HEMOSTATIC CLIPPING DEVICES AND METHODS
A tissue clipping apparatus, comprises a flexible, elongate member, a proximal end of which remains external to the body accessible to a user while a distal end of the flexible member is inserted into the body to a location adjacent to target tissue to be clipped and a control wire extending through the flexible member in combination with a capsule releasably coupled to a distal end of the flexible member and a clip a proximal portion of which is received within the capsule. A joint releasably coupling the clip to the control wire, includes a yoke extending around a proximal end of the clip and a frangible link which fails when subject to a predetermined force to separate the clip from the control wire.
ENDOSCOPIC CLIP DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS FOR MUCOSAL DEFECT AND TRANSMURAL PERFORATION CLOSURE
An endoscopic clip device for closure of a mucosal defect or transmural perforation in a gastrointestinal wall may include a sleeve and a clip disposed at least partially within and coupled to the sleeve. The clip may be configured for reversibly moving between an open configuration for positioning relative to the wall and a closed configuration for closing the defect or perforation. The clip may include a first clip arm configured for engaging the mucosal and submucosal layers of the wall and including a first needle extending to a distal end of the first clip arm and configured for advancing through the mucosal layer and into at least the submucosal layer, and a second clip arm disposed opposite the first clip arm and configured for engaging the mucosal layer. The device may be configured for advancing through an operative channel of an endoscope or overtube having a tortuous shape.
SURGICAL STAPLER WITH REMOVABLE POWER PACK
A surgical fastener applier including a housing containing a compartment, an elongated member extending distally from the housing, first and second jaws and a firing mechanism positioned within the housing. The firing mechanism is movable between a first position and a second position to effect firing of fasteners into the tissue clamped between the first and second jaws. A cover on the housing is openable to access the compartment. A power pack is removably loadable into the compartment, the power pack having a motor and an engagement member removably engageable with the firing mechanism within the compartment when the power pack is loaded into the compartment to effect movement of the firing mechanism from the first position to the second firing position.
METHOD OF HUB COMMUNICATION WITH SURGICAL INSTRUMENT SYSTEMS
A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical suturing instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite is disclosed. The method comprises gathering data during surgical procedures, wherein the surgical procedures include the use of a surgical suturing instrument comprising a suturing needle configured to be mechanically advanced through a suturing stroke, analyzing the gathered data to determine an appropriate operational adjustment of the surgical suturing instrument, and adjusting the operation of the surgical suturing instrument to improve the operation of the surgical suturing instrument.
ENDOSCOPIC SUTURING METHOD AND MEDICAL INSTRUMENT
An endoscopic suturing method includes penetrating an indwelling member into a first portion of a mucous membrane, moving the indwelling member toward a second portion of the mucous membrane while pushing the first portion of the mucous membrane and penetrating the indwelling member into the second portion of the mucous membrane with the indwelling member penetrated into the first portion of the mucous membrane, and leaving the indwelling member in a body in a state in which the indwelling member penetrates the first portion of the mucous membrane and the second portion of the mucous membrane.
Clip systems for treating body tissues
A device for compressing body tissue includes a clip having a connection portion with first and second clip arms extending therefrom, the clip includes a recess formed on an inner surface of the connection portion, the recess being shaped and sized to slidably receive a mounting bar coupled to an outer surface of an endoscope on which the mounting bar is mounted with inner surfaces of the first and second clip arms maintained in an open position by contact between an endoscope on which the mounting bar is mounted and the inner surfaces of the first and second clip arms. The clip is slidable over the outer surface of an endoscope on which the mounting bar is mounted until the clip moves distally beyond the distal end of the endoscope so that the first and second clip arms spring closed to grip tissue therebetween.
Surgical staple and instrument for holding and implanting the surgical staple
A surgical staple insertion system for compressing bone fragments includes a staple and an insertion tool. The staple has first and second legs and an elastically deformable bridge monolithically formed with the first and second legs. In a relaxed configuration, the free ends of the first and second legs are positioned closer to one another than are portions of the first and second legs connected to the bridge. The insertion tool retains the bridge in an elastically deformed configuration with the legs positioned relatively farther apart from one another during at least portion of the step of implantation of the staple. Then, the insertion tool is released from the staple so that the bone fragments between the legs are subject to compression.
SURGICAL LIGATION CLIP
A surgical clip may be configured to ligate tissue. The surgical clip may include first and second leg members. The first leg member may have a proximal portion, a distal portion, a convex first inner surface, and a convex first outer surface. The first leg member may also include an inner portion at least partially defining the first inner surface and an outer portion at least partially defining the first outer surface. The inner and outer portions may be joined at first and second portions of the first leg member and separated by a channel. The second leg member may include a proximal portion, a distal portion, a second inner surface, and a second outer surface. The first and second leg members may be movable relative to each other between open and closed configurations, and the first and second inner surfaces may be configured to ligate the tissue when in the closed configuration.
Clip Device with Separable Connection and Having Variable Connection Force
A clip device with separable connection and having variable connection force, comprising a clipping portion and a delivery portion. The clipping portion comprises at least two side clipping arms and a clipping base. The side clipping arms are provided in the clipping base, and the proximal ends of the side clipping arms are connected to a control wire. A connection member for fixation and a connection member for separation are provided on the clipping portion. A distal end of the control wire is provided with a releaser, and the tail ends of the side clipping arms are connected to the releaser. During a clipping process, the side clipping arms may apply a larger gripping force on clipped tissues. During a releasing process, the control wire is ensured to apply a smaller dragging force, so as to separate the tail ends of the side clipping arms and the releaser.
BRAIDED HEMOSTASIS SHAFT FOR IMPROVED TORSIONAL RESPONSE
A medical insertion device includes an elongated shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end and having flexibility sufficient for insertion through a working channel of an endoscope along a tortuous path. The elongated shaft includes a coil extending from the proximal end to the distal end and having a channel extending longitudinally therethrough and a braided portion extending around a portion of the coil, the braided portion including a plurality of lines wound together such that first and second ones of the lines intersect to enclose a predetermined angle therebetween, the angle being between 25 and 55 degrees.
