SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CREATING GRAFT TUNNELS IN BONE
20240180563 · 2024-06-06 ·

Methods and devices for consistently and accurately controlling the depth of the graft tunnel. A sheath is inserted into the bone until a stop member on the sheath contacts the bone. A cutting member is then deployed to drill a larger bore in the tunnel until making contact with the distal end of the sheath. The cutting member may be drawn retrograde within the tunnel, or driven antegrade from an opening opposite the opening in which the sheath resides. The drill and the sheath can then be removed, leaving the tunnel that includes a tunnel portion sized to fit a graft so that the graft fits tightly within the tunnel portion and is flush with the opening of the tunnel.

Minimally invasive systems for and methods of preparing and fusing a sacroiliac joint during interventional procedures

A system for performing a minimally invasive interventional fusion procedure on a sacroiliac joint of a patient. The system may include a disposable sterile packed implant and kit including access, bone cutting, accessory and extraction instruments.

OSTEOTOMY SURGICAL APPARATUS

An osteotomy surgical apparatus according to the present invention includes a bone cutting blade used for cutting bone tissue and a guard disposed so as to overlap the bone cutting blade in a side view of the bone cutting blade. A distal end of the guard is disposed at a position retracted rearward relative to a blade edge of the bone cutting blade.

Systems and methods for altering the surface of a bone

Systems and methods to provide patient-specific cutting blocks that allow for bone resurfacing procedures, such as milling or burring, with simplified devices. A computer assisted surgical cutting block is produced having a surface region that matches with the surface region of a patient's bone to be altered. A cutting tool may be provided having a contoured bone mating surface and a contoured and patient-specific shaped cutting guide surface located in a plane above the bone mating surface. One or more channels are provided in the cutting block, and as the surgeon moves the cutting tool (a milling or burring, for example) in the channels, the tool cuts the bone both laterally along the surface of the bone and vertically into the bone according to the cutting guide surface and other preselected surface features of the cutting block.

Press System for Setting a Surgical Device
20190125371 · 2019-05-02 ·

Disclosed herein is a surgical press for setting a surgical device into bone. The surgical press system includes an elongated shaft having a distal portion and a proximal portion. The shaft is configured for insertion into a guide. The surgical press system includes threads extending along an axial portion of the distal end of the shaft. The threads are configured to pull the shaft into bone as the shaft rotates. The surgical press system includes a press element associated with a proximal portion of the shaft such that as the shaft is rotated, the threads pull the shaft into the bone causing the press element to press the surgical device into the bone. The surgical press system includes a collection region located in the distal portion of the shaft and configured to receive bone material removed from the bone due to advancement of the shaft. The surgical press system includes a locating element configured to position the surgical device in a predetermined orientation with respect to the shaft as the press element presses the surgical device into the bone.

Systems and methods for preparing bone voids to receive a prosthesis

A method of implant a knee prosthesis includes forming a bone void at an end of a bone, implanting a void filler in the bone void, and implanting a knee prosthesis onto the end of the bone so that a stem of the knee prosthesis is received by the void filler.

Combined flip cutter and drill
10251655 · 2019-04-09 · ·

A flip cutter and drill instrument and method of antegrade drilling and retrograde cutting using such an instrument. The flip cutter and drill instrument is provided with a drill which has a multi-blade configuration and which engages an inner tube or inner member of the instrument to articulate between at least a first straight position (for example, about parallel to the longitudinal axis of the instrument) when the instrument is in the drilling mode, and at least a second flip position (for example, a non-parallel position relative to the longitudinal axis of the instrument) when the instrument is in the cutting mode.

Resection instrument

The present invention concerns a surgical instrument. There is described a surgical instrument including a shaft having a handle towards a proximal end, a template towards a distal end, and resecting means for removing tissue. The template is shaped to complement the contours of a joint surface.

SYSTEMS FOR AND METHODS OF PREPARING AND FUSING A SACROILIAC JOINT

A system for performing a fusion procedure on a sacroiliac joint defined between a sacrum and an ilium. The system may include a working cannula including a proximal end, a distal end, a tubular body extending between the proximal and distal ends, a cannula passageway defined within the tubular body and having a cannula axis extending there through, a pair of prongs coupled to the tubular body and extending distally there from, an anchor arm engagement structure coupled to the tubular body, and a pin guide coupled to the tubular body and defining a pin passageway having a guidance axis there through that is generally parallel with the cannula axis.
