Systems and methods for percutaneous removal of objects from an internal body space
Disclosed are systems, methods, and devices for percutaneous retrieval of objects, such as endovascular devices, from an internal body space. The present inventions have vascular, non-vascular (gastrointestinal), and surgical (laproscopic) applications. The inventions include a retrieval end having one or more compressed states and an expanded state, the retrieval end adopting the expanded state when the retrieval end is deployed into a subject's internal body space, the retrieval end having a mouth through which an object can be passed into an interior space within the retrieval end when the retrieval end is in the expanded state, the mouth being adjustable between an opened state and a closed state; wherein when at least a portion of the retrieval end of the inner sheath is transitioned to a compressed state following capture of the object, the retrieval end exerts an inward force that at least partially collapses or compresses the object.
Method and apparatus for oral hygiene
An oral hygiene device having a main body including a first end and a second end, with a main body extending therebetween. At least one end has an extraction tip. The main body may be composed of a flexible material. The device may be used for removing tonsil stones.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVING MATERIAL FROM A VESSEL
Apparatus and methods employing same for loading and inserting an inverting tube apparatus into a body lumen, such as a blood vessel, including introducers for inverting tube apparatuses. Also described herein are stacked tractor regions and methods of using them for removing larger and/or longer materials from the body lumen. Also described herein are methods and apparatuses for assisting in the manual operation the inverting tube apparatuses described herein, including grips.
EXPANDABLE POLYMERIC FLARE TIP CATHETER AND METHODS OF FABRICATING SAME
The designs herein can be for a clot retrieval catheter with a large bore lumen and a distal tip expandable to a diameter larger than that of the guide or sheath through which it is delivered. The designs can have a polymeric flared tip with atraumatic properties and the ability to flexibly expand when ingesting a clot. The tip can have a plurality of axial ribs giving stiffness to certain circumferential regions of the tip for facilitating repeatable collapse when retracted back into the guide or sheath. The tip can also have a metallic support frame within the flared tip for aiding in more gradual compression of clots during aspiration and retrieval with a stentriever. The catheter frame and tip can be sufficiently flexible to navigate highly tortuous areas of the anatomy and recover to maintain the inner diameter of the lumen when displaced in a vessel.
Systems and methods for grasp adjustment based on grasp properties
Systems and methods for grasp adjustment based on grasp properties include a computer-assisted device. The device includes a two-jawed end effector located at a distal end of the device, a drive unit for operating the two-jawed end effector, and an image processing unit. The image processing unit is configured to receive imaging data of the end effector and recognize the end effector and a material grasped by the end effector in the received imaging data. The device is configured to adjust a force magnitude limit or a torque magnitude limit of the drive unit based on the received imaging data. In some embodiments, the image processing unit is further configured to determine one or more of a position, an orientation, a size, or a shape of the material based on the received imaging data. In some embodiments, at least one jaw of the end effector includes fiducial indicia.
ANTI-LOCKING THROMBECTOMY APPARATUSES AND METHODS
Inverting tube apparatuses having an inverting tube (e.g., a knitted tube) that is configured to roll into an inversion support catheter and capture material from within a body lumen such as a blood vessel, in which the knitted tube is configured to prevent locking down onto the outside of the inversion support catheter. The inversion support catheter may include an expandable funnel at the distal end thereof having an interior profile that is adapted to capture and break apart hard material captured by the tractor so that it may be pulled into the inversion support catheter for removal.
SELF-ORIENTING ROTATING STENTRIEVER PINCHING CELLS
A clot removal device for removing a clot from a body vessel, the clot removal device including: an elongated member sized to traverse vasculature and having a proximal end and a distal end, the elongated member comprising a longitudinal axis; and an engagement structure connected to the distal end of the elongated member, the engagement structure comprising a plurality of pinching cells connected to each other, the at least one pinching cell being configured to engage clot in an expanded deployed configuration and to pinch the clot upon actuation to the clot pinching configuration, a first pinching cell of the plurality of pinching cells being connected to a second pinching cell of the plurality of pinching cells such that the second pinching cell is rotatable respective the first pinching cell substantially about the longitudinal axis.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR URETERAL STENTS
The disclosure relates to a stent assembly for placement of a stent within a ureter. In many embodiments, the stent assembly includes a band coupled to a proximal end of the stent. In many such embodiments, the band may extend into the urethra and facilitate removal of the catheter without the help of a medical professional or requiring a portion of the stent assembly (e.g., suture loop) to extend outside of the patient. In various embodiments, the band may include one or more features that promote patient comfort while the stent is positioned within a body, such as by being atraumatic and/or seamless.
INTRODUCER LOCK APPARATUS
Apparatuses and methods for retaining a catheter are disclosed. In particular, described herein are apparatuses (e.g., introducer lock apparatuses, devices and systems including them) and methods for securing a catheter relative to an introducer sheath. In particular these apparatuses and method may secure an outer catheter of a mechanical thrombectomy apparatus to prevent the outer catheter from moving proximally when an inner member within the outer catheter is pulled proximally, applying a compression force that would otherwise drive the outer catheter proximally.
Sealed neurovascular extendable catheter
A catheter is provided which includes an outer catheter and an extendable inner catheter. A sealing feature is positioned between the inner catheter and the outer catheter to seal the annular gap between the two while allowing axial translation. The seal may be a compliant protrusion surrounding the inner catheter and may have a chevron-shape for facilitating axial translation. The seal may be a one-way valve configured to allow antegrade flushing but prevent retrograde flow. The seal may be squeegee-like flange on the distal tip of the outer catheter. The seal may be an expandable bulge, which may be mechanically expandable or inflatable or which may be a photosensitive or electrosensitive hydrogel. The seal may include a spring that is radially compressed upon translation or rotation of the inner catheter to transiently break the seal. Also provided is a seal for sealing between the catheter and the vasculature.
