An apparatus and method for electrochemically depositing a unitary layer structure using a reactor configured to contain an electrolyte solution with an anode array containing a plurality of independently electrically controllable anodes arranged in a two-dimensional array, a cathode, an addressing circuit configured to receive a signal containing anode address data and configured to output a signal causing an anode array pattern; and a first controller being a current controller configured to control a flow of current to the anode array; a second controller in communication with the addressing circuit, the current controller and the anode array, the second controller operable to communicate with the current controller to command the flow of current to each anode in the anode array causing an electrochemical reaction at the cathode to deposit a layer corresponding to the anode array pattern signal received from the addressing circuit; and a third controller configured to clear bubbles which have formed on the anode after a length of time of steady state deposition by controlling the flow of the electrolyte solution across the anode array surface..

MULTILAYER COATINGS OF COMPONENT PARTS FOR A WORK PIECE PROCESSING CHAMBER
A processing tool, comprising a processing chamber for processing a work piece, the processing chamber including at least one component part that is coated with multi-layer protective coating including (a) an aluminum layer formed on the at least one component part and (b) a ceramic coating formed on the aluminum layer. In various embodiments, the multi-layer protective coating can be applied to at least one component part prior to assembly of the processing chamber or at least partially in situ the processing chamber.
MULTILAYER COATINGS OF COMPONENT PARTS FOR A WORK PIECE PROCESSING CHAMBER
A processing tool, comprising a processing chamber for processing a work piece, the processing chamber including at least one component part that is coated with multi-layer protective coating including (a) an aluminum layer formed on the at least one component part and (b) a ceramic coating formed on the aluminum layer. In various embodiments, the multi-layer protective coating can be applied to at least one component part prior to assembly of the processing chamber or at least partially in situ the processing chamber.
PLATED STEEL SHEET FOR HOT PRESS FORMING HAVING EXCELLENT IMPACT PROPERTIES AFTER HOT PRESS FORMING, HOT PRESS FORMED MEMBER, AND MANUFACTURING METHODS THEREOF
The present invention provides: a plated steel sheet for hot press forming having excellent impact properties after hot press forming; a hot press formed member manufactured using the plated steel sheet for hot press forming; and manufacturing methods thereof. The plated steel sheet comprises: a base steel sheet containing, by weight, 0.15-0.4% of C, 0.1-1% of Si, 0.6-8% of Mn, 0.001-0.05% of P, 0.0001-0.02% of S, 0.01-0.1% of Al, 0.001-0.02% of N, and 0.01-0.5% of Cr, with the remainder comprising Fe and miscellaneous impurities; and a plating layer formed on the surface of the base steel sheet and composed of zinc, aluminum, or an alloy containing zinc and aluminum, wherein the ratio (C S/C B) of the content (C S) of C in a surface layer to the content (C B) of C in the base steel sheet is 0.6 or less, and the ratio ((Mn S+Cr S)/(Mn B+Cr B)) of the total content (Mn S+Cr S) of Mn and Cr in the surface layer to the total content (Mn B+Cr B) of Mn and Cr in the base steel sheet is 0.8 or more.

The present invention provides: a plated steel sheet for hot press forming having excellent impact properties after hot press forming; a hot press formed member manufactured using the plated steel sheet for hot press forming; and manufacturing methods thereof. The plated steel sheet comprises: a base steel sheet containing, by weight, 0.15-0.4% of C, 0.1-1% of Si, 0.6-8% of Mn, 0.001-0.05% of P, 0.0001-0.02% of S, 0.01-0.1% of Al, 0.001-0.02% of N, and 0.01-0.5% of Cr, with the remainder comprising Fe and miscellaneous impurities; and a plating layer formed on the surface of the base steel sheet and composed of zinc, aluminum, or an alloy containing zinc and aluminum, wherein the ratio (C S/C B) of the content (C S) of C in a surface layer to the content (C B) of C in the base steel sheet is 0.6 or less, and the ratio ((Mn S+Cr S)/(Mn B+Cr B)) of the total content (Mn S+Cr S) of Mn and Cr in the surface layer to the total content (Mn B+Cr B) of Mn and Cr in the base steel sheet is 0.8 or more.

METHODS FOR ELECTROPOLISHING AND COATING ALUMINUM ON AIR AND/OR MOISTURE SENSITIVE SUBSTRATES
Methods for electropolishing and coating aluminum on a surface of an air and/or moisture sensitive substrate, including: in a vessel, submerging the substrate in a first molten salt bath and applying an anodizing current to the substrate at a first temperature to electropolish the surface of the substrate; wherein the first molten salt bath includes one of a first organic salt bath and first inorganic salt bath; wherein, when used, the first organic salt bath includes one of (a) aluminum halide and ionic liquid, (b) a combination of an aluminum halide and halogenatedmethylphenylsulfone (C.sub.6(H.sub.5-y,X.sub.y)SO.sub.2CX.sub.3, where y is a number from 0-5), (c) a combination of an aluminum halide, an ionic liquid, and halogenatedmethylphenylsulfone (C.sub.6(H.sub.5-y,X.sub.y)SO.sub.2CX.sub.3), and (d) AlF.sub.3-organofluoride-hydrofluoric acid adduct; wherein, when used, the first inorganic salt bath includes aluminum halide and alkali metal halide; and wherein the anodizing current is 10-30 mA/cm.sup.2.

Methods for electropolishing and coating aluminum on a surface of an air and/or moisture sensitive substrate, including: in a vessel, submerging the substrate in a first molten salt bath and applying an anodizing current to the substrate at a first temperature to electropolish the surface of the substrate; wherein the first molten salt bath includes one of a first organic salt bath and first inorganic salt bath; wherein, when used, the first organic salt bath includes one of (a) aluminum halide and ionic liquid, (b) a combination of an aluminum halide and halogenatedmethylphenylsulfone (C.sub.6(H.sub.5-y,X.sub.y)SO.sub.2CX.sub.3, where y is a number from 0-5), (c) a combination of an aluminum halide, an ionic liquid, and halogenatedmethylphenylsulfone (C.sub.6(H.sub.5-y,X.sub.y)SO.sub.2CX.sub.3), and (d) AlF.sub.3-organofluoride-hydrofluoric acid adduct; wherein, when used, the first inorganic salt bath includes aluminum halide and alkali metal halide; and wherein the anodizing current is 10-30 mA/cm.sup.2.
