Non-invasive wound closure device
11779339 · 2023-10-10 · ·

Devices, tools, systems, kits and methods for closing a tissue opening non-invasively are presented. The devices include a tissue closure device that reliably induces eversion of tissue edges that define a tissue opening.

DEVICES FOR DEPLOYING TISSUE FASTENERS

The present invention is directed to a hand-held surgical device, operable by a single user, for deploying fasteners to close a wound or incision in tissue. The device includes tissue pinching and folding members operably controlled by the user during actuation of a trigger of the device, which can temporarily secure and expose inner surfaces of two edges of an incision or wound, where one of a plurality of fasteners can be inserted upon further actuation of the trigger, without crushing or causing undue trauma to the tissue.

EMPTY CLIP CARTRIDGE LOCKOUT

A surgical device for clipping tissue can include a replaceable cartridge comprising a stack of clips contained therein and a firing drive configured to reciprocatingly eject, or deploy, the clips from the cartridge. After the clips have been deployed from the cartridge, a blocking member can be positioned to impede or block the firing drive. In at least one embodiment, the cartridge can include a biasing member configured to bias the blocking member into a firing chamber defined in the cartridge and/or surgical device. The surgical device can also include a crimping drive configured to deform a clip after it has been ejected from the cartridge. The blocking member can also be configured to impede or block the crimping drive after all of the clips from the cartridge have been used.

CLOSING DEVICE FOR TISSUE OPENINGS

There are shown and described embodiments of a closure device for closing holes in tissue, for example in the right atrial appendage. The closure device in particular embodiments includes first and second mesh closure members and a tether or stem connecting them. Embodiments of a delivery device for the closure device are also described.

METHOD AND INSTRUMENT FOR TREATING OBESITY
20230293328 · 2023-09-21 ·

A gastroscopic method and instrument for treating obesity of a patient, using a device adapted to stretch a part of the stomach wall of said patient. The method comprises the steps of: inserting the device into the stomach through the esophagus, placing the device in contact with the stomach wall, and fixating the device to the stomach wall such that the device can stretch a part of the stomach wall.

A biocompatible implant for a method of treating a reflux disease in a patient by preventing the cardia sphincter from sliding through the patient's diaphragm hiatus opening into the patient's thorax, so as to maintain a pressure support from the patient's abdomen that supports the patient's cardia sphincter. The biocompatible implant has a rigid shape, a circumference of at least 15 mm and is configured to be introduced into the patent's abdomen through a trocar, be fully invaginatable in the patient's fundus wall, and function as an implantable movement restricting device preventing the cardia sphincter from sliding through the patient's diaphragm, when implanted.

TISSUE CLOSURE METHOD, CLIP DEVICE, AND OPERATION METHOD OF CLIP DEVICE

A tissue closure method comprises grasping a first portion of a tissue between a first arm and a central arm, restricting a sliding of a first slider while grasping the first portion, the first slider configured to open and close the first arm relative to the central arm, grasping a second portion of the tissue between a second arm and the central arm while restricting the sliding of the first slider, indwelling the first arm, the second arm, and the central arm in a body.

APPARATUS FOR TREATING GERD
20230240831 · 2023-08-03 ·

An apparatus for the treatment of acid reflux disease comprising two or more movement restriction device segments adapted to be movement restriction device of a controlled size. The movement restriction device can at least partly be invaginated by a patient's stomach fundus wall. A substantial part of the outer surface of the movement restriction device is adapted to rest against the stomach wall without injuring the latter in a position between the patient's diaphragm and at least a portion of the lower part of the invaginated stomach fundus wall, such that movement of the cardiac notch of the patient's stomach towards the patient's diaphragm is restricted, to thereby prevent the cardia from sliding through the patient's diaphragm opening into the patient's thorax, so as to maintain the supporting pressure against the patient's cardia sphincter muscle exerted from the patient's abdomen.

An implantable device for the treatment of acid reflux disease has a body including an outer surface adapted to rest against a patient's fundus wall. The device, when implanted in the patient, fills a volume in the patient's abdomen in the cardia area and above the cardia of the patient, when standing. The body prevents the cardia from moving through the diaphragm opening into the thorax, thereby preventing reflux by keeping the abdominal pressure supporting the cardia sphincter muscle. The device may be affixed to stomach tissue. The device may also be invaginated or otherwise indirectly secured in position.
