Methods and devices for manipulating and fastening tissue
A tissue displacing and fastening device is provided for manipulating and fastening tissue together. The device includes a tissue displacing elements, which displaces tissue. A fold is formed from the displaced tissue and the tissue is fastened together to secure the fold.
ANCHOR DESIGNS WITH ADAPTABLE LENGTH CONTROL
An implant, system, and method of deployment includes a plurality of anchor housings coupled to one of the proximal end or distal end of an implant frame. Each anchor housing may include an anchor sleeve disposed within a bore of the anchor housing, the anchor sleeve having a lumen extending therethrough including features disposed on an internal wall of the lumen for translatably supporting at least one anchor. Each anchor sleeve may be independently translatable within the bore of the anchor housing to control a distal extent of travel of the at least one anchor through the at least one anchor housing.
Left Atrial Appendage Stasis Reduction
Methods and devices that prevent stasis in the LAA by either increasing the flow through the LAA or by closing off or sealing the LAA. Increasing the flow is accomplished through shunts, flow diverters, agitators, or by increasing the size of the ostium. Closing off the LAA is accomplished using seals or by cinching the LAA.
SEPARATE-ELECTRODE ELECTRIC FIELD GUIDANCE
Electrical field-guided positioning of a second device within a body cavity, using electrical field mapping information generated from electrical field measurements by electrodes of a first device. The first device, in some embodiments, is a catheter electrode probe, and the second device is an internally implantable and/or operated medical device. An exposed, electrically conductive portion of the second device is optionally configured to be used as an electrical field measuring electrode. A rule is applied to measurements made by this electrode to estimate its position within a body cavity. The rule is generated, in some embodiments, using measurements made by the first device.
Surgical fastener
A surgical fastener is provided for various surgical fastening applications, including attaching an implantable prosthesis, such as a soft tissue repair fabric, to tissue and/or muscle. The surgical fastener may include a coil body and a separate head that is attached to the coil body. The head may include an internal thread that is threadably attached to the coil body. The head may also be further secured to the coil body with a compression fit therebetween. A locking feature may prevent back-out of the coil body from the head. The surgical fastener may be assembled by threading the coil body through the head.
Tissue Screw and Method of Making and Using Same
A monolithic tissue screw fabricated of a single, unitary piece of material. The monolithic tissue screw has a helical coil portion and screw head portion with a driver aperture passing axially through the screw head portion and a co-axial with the helical coil portion such that a rotational torsional force applied by a mating driver to the driver aperture causes the helical coil portion to rotate about its axis. The helical coil portion engages tissue and draws the helical coil and the screw head portion into the tissue substantially only with the application of the rotational torsional force and substantially without an axial force applied to the tissue screw.
Ventral hernia defect closure
A tissue defect closure system includes an endoscopic surgical fixation device and an implant. The endoscopic surgical fixation device includes a handle assembly and an elongated outer tube having a distal end and including a plurality of fasteners disposed therein. The implant includes an elongated hollow body having a proximal end and a distal end, and defines an elongated pocket therein. The elongated pocket is dimensioned to engage the elongated outer tube of the endoscopic surgical fixation device.
Brachytherapy clip and applicator
A surgical implant includes a biocompatible member configured for securement to an underlying target surgical site and a radiation source integrated into or onto the biocompatible member. The surgical implant may be one of a clip, pin, or coil and the radiation source includes at least one brachytherapy capsule, or other radioactive material incorporated therein or provided thereon. The radioactive material provides a dose of radiation to the target surgical site. The surgical implant may also be formed from titanium, stainless steel or polymers. A surgical applier is provided for allowing a surgeon to apply the implant to a patient's tissue.
IMPLANTABLE DEVICE AND DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR RESHAPING A HEART VALVE ANNULUS
Systems, devices and methods related to various heart valve implants and for delivery of those heart valve implants are described. The implants may be used to re-size a native valve annulus or to replace a native heart valve. The implants include a re-sizable frame having angled struts. Anchors secure the implant to tissue and collars are used to decrease the angle between the struts and contract the frame. The implant thus expands from a first size inside of a delivery catheter, to a second and larger deployed size inside the heart to engage and anchor with the tissue, and then to a third and contracted size to re-size the annulus and/or provide a secure fit for a replacement heart valve. Various delivery systems including imaging capabilities for precise delivery, positioning and anchoring of the various implants are further described.
FASTENING NAIL, FASTENING NAIL IMPLANTING APPARATUS AND MEDICAL INSTRUMENT
Provided are fastening nail, fastening nail implanting apparatus and medical instrument, wherein the fastening nail includes a nail seat and a spiral part, wherein front end of the spiral part is formed as a tip, rear end of the spiral part is fixedly connected to front end of the nail seat, and a first positioning part is provided on an end surface of rear end of the nail seat. The fastening nail implanting apparatus implants the fastening nail into a human body and includes a base, a conveying cable and an anchoring handle, wherein rear end of the conveying cable is connected to the anchoring handle, and front end of the conveying cable is provided with a second positioning part; and the anchoring handle is installed on the base, and drives the conveying cable to rotate or release the fastening nail under first working condition or second working condition.
