DRY REFORMING METHANE AND HYDROCARBON MIXTURE FEEDSTOCKS USING CERIA-SUPPORTED METAL CATALYSTS
Provided herein are catalyst materials and processes for processing hydrocarbons. For example, doped ceria-supported metal catalysts are provided exhibiting good activity and stability for commercially relevant dry reforming of methane as well as mixed hydrocarbon feedstocks under process conditions including low temperature and long term operation. Useful doped ceria-supported metal catalysts include nickel dispersed over Ti-doped ceria.
Reactor and Method for Carrying Out a Chemical Reaction
A reactor includes a reactor vessel and one or more reaction tubes A number of tube sections of the one or more reaction tubes in each case run between a first region and a second region in the reactor vessel. For the electrical heating of the tube sections, the tube sections in the first region can be electrically connected to (a) current connection(s) of a current source. In the first region, current feed arrangements are provided; in each case one or in each case one group of the tube sections are electrically connected, and each comprise (a) contact passage(s) that in each case adjoin(s) at least one of the tube sections in the first region. A wall of the contact passages in each case is connected to a current feed element that has a rod-shaped section that runs at a wall passage through a wall of the reactor vessel.
Reactor and Method for Carrying Out a Chemical Reaction
A reactor for carrying out a chemical reaction, which has a reactor vessel and one or more reaction tubes, wherein power input elements for electrical heating of the reaction tube(s) are guided into the reactor vessel. It is provided that the power input elements each have a rod-shaped section that, in each case, runs at a wall passage through a wall of the reactor vessel in such a way that a connection chamber into which the rod-shaped sections project is arranged outside the reactor vessel and adjacently to the wall of the reactor vessel through which the rod-shaped sections run at their wall passages, and that cooling panels through which a cooling fluid can flow are provided in the connection chamber and are arranged between at least two or between at least two groups of the rod-shaped sections that project into the connection chamber.
Air-to-syngas systems and processes
Techniques for converting carbonate material to carbon monoxide include transferring heat and at least one feed stream that includes a carbonate material and at least one of hydrogen, oxygen, water, or a hydrocarbon, into an integrated calcination and syngas production system that includes a syngas generating calciner (SGC) reactor; calcining the carbonate material to produce a carbon dioxide product and a solid oxide product; initiating a syngas production reaction; producing, from the syngas production reaction, at least one syngas product that includes at least one of a carbon monoxide product, a water product or a hydrogen product; and transferring at least one of the solid oxide product or the at least one syngas product out of the SGC reactor.
HYDROCARBON REFORMING CATALYST AND HYDROCARBON REFORMING APPARATUS
A hydrocarbon reforming catalyst used for forming a synthetic gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide from a hydrocarbon-based gas, the hydrocarbon reforming catalyst containing a complex oxide having a perovskite structure, wherein the complex oxide has a crystal phase containing SrZrO.sub.3 as a primary component and contains Ru.
COMBINED REFORMING APPARATUS
A combined reforming apparatus is provided. The combined reforming apparatus includes a body, a plurality of first catalyst tubes disposed inside the body and reacting at a first temperature to reform hydrocarbons (C.sub.xH.sub.y) having two or more carbon atoms into methane (CH.sub.4), a plurality of second catalyst tubes disposed inside the body, connected to the plurality of first catalyst tubes, and reacting at a second temperature higher than the first temperature to reform methane (CH.sub.4) into synthesis gas containing hydrogen (H.sub.2) and carbon monoxide (CO), a combustion unit configured to supply heat to the plurality of first catalyst tubes and the plurality of second catalyst tubes, and a first distributor configured to connect the plurality of first catalyst tubes to each of the second catalyst tubes to distribute steam and gas discharged from the plurality of first catalyst tubes to the plurality of second catalyst tubes.
COMBINED REFORMING APPARATUS
A combined reforming apparatus is provided. The combined reforming apparatus includes a body, a first catalyst tube disposed inside the body and reacting at a first temperature to reform hydrocarbons (CA) having two or more carbon atoms into methane (CH.sub.4), a second catalyst tube disposed inside the body, connected to the first catalyst tube, and reacting at a second temperature higher than the first temperature to reform methane (CH.sub.4) into synthesis gas comprising hydrogen (H.sub.2) and carbon monoxide (CO), a combustion unit configured to supply heat to the first and second catalyst tubes, a gas supply pipe configured to supply hydrocarbon gas to the first catalyst tube, a first steam supply pipe configured to supply steam to the first catalyst tube, and a second steam supply pipe configured to supply steam to the second catalyst tube.
METHOD AND FACILITY FOR PRODUCING A TARGET COMPOUND
Disclosed is a method for the producingtiona target compoundby oxidative coupling of methane. A starting gas mixture is provided which contains an olefin, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and optionally hydrogen, wherein the olefin is subjected to hydroformylation with the carbon monoxide and the hydrogen of the starting mixture to obtain an aldehyde, wherein the paraffin and the olefin have a carbon chain with a first carbon number and the aldehyde has a carbon chain with a second carbon number which is greater by one than the first carbon number. The carbon dioxide present in the starting mixture is removed upstream and/or downstream of the hydroformylation. The carbon dioxide is subjected to dry reforming with methane to obtain carbon monoxide, and that the carbon monoxide subjected to hydroformylation comprises at least part of the carbon monoxide obtained in the dry reforming .
Hydrogen reforming system
A hydrogen reforming system is provided and includes a steam reforming system, a dry reforming system, and a water supply device. The steam reforming system is configured to (i) receive a raw material gas and react the raw material gas with water to generate a first mixed gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide, (ii) react the first mixed gas with the water to generate hydrogen and carbon dioxide, and (iii) discharge hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The dry reforming system is configured to (i) receive and react the raw material gas and the carbon dioxide discharged from the steam reforming system to generate a second mixed gas containing hydrogen, (ii) react the second mixed gas with the water to generate hydrogen and carbon dioxide, and (iii) discharge hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The water supply device is configured to supply the water to the steam reforming system and the dry reforming system.
RECYCLE CONTENT HYDROGEN
A hydrogen composition having a recycle content value is obtained by processing a recycle content feedstock to make a recycle content hydrogen or by deducting from a recycle inventory a recycle content value applied to a hydrogen composition. At least a portion of the recycle content value in the feedstock or in an allotment obtained by a hydrogen manufacturer has its origin in recycled waste plastics.
