LOW-EMISSIVITY MATERIAL COMPRISING A SILICON NITRIDE- OR OXYNITRIDE-BASED LAYER AND A ZINC TIN OXIDE-BASED LAYER
A material includes a substrate coated with a stack including at least one silver-based functional metal layer and at least two dielectric coatings, each dielectric coating including at least one dielectric layer, so that each functional metal layer is between two dielectric coatings, wherein the dielectric coating located in contact with the substrate includes a layer including silicon selected from silicon oxynitride or nitride-based layers located in contact with the substrate; a layer based on zinc oxide and tin including at least 20% by mass of tin relative to the total mass of zinc and tin located in contact with the layer including silicon, the sum of thicknesses of all oxide-based layers present in the dielectric coating located between the substrate and the first functional metal layer and/or in each dielectric coating located above the first functional layer is greater than 50% of the total thickness of the dielectric coating.
ANTI-FOG GLASS, VEHICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE ANTI-FOG GLASS
An anti-fog glass includes a glass body configured as a single layer or a multilayer stack; an active anti-fog layer disposed on the glass body and heating up when being provided with power; and a passive anti-fog layer disposed on the glass body and inhibiting fog from forming on the passive anti-fog layer. The passive anti-fog layer is a super hydrophobic coating and/or hydrophilic coating. Both the active anti-fog layer and the passive anti-fog layer are simultaneously disposed on the glass body to inhibit fog from forming. In this way, in a region of the glass body not covered by the active anti-fog layer, the anti-fog function is achieved by the passive anti-fog layer to a certain degree; in addition, in a region where the passive anti-fog layer itself cannot provide a desired anti-fog level, the active anti-fog layer together with the passive anti-fog layer provide a better anti-fog effect.
Coated article with IR reflecting layer designed for low u-value and higher g-value and method of making same
A coated article incudes a low-emissivity (low-E) coating having at least one infrared (IR) reflecting layer of or including a material such as silver or the like. The low-E coating is designed so that the coated article can realize a low U-value in combination with a high solar heat gain (g value). In the top dielectric portion of the coating above the silver, a high-low-high refractive index sequence is provided. This allows for a low U-value and a higher g value to be obtained for a given silver thickness. Coated articles herein may be used in the context of insulating glass (IG) window units, or in other suitable applications such as monolithic window applications, laminated windows, and/or the like.
VENDING MACHINES WITH LARGE AREA TRANSPARENT TOUCH ELECTRODE TECHNOLOGY, AND/OR ASSOCIATED METHODS
Certain example embodiments relate to vending machines with large area transparent touch electrode (LATTE) technology, and/or associated methods. By using the low-E Ag-based coatings described herein, it is possible to create new vending machine user interfaces that are more interesting and interactive than conventional interfaces. Touch-based user interfaces may be useful in vending, attract, and game-playing modes into which example vending machines may be placed and under which they may be operated.
GLASS TREATMENT
A method is disclosed, for removal of tin deposits from a glass substrate during a float glass manufacturing process. An acidic gas, such as hydrogen fluoride, is delivered to the substrate surface using chemical vapour deposition apparatus.
GLASS SHEET COATED WITH A LAYER OF MINERAL PAINT AND WITH A THIN LAYER STACK
A material includes a glass sheet, one of the faces of which includes a first zone and a second zone, only the first zone being coated with a layer of opaque mineral paint obtained from a water-based paint composition including pigments and an aqueous solution of alkaline silicate, the layer of mineral paint and the second zone of the glass sheet being coated with a thin layer stack including at least one electrically conductive thin layer.
Coated article with low-E coating including tin oxide inclusive layer(s) with additional metal(s)
A coated article includes a coating, such as a low emissivity (low-E) coating, supported by a substrate (e.g., glass substrate). The coating includes at least one dielectric layer including tin oxide that is doped with another metal(s). The coating may also include one or more infrared (IR) reflecting layer(s) of or including material such as silver or the like, for reflecting at least some IR radiation. In certain example embodiments, the coated article may be heat treated (e.g., thermally tempered, heat bent and/or heat strengthened). Coated articles according to certain example embodiments of this invention may be used in the context of windows, including monolithic windows for buildings, IG windows for buildings, etc.
Article comprising a protective top layer based on mixed oxide of zirconium and aluminum
An article includes a substrate that is transparent, the substrate being covered on at least one of its faces, totally or partly, with a protective layer based on zirconium and aluminum mixed oxide.
Ion implantation for modification of thin film coatings on glass
The use of non-mass analyzed ion implanter is advantageous in such application as it generates ion implanting at different depth depending on the ions energy and mass. This allows for gaining advantage from lubricity offered as a result of the very light deposition on the surface, and at the same time the hardness provided by the intercalated ions implanted below it, providing benefits for cover glass, low E enhancement, and other similar materials. In further aspects, ion implantation is used to create other desirable film properties such anti-microbial and corrosion resistance.
COATED GLASS SURFACES AND METHOD FOR COATING A GLASS SUBSTRATE
A coated substrate having a coating and a method of forming the same is disclosed, wherein the coating includes a plurality of discrete layers. The coating includes three reflective layers, an alloy layer disposed between two of the reflective layers, and two oxide layers and has a total thickness of 4000 Å or less.
