Use of adipose tissue-derived stromal stem cells in treating fistula
Provided herein are novel methods and composition utilizing adipose tissue-derived stromal stem cells for treating fistulae.
Surgical instrument with articulating region
A surgical instrument including an articulating region. An outer tube and an inner tube are axially fixed to one another distal to the articulating region and axially movable relative to one another proximal to the articulating region. Relative movement of the inner and outer tubes provides for articulation of the articulating tube assembly to a curved configuration. A working tool may be removably directed through a central cannula defined by the inner tube. The working tool may include a shaft having a flexible region configured to be arranged within the articulating region. The shaft may rotate within the inner tube with the articulating tube assembly in the curved configuration. The working tool may include a housing hub configured to be coupled with a handle to removably position the flexible region within the articulating region. Multiple working tools may be interchangeably directed through the central cannula.
Radially expanding debridement tools
Disclosed are radially expanding debridement tools configured to pass through an access channel present in a first tissue of a living being, expand radially, and create a void in a second tissue of the living being upon being advanced distally through the access channel and into the second tissue while being rotated, wherein the shape of the void comprises at least one step. Further disclosed are debridement systems and methods of treating tissue defects in living beings.
Joint arthroplasty device and method
An implant having a joint facing surface and a bone facing surface forming a body member and a dorsal member therebetween. The implant further having a ring member extending out from the bone facing surface to a free end disposed for insertion into a bone recess. The body member and the dorsal member include a concave curvature on the bone facing surface and a convex curvature on the joint facing surface.
VERTEBRAL JOINT IMPLANTS AND DELIVERY TOOLS
A spinal joint distraction system for treating a facet joint including articular surfaces having a contour is disclosed and may include a delivery device including a generally tubular structure adapted to engage a facet joint, an implant adapted to be delivered through the delivery device and into the facet joint, the implant comprising two members arranged in opposed position, and an implant distractor comprising a generally elongate member adapted to advance between the two members of the implant causing separation of the members and distraction of the facet joint, wherein the implant is adapted to conform to the shape of the implant distractor and/or the articular surfaces of the facet upon being delivered to the facet joint. Several embodiments of a system, several embodiments of an implant, and several methods are disclosed including a method for interbody fusion.
ARTICULATING CURETTE FOR DECORTICATING A VERTEBRAL ENDPLATE VIA A CANNULA
A medical instrument fashioned as an articulating curette for decorticating vertebral endplates of vertebrae of a spine via a cannula has a handle, a controller connected to the handle, two opposing arms extending from the controller, a control shaft between the two opposing arms and coupled to the controller for longitudinally axial movement thereof by the controller relative to the two opposing arms, a bladed decorticating head for decorticating vertebral endplate bone material from vertebral endplates and pivotally connected to the two opposing arms for articulation from 0° to 90° relative to the longitudinal axis of the control shaft, and a pivot mechanism between the bladed decorticating head and the control shaft providing controlled articulation of the bladed decorticating head through longitudinally axial movement of the control shaft. Rotational movement of the controller moves the control shaft axially relative to the two opposing arms to articulate the bladed decorticating head.
Hip Broach And Implant Designed Using Morphological Data
In one embodiment, the present disclosure relates to a broach for use in a mammalian femur. The broach includes a body with a proximal portion and a distal portion extending from the proximal portion. The proximal portion has a first surface with a plurality of first teeth and the distal portion has a second surface with a plurality of second teeth. Each of the second teeth is different from each of the first teeth. And, each of the plurality of second teeth include pointed protrusions extending outward from the second surface.
Surgical instrument and method
A surgical instrument includes a first member defining an axis and including a cutting surface. A second member includes a cutting surface that is rotatable relative to the first member. A third member includes an outer surface. The cutting surface of the second member is rotatable relative to the outer surface to transfer the cut tissue along the axis. Systems and methods are disclosed.
ANGLED BASEPLATE FOR HUMERAL AND GLENOID ARTICULAR SURFACE IMPLANT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present disclosure provides a glenoid implant system for a reverse shoulder implant system that includes a glenoid implant having a center post, and also includes an angled baseplate comprising a bone facing surface to face an implant site prepared in a glenoid region of a patient, and an implant facing surface to face and engage the glenoid implant and receive the center post of the glenoid implant, wherein the implant facing surface being at an angle with respect to a centerline of the bone facing surface.
Tissue trap for chondral autograft transfer system
A cartilage repair technique employs a cutter-tissue trap combination device to harvest cartilage tissue from a low-weight-bearing site of a subject. Cut tissue is aspirated though a lumen of a tissue cutter. The lumen includes an outer shaft having a first distal window and an inner shaft having a second distal window. Edges of the first distal window and the second distal window cooperate to provide a cutting action there-between upon rotation of the inner shaft within the outer shaft. A tissue trap coupled to the tissue cutter is configured to collect tissue shavings of a desired size to efficiently deliver the collected shavings to a repair site during surgery. The tissue trap includes a filter in a housing configured between a removable inflow chamber and a removable outflow chamber.
