The invention primarily relates to fastening and stabilizing tissues, implants, and/or bondable materials, such as the fastening of a tissue and/or implant to a bondable material, the fastening of an implant to tissue, and/or the fastening of an implant to another implant. This may involve using an energy source to bond and/or mechanically to stabilize a tissue, an implant, a bondable material, and/or other biocompatible material. The invention may also relate to the use of an energy source to remove and/or install an implant and/or bondable material or to facilitate solidification and/or polymerization of bondable material.

ANASTOMOSIS DEVICES

Implantable medical devices for connecting tissue layers or occluding body conduits and tissue structures include apposition portions, a central region, and a covering material. The methods of using the devices include endoscopic deployment, and the devices may include self-expanding frameworks that facilitate a secure connection between the tissue structures. In some embodiments, one or more tethers are used to longitudinally contract the device in situ.

ADJUSTABLE IMPLANTABLE DEVICES AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

The present technology includes systems and methods for invasively adjusting implantable devices for selectively controlling fluid flow between a first body region and a second body region of a patient. For example, in many of the embodiments described herein, a catheter can be used to mechanically and/or electrically engage an implanted medical device. Once the catheter engages the medical device, the catheter can (i) increase a dimension associated with the medical device, such as through mechanical expansion forces, and/or (ii) decrease a dimension associated with the medical device, such as by heating a shape memory component of the medical device above a phase transition temperature.

TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT SHAPE MEMORY POLYMER

The present invention relates to a shape memory polymer that can be restored to an original shape from a deformed shape by means of body temperature in the body. When using the shape memory polymer of the present invention and a device for wrapping the outer wall of blood vessels prepared thereby, it is possible to effectively prevent abnormal blood vessel dilatation, and prevent stenosis by effectively inhibiting neointimal formation.

Surgical conduit anastomosis suture tensioning device

The invention discloses a surgical conduit anastomosis suture tensioning device, which comprises a tube A and a tube B, wherein the tube A is a preset tube, and the tube B is a suture hooking tube; the preset tube comprises a connector, a first crossbar and a first tail, the first crossbar is arranged between the connector and the first tail, the connector is vertical to the first crossbar and magnetic, and a plurality of grooves are evenly distributed on the surface of the first crossbar; the suture hooking tube comprises a suture hooking head, a second crossbar and a second tail, the second crossbar is arranged between the suture hooking head and the second tail, the suture hooking head is vertical to the second crossbar and magnetic, a suture hooking slot is arranged at the tip of the suture hooking head in a forky form, the surface of the second crossbar is smooth and free from grooves, and the second tail has the same structure as the first tail. The invention relates to the technical field of surgical suture tensioning device, in particular provides a surgical conduit anastomosis suture tensioning device, which can effectively improve the continuous conduit suture efficiency and precision, promote uniform anastomotic healing, and reduce anastomotic stenosis caused by scars.

A system and method for increasing the speed of blood and wall shear stress (WSS) in a peripheral vein for a sufficient period of time to result in a persistent increase in the overall diameter and lumen diameter of the vein is provided. The method includes pumping blood at a desired rate and pulsatility. The pumping is monitored and adjusted, as necessary, to maintain the desired blood speed, WSS and pulsatility in the peripheral vein in order to optimize the rate and extent of dilation of the peripheral vein.

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for guiding a needle to facilitate suturing, such as in surgical anastomosis. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a frame configured to counter-rotatably support two generally parallel rollers. A first roller supported by the frame has a flat surface configured to rollably engage a first face of a shaft of a helically-shaped needle. A second roller supported by the frame has a grooved surface defining a helical groove is configured to at least partially receive a second face of the shaft. The second roller further defines a correcting recess bounded by lateral surfaces at a forward end of the groove that tapers to a width of the groove at the forward end. When the leading end is received into the correcting recess, at least one of the lateral surfaces engages and guides the leading end into the forward end of the groove.
