Embodiments of a laminate including a first curved glass substrate comprising a first viscosity (poises) at a temperature of 630° C.; a second curved glass substrate comprising a second viscosity that is greater than the first viscosity at a temperature of 630° C.; and an interlayer disposed between the first curved glass substrate and the second curved glass substrate, are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, the first curved glass substrate exhibits a first sag depth that is within 10% of a second sag depth of the second curved glass substrate. In one or more embodiments, the first glass substrate and the second glass substrate exhibit a shape deviation therebetween of about ±5 mm or less as measured by an optical three-dimensional scanner or exhibit minimal optical distortion. Embodiments of vehicles including such laminates and methods for making such laminates are also disclosed.

Disclosed is an electronic device including a glass member having a flat portion and a side portion extending from an edge of the flat portion in at least a partially slanted or curved manner. The side portion includes a first curved portion extending from the flat portion, a second curved portion extending from the first curved portion and connected to the flat portion through the first curved portion, and at least one processing portion formed by at least a part of a border region between the first curved portion and the second curved portion. The at least one processing portion has a different refractive index from at least another portion of the side portion.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR BENDING VEHICLE GLASS

A device and method for bending vehicle glass are provided in the disclosure. The device for bending vehicle glass includes a concave solid lower mold, at least one blowing pipe, and multiple extraction pipes. The concave solid lower mold includes a base and a top plate covered on the base. The base and the top plate cooperatively define an accommodating space. Multiple first partitions are arranged in the accommodating space to divide the accommodating space into multiple subspaces. The top plate has a carrying surface that is concave and away from the base. The top plate has multiple through holes that are in communication with the accommodating space and arranged at intervals. Each of the multiple subspaces corresponds to at least one of the multiple through holes.

GLASS OR METAL FORMING MOLD OF ADJUSTABLE SHAPE

A system for shaping glass or metal sheets or panels for use in solar collectors or microwave antennae may include an oven and an adjustable mold. The adjustable mold may comprise a molding surface located within the oven. The molding surface may be coupled to position actuators located outside of the oven via coupling elements. A sheet or panel may be placed in the oven and heated until the sheet or panel softens and takes the shape of the molding surface. The molding surface may be adjusted to achieve different shapes for glass or metal sheets or panels.

A method of forming a glass article includes providing a first glass sheet. The first glass sheet is heated to a temperature suitable for shaping. The first glass sheet is deposited on a first bending tool. An edge portion of the first glass sheet is disposed over a shaping surface of the first bending tool. The shaping surface of the first bending tool is configured to provide in the first glass sheet a compression area and a tension area. The first glass sheet is shaped on the first bending tool and the compression area is formed in the edge portion of the first glass sheet. The compression area includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion has a width which is greater than a width of a second portion.

A curved cover glass includes a plate-like glass body having a first surface, a second surface facing the first surface and at least one end face. The plate-like glass body has an average thickness of 5 mm or less. Among tangential directions on the first surface at an arbitrary point, when an X-axis is assumed to be a direction in which a first curvature radius R.sub.1 in cross-section of the first surface in an XZ plane is minimum, the first surface has a curvature part in which the surface is bent in the X-axis direction at least at one point on the first surface. The first curvature radius R.sub.1 is 10,000 mm or less. The curvature part includes at least one opening or concave part extending from the first surface to the second surface.

A glass bending device is presented. The glass bending device includes a bending chamber, a tool for holding at least one glass pane by means of a suction effect, including a downward-directed frame-like, convex contact surface and a cover with a peripheral air-guiding plate surrounding the contact surface at least in regions. The tool is suitable for sweeping the edge of the glass pane at least in sections with an air flow and thereby pressing the glass pane against the contact surface. The glass bending device further includes a fan, which is connected to the bending chamber via a feed line and a return line and is suitable for extracting air from the bending chamber via the tool and the feed line to produce the air flow and for returning air back into the bending chamber via the return line. The return line is connected to the bending chamber above the tool.

Embodiments of a laminate and methods of forming a laminate using a separation media are providing. The method includes providing a first glass substrate, disposing separation media on top of the first glass substrate on the second major surface, the separation media being disposed in a predetermined pattern; providing a second glass substrate and forming a stack with the first and second glass substrates and the separation media disposed therebetween; and heating the stack to form a co-shaped stack having a first curved glass substrate and a second curved glass substrate. The predetermined pattern has a first region of separation media and a second region of separation media that is closer to an edge of the second major surface, where a thickness of the second region is greater than a first thickness of the first region.

One aspect of the gyroscope includes the use of optical sensors to detect motion of the resonator. The present disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing a curved joined glass sheet having excellent optical quality by adjusting a radius of curvature of a curved thick glass sheet and a radius of curvature of a curved thin glass sheet. The method includes preparing a curved thick glass sheet having a first radius of curvature, manufacturing a curved thin glass sheet having a second radius of curvature by heating and molding a flat plate thin glass sheet, providing a joining film or an adhesive agent between a concave surface of the curved thick glass sheet and a convex surface of the curved thin glass sheet, and elastically deforming the curved thin glass sheet to join the elastically deformed curved thin glass sheet so as to match with the concave surface of the curved thick glass sheet.
