Capture devices and related methods of use
A system for retrieving material from a cavity in a patient may include a tube having a proximal end and a distal end, the scope configured to be inserted into the cavity, and a filter assembly disposed between the tube and a vacuum source configured to apply negative pressure through the tube to cause the material to flow through the tube from the distal end to the proximal end, the filter assembly including a filter configured to trap the material in the filter assembly, and allow liquid and gases to pass through the filter assembly.
NEUROVASCULAR CATHETER EXTENSION SEGMENT
A neurovascular catheter extension segment is provided, such as for distal neurovascular access or aspiration. The neurovascular catheter extension segment includes 1) an elongate flexible control wire having a proximal end and a distal end and 2) a tubular extension segment having a side wall defining a central lumen carried by the distal end of the control wire. The side wall of the tubular extension segment includes a tubular inner liner, a tie layer separated from the lumen by the inner liner, a helical coil surrounding the tie layer, and an outer jacket surrounding the helical coil. The extension segment may be introduced into the proximal end of a neurovascular catheter and advanced distally to extend beyond the catheter and thereby extend the reach of the catheter.
Tissue-removing catheter including operational control mechanism
A tissue-removing catheter for removing tissue from a body lumen during a cutting operation includes an elongate catheter body configured for insertion into the body lumen and a tissue-removing element. A motor is operably connected to the tissue-removing element for rotating the tissue-removing element. A sensor is configured to detect a parameter of the catheter body during the cutting operation. A motor control circuit is in electrical communication with the sensor and the motor. During an operational control function, the motor control circuit is configured to receive a signal from the sensor based at least in part on the detected parameter, determine whether the received signal is indicative of inefficient movement of the tissue-removing element, and adjust a rotational speed of the tissue-removing element to increase efficiency of the tissue-removing element if the received signal is indicative of inefficient movement of the tissue-removing element.
MEDICAL INSTRUMENT AND MEDICAL SYSTEM
A medical instrument is that the first holding portion or the second holding portion is capable of moving so that a distance between a distal end of the first holding portion and a distal end of the second holding portion changes from a first dimension which is larger than a diameter of the wire to a second dimension which is smaller than the diameter of the wire and the space is formed by the first holding portion and the second holding portion such that the wire is capable of rotating about a line connecting a first contact point where the first protrusion portion contacts with the wire with a second contact point where the second protrusion portion contacts with the wire.
Extraluminal Urethral Prostate Shield Apparatus
An extraluminal urethral prostate shield apparatus includes at least two collar members positionable around at least a portion of a bodily lumen. A plurality of longitudinal members securable between opposing faces of each of the at least two collar members in parallel array, surrounds the bodily lumen whereby obtrusion of enlarged tissue against the lumen is preventable and luminal patency is maintained.
VASCULAR DEVICE MARKER ATTACHMENT
A medical device can include an elongate manipulation member, and a thrombectomy device connected to the elongate manipulation member. The thrombectomy device can have a first configuration and a second configuration, the thrombectomy device being expandable from the first configuration to the second configuration. The thrombectomy device can include an arcuate marker-mounting projection attached to a portion of the thrombectomy device configured to contact a thrombus. A marker can be coupled to, and extending around, the arcuate marker-mounting projection with the marker and the arcuate marker-mounting projection contacting each other at three discrete locations. A method for engaging a thrombus can include advancing a thrombectomy device to a location radially adjacent to a thrombus in a blood vessel. The thrombectomy device can be positioned such that a marker, disposed at a proximal end of a working length of thrombectomy device, is proximal to or longitudinally aligned with a proximal end of the thrombus, and can be expanded into the thrombus.
DEVELOPABLE AND COLLAPSABLE INTERNAL CUTTING MECHANISM
A hollow rod developable actuator tool including a first link comprising an outer cylinder, a second link comprising a first tool member pivotably connected to the first link at a first joint mounted in a first cavity in the wall of the outer cylinder, a third link comprising a second tool member pivotably connected to the first tool member at a second link, and a fourth link comprising an inner cylinder to which the second tool member is also pivotably connected at a third link mounted in a second cavity in the wall of the inner cylinder. When the inner cylinder of the fourth link is rotated in relation to the outer cylinder of the first link the actuator tool transitions from a first state where the tool is closed to a second state where the tool is open.
DEVELOPABLE AND COLLAPSABLE EXTERNAL CUTTING OR GRIPPING MECHANISM
A hollow rod developable actuator tool including a cylinder defining the outer circumference of the hollow rod, a first tool mechanism, and a second tool mechanism. The hollow rod developable actuator tool transitions from a first closed state wherein the first tool mechanism and second tool mechanism are contained entirely within the outer circumference of the hollow rod to a second open state wherein the first tool mechanism and second tool mechanism extent outside the outer circumference of the hollow rod.
Apparatus and method for controlling an end-effector assembly
An apparatus for controlling an end-effector assembly having a first working member and a second working member is provided. The apparatus includes a first set of at least one cable, a second set of at least one cable, a first pulley configured to guide the first set of at least one cable, a second pulley configured to guide the first set of at least one cable when the second pulley is in a first position, a third pulley configured to guide the second set of at least one cable, and a rotatable element rotatable about a first axis.
