Provided is a transparent substrate with a multilayer thin film coating. The multilayer thin film coating includes a lower dielectric layer, a lower protective layer, a metal functional layer having an infrared reflection function, an upper protective layer, and an upper dielectric layer, which are sequentially laminated from the transparent substrate, the lower dielectric layer includes at least one barrier layer and at least one impurity collection layer, and the thickness of the metal function layer is 12 nm or more.

Temperable coatings comprising diamond-like carbon
A coated substrate, includes a coating that includes, starting from the substrate in this order: a) a layer of diamond-like carbon (DLC), b) a metallic, single-ply or multi-ply layer, and c) an oxygen barrier layer, wherein the metallic, single-ply or multi-ply layer contains b1) tin or tin and at least one alloying element for tin, which are present unalloyed and/or alloyed, or b2) magnesium and at least one alloying element for magnesium, which are present unalloyed and/or alloyed. The coated substrate protects the DLC layer, as a result of which said layer can be tempered. The coating has good mechanical stability and good aging stability before heat treatment.

METHODS FOR ENCAPSULATING SILVER MIRRORS ON OPTICAL STRUCTURES
Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to encapsulated optical devices and methods for fabricating the encapsulated optical devices. In one or more embodiments, a method for encapsulating an optical device includes depositing a metallic silver layer on a substrate, depositing a barrier layer on the metallic silver layer, where the barrier layer contains silicon nitride, a metallic element, a metal nitride, or any combination thereof, and depositing an encapsulation layer containing silicon oxide on the barrier layer.
Solar Control Coating With High Solar Heat Gain Coefficient
A coating provides a high solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) and a low overall heat transfer coefficient (U-value) to trap and retain solar heat. The coating and coated article are particularly useful for use in architectural transparencies in northern climates. The coating includes a first dielectric layer; a continuous metallic layer formed over at least a portion of the first dielectric layer, the metallic layer having a thickness less than 8 nm; a primer layer formed over at least a portion of the metallic layer; a second dielectric layer formed over at least a portion of the primer layer; and an overcoat formed over at least a portion of the second dielectric layer. When used on a No. 3 surface of a reference IGU, the coating provides a SHGC of greater than or equal to 0.6 and a U-value of less than or equal to 0.35.
COATED ARTICLE WITH IR REFLECTING LAYER DESIGNED FOR LOW U-VALUE AND HIGHER G-VALUE AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A coated article incudes a low-emissivity (low-E) coating having at least one infrared (IR) reflecting layer of or including a material such as silver or the like. The low-E coating is designed so that the coated article can realize a low U-value in combination with a high solar heat gain (g value). In the top dielectric portion of the coating above the silver, a high-low-high refractive index sequence is provided. This allows for a low U-value and a higher g value to be obtained for a given silver thickness. Coated articles herein may be used in the context of insulating glass (IG) window units, or in other suitable applications such as monolithic window applications, laminated windows, and/or the like.
