Device and method for controlling the spraying of a bonding composition in an installation for manufacturing mineral wool

A device for controlling a system for spraying a bonding composition onto mineral fibers, includes a ring, inside which the mineral fibers pass, a spray nozzle arranged on the ring and for spraying the composition onto the fibers, a first apparatus for measuring a flow of a fluid relative to the sprayed composition and a second apparatus for measuring a pressure of a fluid relative to the sprayed composition. A module compares a pair formed by a value, measured by the first apparatus, of the fluid flow and a value, measured by the second apparatus, of the fluid pressure, with a pair formed by a first previously defined reference value of a considered fluid flow, and by a second previously defined reference value of the considered fluid pressure. A pump feeds the fluid into the device so that a value of the flow of the fluid is constant.

An annular discharge device for discharging a gluing composition onto glass fibres includes at least one distribution circuit for the gluing composition and a plurality of spray nozzles fluidically connected with the distribution circuit and distributed over the perimeter of the annular discharge device for discharging the gluing composition onto the glass fibres intended to pass into the annular discharge device defined by an axis of revolution, each spray nozzle being oriented towards the interior of the annular discharge device with an angle of inclination determined in relation to the plane of revolution of the annular discharge device. At least two spray nozzles arranged consecutively on the perimeter of the annular discharge device are disposed so as to have an orientation with respect to the plane of revolution of the annular discharge device each with a different angle of inclination with respect to one another.

Process for adjusting the amount of dilution water of a binding compound, and corresponding computing unit

A process for manufacturing a mat of mineral fibers, wherein fibers are formed and a binding compound resulting from the mixture of a binder composition with dilution water is applied on the fibers, the fibers impregnated with the binding compound are collected on a perforated receiving device equipped with a fiber-receiving surface and, below the surface, at least one suction duct, and the mat is heat treated. The process includes determining an optimal amount of dilution water as a function of the humidity of the air in the fiberizing station, of the humidity of the intake air and of the intake air flow rate in the at least one suction duct, and of the desired amount of water in the mat at the outlet of the receiving chamber, and adjusting the amount of dilution water as a function of the optimal amount thus determined.
