Process Aeration Balance Controller in Wastewater Treatment
An aeration balance controller in a wastewater treatment process allows for precise control of aeration medium in situations where the oxygen concentration must be controlled in more than one aeration zone or compartment, with reduced instrumentation. The system also has application controlling aeration media where the aeration of one or more zones may interfere with the stable control of aeration in another zone. This is accomplished by the use of two control schemes: one which determines the overall aeration effort required, and one or more controllers which adjust the balance between zones to equalize the process error from setpoint from zone to zone.
A METHOD OF MIXING FLUID FLOWING IN A RACEWAY CHANNEL AND RACEWAY CHANNEL THEREFOR
A method of mixing fluid flowing in a raceway channel is provided which includes directing the fluid to flow over a ramp which extends across the raceway channel. The ramp has a leading surface which is inclined at between about 5 and 45 upwardly to a top edge, and a trailing surface which extends vertically downwardly from the top edge. The height of the ramp is selected so that the top edge is lower than the level of the fluid in the raceway channel.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING FLOW VELOCITY OF A LIQUID IN A CIRCULATION CHANNEL
A treatment plant and method for controlling a treatment plant suitable for treatment of wastewater. The treatment plant includes a circulation channel housing liquid, a submersible flow generating machine arranged in the circulation channel and generating a liquid flow along the circulation channel, and a control unit that is operatively connected to the flow generating machine. The flow generating machine is driven in operation by the control unit. The method includes the steps of: driving the flow generating machine at a nominal speed, decreasing the rotational speed of the flow generating machine from the set nominal speed, detecting the rotational speed at which the torque of the flow generating machine is equal to a predetermined threshold, and determining the flow velocity of the liquid at the flow generating machine based on a predetermined relationship between the rotational speed of the flow generating machine and the flow velocity of the liquid.
Water treatment reactor
A reactor for treating water, the reactor comprising a buoyant structure for supporting at least one cell for suspension in a body of water in use, wherein each cell is removeably attachable to the buoyant structure and is arranged to house biomedia. A water treatment system comprising the reactor in a body of water. A method of treating water comprising passing water to be treated through the reactor in a body of water.
ORGANIC WASTEWATER TREATMENT METHOD AND ORGANIC WASTEWATER TREATMENT DEVICE
An organic wastewater treatment device includes a biological treatment tank in which biological treatment units are connected in series along a flow of organic wastewater. Each biological treatment unit has a pair of an anoxic tank disposed on an upstream side, and an aerobic tank disposed on a downstream side in which a membrane separation device is immersed in activated sludge. The activated sludge returns from a most downstream-side aerobic tank to a most upstream-side anoxic tank through a sludge return path. Whether to stop an operating membrane separation device and whether to start a stopped membrane separation device are determined for each biological treatment unit based on at least one of an inflow amount of the organic wastewater, a tank water level, a transmembrane pressure difference of each membrane separation device, a T-N concentration of the treated water, and an NH3-N concentration of the treated water as an index.
Aeration discs and methods for using same
Aeration discs used in water treatment and methods of using same are disclosed. According to one or more embodiments, an aeration disc may comprise projections and depressions located on at least one of its surfaces. The aeration discs may be incorporated into aeration devices and water treatment systems.
Water treatment system and method
A water treatment system comprising a first reactor and a second reactor arranged to be placed in series in a body of water, the first and/or second reactor comprising at least one cell for housing biomedia. A mid-settling zone is provided between the first and second reactors for separating solids in the water. A method of treating water, the method comprising passing water to be treated through a first reactor and then a second reactor arranged in series in a body of water, the first and/or second reactors comprising at least one cell for housing biomedia, wherein the water is passed through a mid-settling zone between the first and second reactors before passing through the second reactor.
Plant and control method for aerobic treatment
A treatment plant and a method for controlling such a treatment plant suitable for treatment of waste water. The treatment plant includes a circulation channel adapted to house a liquid, an aeration arrangement adapted to supply a gas flow Q including oxygen to the liquid, at least one flow generating machine arranged in the circulation channel and adapted to generate a liquid flow along the circulation channel, and a control unit.

A plant and method for controlling such a plant suitable for treatment of waste water. The plant includes a basin, a flow generating machine adapted to generate a liquid flow in the basin, equipment in the basin that effects the momentum of the liquid flow, and a control unit. The method includes the steps of: storing a predetermined relationship between the operational speed N of the flow generating machine and an operational parameter P from which the torque M of the flow generating machine may be derived, determining the operational speed N, determining a set value of the operational parameter P of the flow generating machine, determining a real value of the operational parameter P of the flow generating machine, and adjusting the operational speed N if the real value of the operational parameter P is different than the set value of the operational parameter P.
