An apparatus and method for minimally invasive suturing is disclosed. A suturing device for minimally invasive suturing includes proximal section having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis therebetween; a suture head assembly extending from the distal end of the proximal section; a suturing needle having a pointed end and a blunt end, the suturing needle capable of rotating about an axis approximately perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the proximal section, wherein the pointed end of the suturing needle is positioned within the suture head assembly prior to and after rotation of the suturing needle; and an actuator extending from the proximal end of the proximal section to actuate a drive mechanism having a needle driver for engaging and rotating the suturing needle.

Button actuated needle loader

An apparatus for loading suture needles into a surgical instrument comprises a body, a drive member, a needle, and a button. The body has a channel configured to receive a surgical instrument. The drive member is configured to open a cover of a surgical instrument upon insertion of a surgical instrument into a channel of the body. The button is configured to deliver the suture needle to a surgical instrument after a surgical instrument has been inserted into the channel and the cover has been opened. The apparatus may further comprise a plate member configured to either prevent downward movement of the button before insertion of a surgical instrument, or participate in the delivery of the needle to a surgical instrument.

Laparoscopic surgical system

A laparoscopic port closure device is described. The device allows for the deployment of a suture internally into an abdominal wall and the subsequent use of that deployed suture to effect a closing of the wound that was used for the port. The deployed suture may be used during the surgical procedure to effect a securing or anchoring of the device.

Devices and methods for continuous surgical suturing

A machine constructed and configured for automatic continuous suturing for reduced or minimized scarring and reduced suturing time, including methods of using the same. A device for continuous suturing. A device, method and suture for subcuticular suturing.

Systems and methods for suturing tissue

A device for suturing tissue includes a handle including a housing and a suturing needle for advancing a suture through the tissue. The device also includes a first needle gripper that is configured to both grasp and release the suturing needle. A second needle gripper is also configured to both grasp and release the suturing needle. An actuator is coupled to the housing and is operatively coupled to: (a) a first linkage that pivots the second gripping gripper between a fully extended position and a retracted position relative to the housing; and (b) a second linkage that is operatively coupled to the first and second needle grippers and configured to alter a state of each of the first and second needle grippers. The second linkage can include a one-way clutch.

Method of preparing suture anchor using suture and prepared suture anchor

The present invention relates to a method of preparing a suture anchor using a suture and a prepared suture anchor. A knitting member (100) cut at a predetermined width and length while having a plurality of knots (10a) is inserted into a hole 1a of a bone 1 using an anchor inserting device 200, and a second suture 20 provided between one knot 10a of the plurality of knots and another knot 10a thereof is pulled rearwards, and thus the knitting member (100) is deformed from a long rod shape to a lump shape the bone 1. Accordingly, the knitting member (100) has a volume larger than a diameter of the hole 1a, and the knitting member (100) deformed into the lump shape is configured not to be removed from the hole 1a of the bone 1 even when the second suture 20 is further pulled in a rear direction.

Rotational action needle driver

A rotational action needle driver that comprises an cumbersome ergonomically designed handle, rotational mechanism and an integrated locking/unlocking system that permits surgeons to perform the surgical suturing procedure in a less complicated and more secure way by allowing more control over the suturing needle and the area to be stitched, even when the suturing area is small, deep, and/or restricted.

CUTTING DEVICES FOR SUTURING TOOLS AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A needle driver device comprises an arcuate-shaped distal end portion defining an aperture opening at a distal end of the needle driver device and a cutting element disposed an exterior surface portion of the needle driver device. The cutting element is configured to cut suturing material. Devices, systems, and methods relate to cutting suturing material.

SUTURING DEVICE AND CLAMP FOR USE WITH SAME

A suturing device comprising an elongated member including a cavity formed in a surface thereof, a needle passage, and a vacuum port. When the elongated member is inserted into a body including tissue and a vacuum is applied to the cavity, the tissue is captured by the cavity. A needle pusher is operable to move a needle having a sutured attached thereto through the tissue until a first end of the needle is captured by a needle capturing assembly. A clamp coupled to the elongated member is used to extract the needle from the needle capturing assembly and reposition the needle with suture attached to be re-engaged by the needle pusher. The cavity may include a plurality of cavity portions for capturing multiple contiguous portions of the tissue such that a single pass of the needle and the suture results in the suturing of the multiple portions of the tissue.

Replaceable suturing head, a replaceable needle cartridge, and a suturing device

A replaceable suturing head for a suturing device includes a suturing portion. The suturing portion comprises a curved suturing needle arranged to move around a circular path defined by a plurality of rollers mounted on roller shafts within the suturing portion, at least one of the plurality of rollers being a drive roller driven by the drive motor to move the suturing needle around the circular path. One or more of the roller shafts is mounted within the suturing portion so that it can pivot around its base.
