Herein discussed is a hydrogen production system comprising: a catalytic partial oxidation (CPDX) reactor; a steam generator; and an electrochemical (EC) reactor; wherein the CPDX reactor product stream is introduced into the EC reactor and the steam generator provides steam to the EC reactor; and wherein the product stream and the steam do not come in contact with each other in the EC reactor. In an embodiment, the EC reactor generates a first product stream comprising CO and CO.sub.2 and a second product stream comprising H.sub.2 and H.sub.2O, wherein the two product streams do not come in contact with each other.
Hydrogen production with membrane reformer
A system and method for producing hydrogen from hydrocarbon and steam, including a membrane reformer with multiple membrane reactors each having a tubular membrane. The bore of the tubular membrane is the permeate side for the hydrogen. The region external to the tubular membrane is the retentate side for carbon dioxide. A sweep gas flows through the bore to displace hydrogen in a direction countercurrent to flow of hydrocarbon and steam in the region external to the tubular membrane. The method includes discharging hydrogen as permeate with the sweep gas from the bore, and discharging carbon dioxide in the region external to the tubular membrane as retentate from the membrane reactor.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR POWER PRODUCTION WITH INTEGRATED PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods useful for power production. In particular, a power production cycle utilizing CO.sub.2 as a working fluid may be configured for simultaneous hydrogen production. Beneficially, substantially all carbon arising from combustion in power production and hydrogen production is captured in the form of carbon dioxide. Further, produced hydrogen (optionally mixed with nitrogen received from an air separation unit) can be input as fuel in a gas turbine combined cycle unit for additional power production therein without any atmospheric CO.sub.2 discharge.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a molding comprising a mixed oxide comprising O, Mg, and Ni, the process comprising: —(i) mixing water, a Mg source, a Ni source, and an acid, to obtain a mixture; —(ii) subjecting the mixture obtained from (i) to a shaping process; —(iii) calcining the molding obtained from (ii) in a gas atmosphere having a temperature in the range of from 700 to 1400° C.; wherein the molar ratio of the acid used in (i) to Ni, calculated as elemental Ni, of the Ni source used in (i), acid:Ni, is equal to or higher than 0.001:1. Further, the present invention relates to a molding comprising a mixed oxide comprising O, Mg, and Ni, wherein the mixed oxide comprises a specific crystalline phase Ni.sub.xMg.sub.yO, wherein the sum of x and y is 1, and wherein y is greater than 0.52. The molding is used for reforming methane to a synthesis gas comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide.
Processing facility to produce hydrogen and petrochemicals
A processing facility is provided that includes a feedstock separation system configured to separate a feed stream into a lights stream and a heavies stream, a hydrogen production system configured to produce hydrogen and carbon dioxide from the lights stream, and a carbon dioxide conversion system configured to produce synthetic hydrocarbons or the carbon dioxide. The processing facility also includes a hydroprocessing system configured to process the heavies stream, and a hydroprocessor separation system configured to separate a hydroprocessing system effluent into a separator tops stream and a separator bottoms stream, wherein the separator bottoms stream is fed to the hydrogen production system.
Hydrogen production with membrane reformer
A system and method of producing hydrogen, including converting hydrocarbon to methane via steam and pre-reforming catalyst in a pre-reformer, converting the methane to hydrogen and carbon dioxide by steam reforming via a reforming catalyst in a membrane reformer, diffusing through hydrogen through a tubular membrane in the membrane reformer.
Hydrogen generator
A hydrogen generator having a reforming catalyst that causes hydrocarbon gas and steam to carry out a reforming reaction and reform into a hydrogen rich reformed gas, a reformer that is filled with said reforming catalyst and in which said reforming reaction is carried out, and a combustion chamber for combusting a fuel gas and obtaining reaction heat that is applied to said reforming reaction. At least the reforming region carrying out the reforming reaction is disposed inside the combustion chamber. A steam generator that introduces steam into the reformer is provided outside the combustion chamber.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SYNTHESIS GAS WITH REDUCED STEAM EXPORT
A process is proposed for producing synthesis gas with reduced steam export by catalytic steam reforming of a hydrocarbonaceous feed gas with steam in a multitude of reformer tubes in a burner-heated reformer furnace to form a steam reforming flue gas. This process includes a configuration of the reformer tubes as reformer tubes with internal heat exchange and the use of a structured catalyst. For amounts of export steam between 0 and 0.8 kg of export steam per m.sub.N.sup.3 of hydrogen produced, these features interact synergistically when particular steam reforming conditions are selected.
