ENDOLUMINAL SLEEVE GASTROPLASTY
Devices and methods of endolumenal formation of gastric sleeves are described. Some embodiments allow templating of a gastric sleeve by a gastric bougie, exposing a selected amount of tissue for suturing access, while maintaining sufficient internal working space for suturing within the template lumen.
TISSUE CLOSING METHOD AND APPARATUS
An apparatus for opening or closing a tissue opening in a biological subject, the apparatus including at least two flexible arms coupled to a tissue surface in use, each arm being curved outwardly in a mid-portion to accommodate a tissue opening therebetween and a biasing mechanism that selectively biases opposing ends of each arm to thereby at least one of bias mid-portions of the arms apart to assist in at least partially opening the tissue opening; and bias mid-portions of the arms towards each other to assist in at least partially closing the tissue opening.
Endoscopic closure device
The present application is directed to an endoscopic closure device. The endoscopic closure device adapted to be delivered by an endoscope having an axis. The endoscopic closure device includes a pair of grasping members coupled by a support member that extends between the grasping members along the direction of the axis. The endoscopic closure device is configured to align and deploy along the axis of the endoscope accessory channel.
Method and instrument for treating obesity
A gastroscopic method and instrument for treating obesity of a patient, using a device adapted to stretch a part of the stomach wall of said patient. The method comprises the steps of: inserting the device into the stomach through the esophagus, placing the device in contact with the stomach wall, and fixating the device to the stomach wall such that the device can stretch a part of the stomach wall.
Double orifice device for transcatheter mitral valve replacement
Valve devices for replacement of mitral valves while preserving valvular and subvalvular mitral valve apparatus. The valve device may be configured as a double orifice valve replacement device, and may include an anchoring and manifold assembly coupleable to a delivery catheter. The assembly may include means for anchoring the device to the mitral valve or to a fixation device already attached to the mitral valve. A peripheral ring anchoring system secured to the assembly may include at least one expandable anchoring ring that is expandable within an orifice of the mitral valve so as to surround the orifice perimeter. A helical suture may be helically disposable about the ring, securing the ring to adjacent leaflet tissue. A trap door valve including a trap door body that seals against the anchoring ring during systole and unseals during the diastolic portion of the cardiac cycle may be provided.
IMPLANTABLE FASCIAL APPROXIMATOR
Any of a number of implantable or partially implantable approximators, including, but not limited to, manual and ratchet approximators using a tensioning component that can be at least partially provided within a wound for closing the fascia of a wound (such as around the approximatoor) using continuously tensioned sutures. Also provided are approximators with automatic tensioning features, including electrically driven devices.
Devices, systems, and methods for repairing soft tissue and attaching soft tissue to bone
Devices, systems and/or methods for repairing soft tissue adjacent a repair site. In one embodiment, a repair device is delivered with a delivery device system configured to move a cartridge with the repair device disposed therein toward an anvil with soft tissue positioned thereon. The delivery device linearly moves the cartridge toward the anvil with a worm drive positioned within a housing by rotating a thumb wheel disposed around the worm drive. Such linear movement is provided with a finger element extending from the worm drive that is configured to cooperate with an internal surface of the thumb wheel. With this arrangement, upon rotating the thumb wheel, the worm drive rotates with the finger element engaged with the internal surface of the thumb wheel to linearly move the cartridge toward the anvil.
Clip applier tool for use with a robotic surgical system
A clip applier tool for use with a robotic surgical system is disclosed. The clip applier tool comprises a housing, a shaft, an end effector, a firing chamber, a replaceable clip magazine, an articulation joint, an articulation drive configured to articulate the end effector, a rotation drive configured to rotate the shaft, and a firing drive. The housing comprises an interface for attachment to the robotic surgical system. The interface comprises rotatable inputs. The end effector comprises a crimping chamber. The replaceable clip magazine comprises a storage chamber, clips removably positioned in the storage chamber, and a biasing member configured to sequentially bias the clips from the storage chamber into the firing chamber. The firing drive is configured to advance a clip positioned in the firing chamber into the crimping chamber. The articulation drive, the rotation drive, and the firing drive are each operably coupled to different rotatable inputs.
MODULAR SWIVELING STRAP TIE SYSTEM
A strap tie includes a body including a receiving channel and a strap engagement member. The receiving channel extends through the body. The receiving channel is configured to receive a remote strap. The engagement member is configured to engage a movement restriction member of the remote strap to prevent translation of the remote strap away from the body. The strap extends from the body. The strap includes a proximal end attached to the body, a distal end opposite the proximal end, and a plurality of movement restriction members. The rotational element of the body is configured to removably couple to a base to allow the strap tie to rotate relative to the base.
Reduced-pressure, linear wound closing bolsters and systems
A reduced-pressure, linear-wound closing bolster has a pivotable frame that moves from an extended position to a compressed position under the influence of reduced pressure. The closing bolster may have a first closing member, a second closing member, and an interior space. A manifold member is disposed within the interior space and may be coupled to the pivotable frame. When a reduced pressure is applied, the pivotable frame is urged from the extended position to the compressed position. A first gripping member for transmitting a closing force from the first closing member to a first edge of a linear wound may be attached. Likewise, a second gripping member for transmitting a closing force from the second closing member to a second edge of the linear wound may be attached. Systems and methods are also presented.
