METAL INJECTION MOLDED ANVIL FOR CIRCULAR SURGICAL STAPLER
A method is used to manufacture an anvil of a circular surgical stapler. The anvil includes a head and a coupling feature that extends proximally from the head. The method includes forming each of the head and the coupling feature using at least one metal injection molding process. The method also includes after forming the coupling feature, machining a through bore into the coupling feature that extends completely through the coupling feature along a longitudinal axis of the coupling feature.
EXTRACELLULAR MATRIX DEVICES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
Systems, devices, and methods for treating a nerve injury in a patient are provided herein. The system includes an extracellular matrix, a neutralizing element, and a reconstituting element. The extracellular matrix is configured to promote and/or sustain the growth of tissue and/or associated tissue properties proximate the nerve injury.
ENDOVASCULAR APPARATUS FOR PERFUSING ORGANS IN A BODY
In one representative embodiment, a method of perfusing organs in a patient's body is provided. The method comprises isolating the visceral arteries and the visceral veins from blood circulating through the patient's heart and perfusing the visceral arteries, the visceral veins, and the abdominal organs with a perfusion fluid that is fluidly separated from the blood circulating through the patient's heart. While the visceral arteries and the visceral veins are isolated, and the visceral arteries, the visceral veins, and the abdominal organs are being perfused, the patient's blood is allowed to continue to circulate through the heart.
DEVICE AND ASSEMBLY FOR REPAIRING SOFT TISSUES, FOR EXAMPLE TENDONS AND LIGAMENTS
A bio-compatible and bio-resorbable implantable device for repairing soft tissue which has a first plate and a second plate and a plurality of connecting elements for connecting the first and second plates is provided. The first plate has a first surface suitable for being placed on a first side of the soft tissue. The second plate has a second surface suitable for being placed on a second side of the soft tissue. Each connecting element has a first portion integral with the first plate and a second portion integral with the second plate. The connecting elements extend from at least one of the first surface of the first plate and the second surface of the second plate to reach the other one of the first surface of the first plate and second surface of the second plate for locking the first and second plates in a definable respective position.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR REPAIRING SOFT TISSUE AND ATTACHING SOFT TISSUE TO BONE
Devices, systems and/or methods for repairing soft tissue adjacent a repair site. In one embodiment, a repair device includes a plate member and an anchor. The plate member having a periphery, the plate member configured to be positioned along an outer surface of the soft tissue. The anchor includes a base and six legs extending from the base, the six legs extending from the base being moveable to a curled configuration such that the six legs wrap around separate portions of the periphery of the plate member with the soft tissue therebetween. In this manner, the repair device may be anchored to the soft tissue.
INDICATION OF THE COUPLE PAIR OF REMOTE CONTROLS WITH REMOTE DEVICES FUNCTIONS
A method of assessing inter-device communication pairing in a surgical setting, may include transmitting, by a first intelligent medical device, wireless communication data within the surgical setting, receiving, by a second intelligent medical device, the wireless communication data from the first intelligent medical device, determining, by the second intelligent medical device, communication pairing data indicative of an inter-device communication pairing of the second intelligent medical device with the first intelligent medical device, transmitting, by the second intelligent medical device, the communication pairing data to a modular control tower, and displaying, by the modular control tower on a display device, an augmented reality display comprising one or more virtual objects indicative of the inter-device communication pairing. An interactive surgical system may include multiple intelligent medical devices and displays which can form communication pairs in this manner.
MEDIASTINUM ACCESS DEVICES AND METHODS
Devices and methods are described for accessing the mediastinum without an intercostal incision and without deflating the lungs. In some embodiments, the devices and methods facilitate mediastinal access via a single percutaneous needle puncture. In some embodiments, a first puncture below the ribs or sternum, and a second puncture that is intercostal are used. Devices and methods to facilitate concurrent access to the pericardial and mediastinal spaces are also described. Multiple minimally invasive procedures are described that advantageously utilize the pericardial and mediastinal space access procedures.
Luminal grafts and methods of making and using the same
Luminal grafts and methods of making and using the same. An exemplary luminal graft of the present disclosure is configured as a generally tubular element configured for nerve cells to grow therethrough and comprises at least one sheet of biological tissue having elastin fibers and collagen fibers, with the elastin fibers being a dominant component thereof; and a plurality of microchannels formed on a surface of the at least one sheet of biological tissue, each of the microchannels extending longitudinally between a first end and a second end of the at least one sheet of biological tissue and configured to provide intraluminal structural guidance to nerve cells proliferating therethrough.
Circular surgical stapler for forming pattern of non-tangential staples
A surgical stapling instrument includes an anvil and a stapling head assembly. The anvil defines staple forming pockets. The stapling head assembly includes a body, a coupling member, a firing assembly, and a staple deck. The coupling member is configured to actuate relative to the body to thereby acuate the anvil relative to the body. The firing assembly is configured to drive staples against the staple forming pockets of the anvil. The staple deck is defined by an outer arched perimeter and an inner arched perimeter fixed to the body. The staple deck defines staple openings. At least one non-tangential staple opening in the of staple openings extends along a longitudinal axis in a non-tangential relationship with a closest tangent line of the inner arched perimeter or the outer arched perimeter.
Apparatus for irrigating the vas deferens
An apparatus for irrigating the vas deferens in connection with a vasectomy reversal is described. The apparatus comprises a fluid delivery device having a first portion that connects to the vas deferens, the fluid delivery device connecting such that a catheter tip inserts into the vas deferens and is held in stable position relative thereto and such that fluid enters the vas deferens through the catheter tip.
