DISTILLATION PROCESS
By incorporating an additional TCS and/or DCS redistribution reactor in the TCS recycle loop and/or DCS recycle loop, respectively, of a process and system for silane manufacture, efficiencies in the production of silane are realized. Further improvements in efficiencies may be realized by directing a portion of the product from a redistribution reactor into a distillation column, and specifically into the distillation column that formed the feedstock that went into the redistribution reactor.
SILICON-CARBON COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A silicon-carbon composite material includes a matrix core, a silicon-carbon composite shell formed by uniformly dispersing nano silicon particles in conductive carbon, and a coating layer. The nano silicon particles are formed by high-temperature pyrolysis of a silicon source, and the conductive carbon is formed by high-temperature pyrolysis of an organic carbon source. The coating layer is a carbon coating layer including at least one layer, and the thickness of its single layer is 0.2-3 μm. A silicon-carbon composite material precursor is formed by simultaneous vapor deposition and is then subjected to carbon coating to form the pitaya-like silicon-carbon composite material which has advantages of high first-cycle efficiency, low expansion and long cycle. The grain growth of the silicon material is slowed down during the heat treatment process, the pulverization of the material is effectively avoided, and the cycle performance, conductivity and rate performance of the material are enhanced.

METHOD OF PRODUCING NANOPARTICLES
Disclosed is a method for producing silicon nanoparticles in a plasma reactor including a reaction chamber presenting an inner surface. The method includes introducing a halogen gas into the reaction chamber of the plasma reactor. The method further includes igniting a plasma within the reaction chamber while the halogen gas is present within the reaction chamber. Atoms of the halogen gas at least partially form a coating on the inure surface of the reaction chamber. The method includes introducing a reactant gas mixture including a silicon precursor gas and a first inert gas into the reaction chamber of the plasma reactor. The method also includes forming the silicon nanoparticles in the plasma reactor. A silicon nanoparticles composition is also disclosed. The silicon nanoparticles composition comprises the silicon nanoparticles produced according to the method.

HIGH PERFORMANCE SILICON-BASED MATERIALS FOR LITHIUM ION BATTERY ANODES
Amorphous silicon carbon composite particles contain, as components of the particles, 85 to 99.63 wt.-% silicon content, 0.3 to 15 wt.-% carbon content, and at least 0.07 wt.-% hydrogen content, where the components sum up to 100 wt.-%. The carbon content in the area beneath the surface of the particles, starting from the surface and reaching up to at least 30 nm from the surface in a direction to the centre of the particles, is at least 3 wt.-% higher than in the area of the centre of the particles. The area of the centre is the remaining part of the particles and is directly joined to the area beneath the surface.
