A laminate includes a layer containing a polyaniline-based polymer and a phenoxy-based resin, and a layer containing zinc and/or a zinc alloy, a laminate includes, in sequence, a layer containing a polyaniline-based polymer and a phenoxy-based resin, a layer containing zinc and/or a zinc alloy, and an aluminum or aluminum alloy layer. A rust prevention method includes forming a layer containing a polyaniline-based polymer and a phenoxy-based resin on a layer containing zinc and/or a zinc alloy or on a layer containing zinc and/or a zinc alloy disposed on an aluminum or aluminum alloy layer. The laminates and the rust prevention method are for reducing the formation of rust on the layer containing zinc and/or the zinc alloy or the aluminum or aluminum alloy layer for a long period of time.

In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a process for preventing corrosion of a metallic surface of a pipeline includes contacting the metallic surface with a corrosion inhibitor. The corrosion inhibitor comprises a polymer of formula R—O—(POL)—Z. R is a straight or branched alkyl or aryl; POL is a polyglycerol based polymer; Z is a non-ionic amine, a cyclic amine having 5 to 8 atoms, a diamine, a triamine, a tetra-amine, a polymeric amine, a thiol, a disulfide, or —NH—R.sub.1—SH; and R.sub.1 is a hydrocarbyl. The corrosion inhibitor is also disclosed.

In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a process for preventing corrosion of a metallic surface of a pipeline includes contacting the metallic surface with a corrosion inhibitor. The corrosion inhibitor comprises a polymer of formula R—O—(POL)—Z. The corrosion inhibitor is also disclosed.

Maleic anhydride homopolymer corrosion inhibitors, maleic acid homopolymer corrosion inhibitors, methods for preparing the same, and methods of inhibiting corrosion are provided. The corrosion inhibitors may exclude phosphorus and may contain a hydrolysate of a maleic anhydride homopolymer or a hydrolysate of a maleic acid homopolymer. The maleic acid homopolymer may include from about 2 to about 5 maleic acid repeating units and the maleic anhydride homopolymer may include from about 2 to about 5 maleic anhydride repeating units.

The maleic acid homopolymer may include from about 2 to about 5 maleic acid repeating units and the maleic anhydride homopolymer may include from about 2 to about 5 maleic anhydride repeating units.
