A medical device for delivering a drug compound through a stratum corneum includes a support having an aperture, an array of microneedles extending outwardly from the support, a plurality of nanostructures associated with each microneedle, and a reservoir wherein the drug compound is retained. At least one microneedle contains a shaft extending from the support. The shaft includes a tip configured to penetrate the stratum corneum. The shaft defines a channel extending from the support to the tip. The channel is in at least partial alignment with the aperture. At least some of the microneedles of the array of microneedles each have a cross-sectional dimension of from about 1 micrometer to about 1 millimeter. At least some of the nanostructures have a cross-sectional dimension less than about 500 nanometers and greater than about 5 nanometers and an aspect ratio of from about 0.2 to about 5.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SKIN TREATMENT

Described herein are technologies, methods, and/or devices for treating skin (e.g., eliminating tissue volume, tightening skin, lifting skin, and/or reducing skin laxity) by selectively excising a plurality of microcores without thermal energy being imparted to surrounding (e.g., non-excised) tissue. The technologies, methods, and/or devices described herein satisfy an unmet need for rapid and safe treatment of skin, including, e.g., faster pretreatment preparation and post-treatment healing times compared to current surgical and thermal treatment methods.

CELL TRANSPLANTATION DEVICE AND CELL TRANSPLANTATION SYSTEM

A cell transplantation device is used to place a graft containing cells into a target region in a living body. The cell transplantation device includes a needle extending in one direction, and a filter unit made of a fibrous member. The needle has a flow channel defined therein and an opening at the tip of the needle. The filter unit is disposed at an intermediate position in the flow channel and configured to retain a graft between the filter unit and the opening when a liquid material containing the graft enters the flow channel through the opening.
