A method to prevent corrosion of a susceptible article of a two-article system, in which first and second articles of the two-article system have surfaces facing one another and in which the two articles have different anodic indices includes applying a coating material to the surface of the first article and curing the coating material on the surface of the first article. The method further includes contacting and securing the surface of the first article with the surface of the second article. The two articles exhibit substantially no corrosion following exposure to a corrosive environment under standard GMW17026 for a 15 year simulated test.

Maleic anhydride homopolymer corrosion inhibitors, maleic acid homopolymer corrosion inhibitors, methods for preparing the same, and methods of inhibiting corrosion are provided. The corrosion inhibitors may exclude phosphorus and may contain a hydrolysate of a maleic anhydride homopolymer or a hydrolysate of a maleic acid homopolymer. The maleic acid homopolymer may include from about 2 to about 5 maleic acid repeating units and the maleic anhydride homopolymer may include from about 2 to about 5 maleic anhydride repeating units.

Corrosion inhibition package
An inhibition corrosion package for use with an acidic composition, where the package comprises a dialdehyde-containing hydrocarbon component; at least one surfactant; optionally, a propargyl alcohol or derivative thereof; and a solvent. Also disclosed are acidic compositions combining the corrosion inhibition package according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention for use in various industrial operations including but not limited to oil and gas operations. The invention provides a water treatment composition comprising a cathodic inhibitor comprising at least one rare earth metal, an anodic inhibitor comprising at least one polycarboxylic acid, and a polymer dispersant comprising at least one sulfonic group. The invention also provides a method of inhibiting corrosion of a metal in an industrial water system, which method includes treating water of the industrial water system with the composition of the invention, to provide treated water.
