A glazing that has a solar control property includes at least one glass substrate on which a stack of layers is deposited. The stack includes at least one layer consisting of an alloy comprising nickel, copper and chromium, in which alloy the atomic percentage of nickel is greater than 70% and less than 94%, the atomic percentage of copper is greater than 5% and less than 25% and in which the atomic percentage of chromium is greater than 1% and less than 15%.
GLASS-FILM LAMINATES WITH CONTROLLED FAILURE STRENGTH
A glass-film laminate or article having a narrow failure distribution or a Weibull modulus of greater than 10. In embodiments, the glass-film laminate or article includes at least one first film disposed on a strengthened glass substrate. A first film or any additional films can exhibit an average strain-to-failure that is less than the strain-to-failure of the strengthened glass substrate. In embodiments, the first first film is adhered to the glass substrate such that the first film does not exhibit visible delamination from the glass substrate. Methods of forming glass-film laminates or articles with a desired strength level and narrow failure strength distrubution are also disclosed.
Nano bi-material electromagnetic spectrum shifter
The present invention relates to a nano bi-material, electromagnetic spectrum shifter based on said nano bi-material and method to produce said electromagnetic spectrum shifter using said nano bi-material. In particular, the present invention provides nano bi-material based electromagnetic spectrum shifter, e.g. color filters, with a wide range of transmission and color tunability and methods to produce said color filters. The present invention has applications in color filtration and production of color filters; reflector and production of reflectors; and electromagnetic spectrum shifter and production of electromagnetic spectrum shifters.
REFLECTIVE PANEL
The invention concerns reflective opaque panels that can be used as facing panels or decorative panels. They consist of a substrate coated with a stack of layers comprising, in the following order, at least (i) a transparent substrate (S), (ii) a first dielectric layer which is a high refractive index dielectric layer (H1), (iii) a second dielectric layer which is a low refractive index dielectric layer (L1), and (vi) a single chromium-based layer.
Vehicular electrochromic mirror reflective elements
A plurality of vehicular electrochromic mirror reflective elements includes first and second vehicular electrochromic mirror reflective elements, each having a respective planar rear glass shaped substrate and a respective planar front glass substrate. The planar front glass shaped substrates are cut out from a planar glass sheet. Each planar rear glass shaped substrate is joined with a respective planar front glass substrate portion of the planar glass sheet via a respective perimeter seal. With the planar rear glass shaped substrate joined with the planar front glass shaped substrate, the circumferential perimeter cut edge of the planar front glass shaped substrate and the circumferential perimeter cut edge of the planar rear glass shaped substrate are processed to provide a circumferential rounded perimeter edge of the respective vehicular electrochromic mirror reflective element having a radius of curvature of at least 2.5 mm.
DOUBLE-LAYER SYSTEM COMPRISING A PARTIALLY ABSORBING LAYER, AND METHOD AND SPUTTER TARGET FOR PRODUCING SAID LAYER
A double-layer system includes a metal layer facing away from a viewer and a coating facing the viewer. In order to make the layer system production process as simple as possible and to provide a sputter deposition method that dispenses entirely with the use of reactive gases in the sputtering atmosphere or requires only a small amount thereof, the coating is in the form of an optically partially absorbing layer which has an absorption coefficient kappa of less than 0.7 at a wavelength of 550 nm and a thickness ranging from 30 to 55 nm.
Exterior mirror reflective element with auxiliary reflector
A mirror reflective element suitable for use in an exterior rearview mirror assembly of a vehicle includes a glass substrate having a first side and an opposing second side. The mirror reflective element has a principal reflector portion and an auxiliary reflector portion. The auxiliary reflector portion includes a curved recess established at the second side of the glass substrate. An auxiliary mirror metallic reflector is coated at the curved recess at the second side of the glass substrate and a principal mirror metallic reflector is coated at the principal reflector portion. The mirror reflective element is configured so that, when an exterior rearview mirror assembly equipped with the mirror reflective element is normally mounted at a side of a vehicle, the curved recess is disposed at an outboard upper region of the mirror reflective element relative to the side of the equipped vehicle.
MASK BLANK SUBSTRATE, MULTI-LAYER REFLECTIVE FILM COATED SUBSTRATE, AND MASK BLANK
The object is to provide a mask blank substrate, a mask blank, and a transfer mask which can achieve easy correction of a wavefront by a wavefront correction function of an exposure apparatus. The further object is to provide methods for manufacturing them.
A virtual surface shape, which is an optically effective flat reference surface shape defined by a Zernike polynomial, is determined, wherein the Zernike polynomial is composed of only terms in which the order of variables related to a radius is second or lower order and includes one or more terms in which the order of the variables related to a radius is second-order; and the mask blank substrate, in which difference data (PV value) between the maximum value and the minimum value of difference shape between a virtual surface shape and a composite surface shape obtained by composing respective surface shapes of two main surfaces is 25 nm or less, is selected.
Articles including anticondensation and/or low-E coatings and/or methods of making the same
Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to articles including anticondensation and/or low-E coatings that are exposed to an external environment, and/or methods of making the same. In certain example embodiments, the anticondensation and/or low-E coatings may be survivable in an outside environment. The coatings also may have a sufficiently low sheet resistance and hemispherical emissivity such that the glass surface is more likely to retain heat from the interior area, thereby reducing (and sometimes completely eliminating) the presence condensation thereon. The articles of certain example embodiments may be, for example, skylights, vehicle windows or windshields, IG units, VIG units, refrigerator/freezer doors, and/or the like.
