PURSE-STRING APPLICATOR FOR CIRCULAR STAPLING INSTRUMENTS
A purse-string applicator for use in an anastomosis procedure includes an introducer sleeve, a handle assembly, and a support ring. The introducer sleeve includes a tubular body portion having proximal and distal portions. A handle portion is disposed on the proximal portion of the tubular body, and an introducer portion is disposed on the distal portion of the tubular body. The handle assembly includes an elongate shaft portion and a release mechanism. The release mechanism is positionable distal of the distal portion of the introducer sleeve. The support ring is releasably engageable by the release mechanism of the handle assembly and includes an annular body portion and first and second rim portions. The release mechanism releasably retains the support ring adjacent the distal portion of the introducer sleeve. The purse-string applicator may be included in a kit along with an anvil assembly, an adapter assembly, and/or a circular stapling instrument.
Flow control valve
The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices and establishing fluid communication between body lumens. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices and methods for establishing a controlled flow or access passage between body lumens.
Purse suturing device for hollow viscus
A purse suturing device includes a circular stapler having a tubular stapler head adapted to be inserted inside a section of the hollow viscus to be sutured, a handle with an actuator connected to the stapler head, and an anvil against which the staples may be folded. The anvil has a pole adapted to be inserted into the tubular stapler head. A suturing thread is wound around the hollow viscus and tightened, causing a section of the hollow viscus to be tightened around the pole. The tightened section also includes a pursed, or folded, section of the wall of the hollow viscus, in which two layers of the wall of the hollow viscus are stapled together.
Apparatus and method for cinching a straight staple line
An apparatus includes an end effector including an anvil and lower jaw. The anvil is pivotable toward the lower jaw to capture tissue. The apparatus further includes a stapling and severing assembly configured to sever and staple tissue clamped between the anvil and the lower jaw. A staple cartridge is coupled with the lower jaw. The staple cartridge includes a deck facing the anvil, a plurality of staples positioned in a plurality of staple openings formed through the deck, and a cinching feature positioned on the deck. At least a portion of the cinching feature is configured to be captured by the staples as the staples are driven out of the staple openings in response to activation of the stapling and severing mechanism. The cinching feature is configured to cinch severed and stapled tissue.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR ADJUSTING A PASSAGE THROUGH AN IMPLANTABLE DEVICE
An implantable device having an adjustable passage therethrough. The passage may be adjustable to occlude or otherwise to regulate access or flow of materials therethrough. An elongated element may be inserted into the passage when in a closed configuration to selectively open the passage. For instance, the implantable device may be a tubular device with a twisted region closing the passage therethrough, and the elongated device may be configured to engage such twisted region and to be rotated to untwist the closed region. An additional tubular device with a passage therethrough may be inserted into the passage of the implantable device to hold open the passage for a selected period of time.
Complex surgical device for carrying out and protecting an anastomosis
A surgical device for carrying out an anastomosis in the intestine, including a protective device having an anchor element consisting of a stent and a flexible outer sheath, and an introducer including a first deformable guide tube, where the downstream end of the outer sheath is connected to the first guide tube or to a first connecting piece, the outer sheath being folded inside the first deformable guide tube, and the stent being held in radial compression inside the first deformable guide tube.
Endoscopic transluminal stent access and delivery system
Aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward apparatuses, systems, and methods for stent access and device delivery. In certain instances, the apparatuses, systems, and methods may include a plurality of struts arranged about the one or more cutting blades on a tip portion.

A method for controlling an operation of an ultrasonic blade of an ultrasonic electromechanical system is disclosed. The method includes providing an ultrasonic electromechanical system comprising an ultrasonic transducer coupled to an ultrasonic blade via an ultrasonic waveguide; applying, by an energy source, a power level to the ultrasonic transducer; determining, by a control circuit coupled to a memory, a mechanical property of the ultrasonic electromechanical system; comparing, by the control circuit, the mechanical property with a reference mechanical property stored in the memory; and adjusting, by the control circuit, the power level applied to the ultrasonic transducer based on the comparison of the mechanical property with the reference mechanical property.
Method for anastomosing alimentary tract
A method for anastomosing an alimentary tract according to a first aspect of the invention includes a first step of inserting an endoscope into an alimentary tract through a natural opening in a state where a distal end part of a tube body is coupled to an outer periphery of a distal end part of the endoscope; a second step of making a hole in a tract wall of the alimentary tract; a third step of inserting the tube body through the hole; a fourth step of grasping the distal end part of the tube body disposed through the hole; a fifth step of separating the tube body from an outer periphery of the distal end part of the endoscope; and a sixth step of delivering the treatment part up to the hole after the fifth step.
