HEMOSTASIS BAND AND TOOL FOR APPLYING A CONSTANT PRESSURE TO A CANNULATION SITE
The present invention relates to a hemostasis band, comprising a band, preferably made from an elastic material, a pressure focusing element for focusing pressure generated by the band to hold a cannula in place at a cannulation point, wherein the band can be arranged in a loop and the size of the loop formed by the band is adjustable to at least one defined size by means of an external tool, such as a torque driver. Another aspect of the invention relates to a system of a hemostasis band and an external tool.
Anti-embolic device and method
A device for use in preventing stroke is provided. The device may include an expandable member that expands from a non-expanded configuration to an expanded configuration. The expandable member is located at a neck of a patient. An associated method is provided.
Tourniquet device
A tourniquet device includes a first jaw having a first tapered tip, and a second jaw having a second tapered tip. The first and second jaws are moveable towards one another to provide a pressure to a member positioned between the jaws. The first tapered tip is offset from the second tapered tip such that the first tapered tip and the second tapered tip are moveable relative to one another in separate planes and the first tapered tip is moveable past the second tapered tip as the first and second jaws are moved towards one another.
Hemostatic device
A hemostatic device includes a flexible band allowed to be wrapped around a wrist in which a radial artery and an ulnar artery run, a hook and loop fastener that secures the band in a state of being wrapped around the wrist, an inflatable portion connected to the band and allowed to press a puncture site of the radial artery by being inflated in response to injection of a fluid, and a pressing member disposed at a different position from a position of the inflatable portion in a longitudinal direction of the band and allowed to press the ulnar artery. Further, a length of the pressing member along the longitudinal direction of the band is shorter than a width of the pressing member along a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the band.
Surf leash tourniquet device and related methods
Generally disclosed is a surf leash with a tourniquet device that allows the cord of the surf leash to be convertible into a tourniquet and related methods of use.
Hemostasis apparatus and method
The apparatus and method for hemostasis that informs the provider as to whether the appropriate magnitude of pressure is being applied to a puncture site on a patient. A visual pulse indicator can visually convey whether or not there is proper blood flow at the puncture site based on the pulsing motion encountered by the visual pulse indicator on the puncture site. The visual pulse indicator can potentially factor in a variety of different input parameters in displaying information that is useful to providers.
METHOD TO STOP BLEEDING AFTER A CATHETERIZATION PROCEDURE USING A LARGE BORE SHEATH
Disclosed are methods and devices for obtaining patent hemostasis of the radial artery by compressing the ipsilateral ulnar artery to increase radial artery flow. Also disclosed are methods, devices and system for minimizing radial artery occlusion when performing complex PCI procedure using transradial access and transradial catheterization using a large bore sheath. The device comprises a band having at least two inflatable bladders, at least one inflatable bladder used for applying pressure to the radial artery. and at least one inflatable bladder used for applying pressure to the ipsilateral ulnar artery.
Devices and methods for compressing a digit to facilitate removal of a ring
A compression device for freeing a ring trapped on a digit includes a rigid outer body. The rigid outer body includes a digit cavity extending from a cavity opening at a body proximal end of the body towards a body distal end of the body, a fluid inlet, and a fluid flow path fluidly connecting the fluid inlet to one or more inflation chambers positioned in the digit cavity. The body proximal end includes an upper portion, a lower portion, and two laterally spaced-apart side portions. At least one side portion is distally recessed as compared to the upper and lower portions to accommodate an interdigital fold. At least one flexible bladder lines the digit cavity, each flexible bladder defining at least one wall of one of the one or more inflation chambers.
BILATERAL REVERSIBLE VENOUS TOURNIQUET BANDS
Disclosed herein are embodiments for a bilateral reversible disposable tourniquet band. The band tourniquet comprises an elongated member having a flat structure made of a thermoplastic elastomer material. The band has a first surface having a smooth texture, and a second surface having a non-smooth texture comprising a knurled pattern. The elongated member may have a thickness between 0.5 mm and 2 mm.
Methods and devices to reduce damaging effects of concussive or blast forces on a subject
A method and device for reducing the damaging effects of a blast or concussive event includes applying pressure to at least one jugular vein to reduce the egress of blood from the cranial cavity during the incidence of the concussive event. Reducing blood out flow from the cranial cavity increases intracranial pressure of the cerebrospinal fluid to reduce the risk of traumatic brain injury and injuries to the spinal column. Reducing blood out flow further increases the intracranial pressure, and thereby increases the pressure of the cochlear fluid, the vitreous humor and the cerebrospinal fluid to thereby reduce the risk of injury to the inner ear, internal structure of the eye and of the spinal column. In addition, increasing intracranial pressure reduces the likelihood of brain injury and any associated loss of olfactory function.
