a suture connector in situ
A system for forming a suture connector in situ includes a suture connector placement device having a handle, an outer shaft, an intermediate shaft, and a push rod, and a suture connector having a sleeve and a plug. The intermediate shaft is slidingly disposed through a lumen of the outer shaft, and the push rod is slidingly disposed through a lumen of the intermediate shaft. When the suture connector is in a loaded configuration within the suture connector placement device, the sleeve is radially disposed over the intermediate shaft and the plug is positioned proximal to the sleeve within the lumen of the intermediate shaft. Distal advancement of the push rod moves the plug into the sleeve and proximal retraction of the intermediate shaft releases the resilient sleeve onto the plug, thereby securing two suture portions between the sleeve and the plug. The system is then utilized to trim the suture portions.
