DEVICES AND METHODS FOR REDUCING THE APPEARANCE OF CELLULITE

Disclosed herein are methods and devices for the treatment of cellulite. The methods comprise cutting the septae connecting the dermis from the underlying fascia, reducing the appearance of dimples and applying a patch to the skin over the cut septae to hold in place or remodel the skin to allow it to heal in the desired shape and to minimize the recurrence of dimples.

Wound closure device

A wound dressing for use in the application of negative pressure to a wound, comprising a support member and a cover member positionable over the wound in use. The support member can have a first support element having a first portion aligned with a first axis and a body portion coupled with and extending away from the first portion, and a second support element having a first portion aligned with the first axis and a body portion coupled with and extending away from the first portion of the second support element. At least the body portion of each of the first support element and the second support element can be independently rotatable about the first axis. The support member can support at least a middle portion of the cover member above a surface of the wound so as to define a space between the wound cover and the wound.

A medical device for at least partially covering and applying force on tissue includes a body having a spanning structure and struts respectively connected to lateral portions of the spanning structure. Inner ends of the struts extend into an area over which the medial portion of the spanning structure extends. The medical device is reconfigurable between extended and retracted configurations. The inner ends of the struts are closer to one another in the retracted configuration than in the extended configuration. The inner ends of the struts are closer to the medial portion of the spanning structure in the retracted configuration than in the extended configuration. Each strut includes an engagement zone configured to engage and apply force on the tissue, at least while the medical device is in the retracted configuration. A web can be connected to the struts and span between the inner ends of the struts.

Mesh dispenser

A dispensing device configured to operate with an adhesive backed mesh and backing film for tissue bonding is disclosed. The dispensing device provides for low-friction, low force pay-out of a desired length of an adhesive backed mesh to a wound site. The device prevents or eliminates distortion of the mesh prior to application to the wound site, and includes means for reducing or eliminating binding during use. The dispensing device is configured to operate in a “forward” mode (substrate to which mesh is applied passes beneath applicator after mesh is applied) to provide essentially an unobstructed view of the wound site during use.

ARTICLE OF MANUFACTURE AND METHOD FOR INCURSION CLOSURE
20170303911 · 2017-10-26 ·

An article of manufacture in the form of an incursion repair material arranged to establish a watertight seal about an incursion such as a durotomy and secured in place by a securing mechanism. The incursion material may be graft material and/or a flange of selectable shape and size and made of a material suitable to remain in position on the incursion. The incursion repair material is used in a surgical procedure to seal the incursion. The material may be secured in place with one or more sutures only. It may also be secured in place with devices anchored in underlying substrate, such as bone or scar tissue.

TISSUE CLOSING METHOD AND APPARATUS
20170296161 · 2017-10-19 ·

An apparatus for opening or closing a tissue opening in a biological subject, the apparatus including at least two flexible arms coupled to a tissue surface in use, each arm being curved outwardly in a mid-portion to accommodate a tissue opening therebetween and a biasing mechanism that selectively biases opposing ends of each arm to thereby at least one of bias mid-portions of the arms apart to assist in at least partially opening the tissue opening; and bias mid-portions of the arms towards each other to assist in at least partially closing the tissue opening.

Retaining device and method of using the same

A retaining device configured for retaining at least one medical device adjacent to a supporting surface. The retaining device includes a plate shaped holding portion defining a peripheral edge, a slot extending from the peripheral edge defining a loading channel, and communicating with an internal holding area. The internal holding area is dimensioned to accept the largest medical device the retaining device is configured to be used with. An attachment mechanism is connected to the holding portion to secure the retaining device to a supporting surface. A section of medical device may be inserted into and along the loading channel to enter the holding area and be retained within.

BAND FOR SURGICAL WOUND SUTURE
20220031325 · 2022-02-03 ·

The present invention provides a band for surgical wound suture including a first band having a first left band and a first right band and a second band located above the first band and having a second left band and a second right band, in which the first left band is connected to the second right band, and the second right band is connected to the first left band. The band for surgical wound suture of the present invention provides advantages that an incision may be sutured by a simple operation of pulling the left and right bands to the left and right and attaching them, a feeling of heterogeneity after a suturing procedure may be minimized with a suturing device having a small volume and having almost no hard parts, and furthermore, the incision may be joined and firmly fixed by a wide and sturdy joint joined to both sides of the incision.
