Water treatment aerator having bubble diffuser

An aerator assembly for wastewater treatment includes a draft tube and an air supply assembly. The draft tube includes a sidewall and presents open top and bottom tube ends. The air supply assembly includes an air supply conduit and a diffuser body. The diffuser body has an inlet aperture and a bubble generator connected to the inlet. The inlet aperture is connected to the air supply conduit such that the bubble generator receives air from a source of air, to which the air supply conduit is connected. The bubble generator has a plurality of air openings for generating fine air bubbles. The diffuser body is sealingly engaged to the sidewall adjacent the bottom tube end so as restrict upward flow of wastewater through the draft tube past the diffuser body.

Described herein are methods and devices for treating water, wastewater, and organic wastes. The methods and devices are mixed by using hydraulic surge mixers. This surge mixer is driven by gas and can provide occasional surges of water using large bubbles which are able to move great volume of liquid while minimizing dissolved oxygen transfer to the surrounding liquid. Use of the devices and processes herein provides a simple, eloquent approach to water and wastewater treatment with less operation and maintenance costs than conventional devices and/or processes. The same surge lifting device can also be installed in other reactors to mix the tank content and enhance reaction with reduced energy use and maintenance needs.

A system and method to treat wastewater or non-potable water using a reactor that is perforated at its bottom arranged in a vessel at a depth. Air pressure from an air grid at a reactor bottom induces an uplift of liquid and media to move highly aerated liquid through the media, which provides surfaces for microbial attachment and growth. An alkali porous material is suspended in the upswelling liquid that dissolves to reduce acidity and balance the pH of the liquor. The upswell in the reactor is at a higher elevation than the vessel giving directional discharge outlets head or velocity creating stirring and mixing to an area surrounding the reactor. Interchange of mixed and unmixed liquor is provided via the bottom perforations. Provision is also made for unit to cycle off and on so that the media can decant and for solids to settle out of the treatment unit.

A LOW-PRESSURE, REVERSIBLE AIRLIFT MIXING SYSTEM FOR USE WITH A MEMBRANE AERATED BIOFILM REACTOR

The invention relates to the design of an enclosure for a membrane aeration module, which incorporates a reversible, low-pressure, air-lift pump to encourage a vertical water flow through and between the membranes in the module. These enclosed membrane modules are suitable for use in membrane aerated biofilm reactors, which are used to treat water or wastewater.

SEPTIC TANK TREATMENT SYSTEM

A system for wastewater treatment includes a container placeable in the fluid within a wastewater treatment vessel. The container comprises an inlet into which fluid from the treatment vessel can flow. In operation, compressed air is provided to aerate fluid within the container and vented from the container in such a way that fluid in the vessel external to the container does not receive aeration. Substrate within the container provides biomedia for treating wastewater. The user controls the operation of a pump that transports fluid from inside the container into fluid in the vessel external to the container. Concomitantly, fluid from outside the container flows in though the container's inlet. Thereby, the system continuously treats wastewater with aeration, intermixing treated and untreated wastewater.

HIGH-EFFICIENCY AIRLIFT PUMP

This document describes a gas streaming device for use between an injection port and a mixing chamber within an airlift pump, and an airlift pump with the gas streaming device. The gas streaming device includes a planar plate with multiple holes extending therethrough, where the holes are dimensioned to direct the gas into multiple micro-streams for streaming air from the injection port into the mixing chamber. An airlift pump in combination with such a gas streaming device is useful for removing anomalously high concentrations of dissolved gas in a liquid. The increased efficiency for this invention may also enable this type of pump to be economic in other applications where it is desirable to lift a liquid or induce flow.
