Medical device comprising an artificial contractile structure
A medical device is provided including an artificial contractile structure which may be used to assist the functioning of a hollow organ. The medical device includes an artificial contractile structure including at least one contractile element configured to contract an organ, in such way that the contractile element is in a resting or in an activated position, at least one actuator configured to activate the contractile structure, and at least one source of energy to power the actuator. The medical device includes a corrosion reducing system configured to reduce corrosion of the medical device.
Systems, devices, and methods for securing tissue
Systems, devices, and methods are provided for securing soft tissue to bone, for securing one or more objects using a surgical filament, and for drawing two or more tissues together so they can be secured in a desired location. One exemplary embodiment of a surgical repair construct that is configured to atraumatically pass through soft tissue to secure tissue in a knotless manner includes a snare linkage, a collapsible loop, and a flexible suture pin. The snare linkage can include a collapsible snare for receiving the collapsible loop, and in use the snare can be collapsed around the collapsible loop and advanced distally towards the bone until the snare is proximate to the tissue, while the collapsible loop can be collapsed distally towards the bone to bring the tissue into proximity with the bone. Other exemplary systems, devices, and methods for use with soft tissue repair are also provided.
Barrel inflatable belt
An inflatable belt 100 for use in a BFR system with an outer belt material 102 hermetically sealed to an inner belt material 101 along a perimeter, thereby forming at least one inflatable chamber 103, the inflatable chamber having an input port 104 for accepting a gas into the chamber, the inflatable belt further comprising a first fastening means 110 in communication with the outer belt material, for attaching to a second fastening means 111 in communication with the outer belt material, thereby locking a circumference of the inflatable belt, when wrapped around a user's limb.
Slow blood vessel occlusion apparatus
A method for occluding a blood vessel has steps for encasing a semi-rigid, circular plastic ring, open at one point, in silicon material, forming a bladder along an inside diameter of the silicon material, placing a mixture of sodium and potassium salts and polyacrylamide granules in the bladder, closing and sealing the bladder, forming a pair of opposed stirrups on an outside diameter of the silicon material, spreading the encased plastic ring by the stirrups accomplishing an opening through the ring of an extent enabling the ring to be placed over a blood vessel, placing the encased plastic ring over the blood vessel, releasing the stirrup, allowing the ring and bladder to close around the blood vessel, such that the bladder, constrained by the ring from expanding outward, absorbing moisture by osmosis over time, expands inward, and over a time t fully occludes the blood vessel.
TISSUE ANCHOR FOR SECURING TISSUE LAYERS
Tissue anchors comprise a woven filament braid body having an elongated tubular configuration and a foreshortened configuration where proximal and distal ends of the body expand radially into double-walled flange structures while leaving a cylindrical saddle region therebetween. The tissue anchors are deployed through penetrations between adjacent tissue layers, where the flanges engage the outer surfaces of the tissue layers and the saddle region resides within the tissue penetrations.
DEVICE FOR OPHTHALMOLOGIC SURGERY
A device (1) for eye surgery includes a metallic ring (2) for suturing to the sclera of a patient's eye. A locking element (3) can be coupled to the metallic ring (2). The locking element (3) includes a lens (31) and a coupling ring (32) fixed to the lens (31) along the entire circumference of the inner edge of the lens (31). The coupling ring (32) is configured for coupling to the metallic ring (2).
FENESTRATED SHEATH FOR EMBOLIC PROTECTION DURING TRANSCAROTID CAROTID ARTERY REVASCULARIZATION
Methods, devices, and systems establish and facilitate retrograde or reverse flow blood circulation in the region of the carotid artery bifurcation in order to limit or prevent the release of emboli into the cerebral vasculature such as nto the internal carotid artery. The methods are particularly useful for interventional procedures, such as stenting and angioplasty, atherectomy performed through a transcarotid approach or transfemoral into the common carotid artery, either using an open surgical technique or using a percutaneous technique, such as a modified Seldinger technique or a micropuncture technique.
Band tightening apparatus for binding intestine
A band tightening apparatus for binding an intestine with a band according to an embodiment of the present disclosure pulls a holder that fixes a band so that the length of the band wound around the intestine is ideally adjusted. The apparatus can pull the band wound around the intestine so that the length of the band wound around the intestine is ideally adjusted and the apparatus can fix the band with a fixing pin for convenient use.
FASTENING DEVICE, IMPLANT DEVICE, LOCKING METHOD, AND OPERATION METHOD
The invention relates to a fastening device for implant device, the fastening device comprising at least two fastening sections, where a first fastening section is arranged with a through hole, a second fastening section is arranged with a protruding part, and where said protruding part is in place in said through hole in a fastening device locking state, where the protruding part on the second fastening section is arranged with a through channel having an inlet and an outlet, said through channel being arranged to receive an implant device feed member, said inlet and outlet being accessible from the exterior of the fastening device in said fastening device locking state, wherein the first fastening section is securely locked to the second fastening section when, in said fastening device locking state, said implant device feed member is in place in the through channel and protrudes from both the inlet and the outlet of said through channel. The invention further relates to an implant device comprising a fastening device, and a method for securely locking a first fastening section of a fastening device for an implant device to a second section of a fastening device for an implant device.
Apparatus and method for the ligation of tissue
A novel catheter-based system which ligates the left atrial appendage (LAA) on the outside of the heart, preferably using a combination of catheters and/or instruments, e.g., a guide catheter positioned inside the left atrial appendage which may assist in locating the left atrial appendage and/or assist in the optimal placement of a ligature on the outside of the appendage, and a ligating catheter and/or instrument outside the heart in the pericardial space to set a ligating element at the neck of the left atrial appendage.
