ANTIFOULING STRUCTURE
An antifouling structure of the present invention is produced by impregnating a base having a porous structure layer including micropores with a non-volatile liquid.
A relationship between an average opening diameter of the micropores and the number of the micropores per unit area of the porous structure layer satisfies the following formula (1). The non-volatile liquid retained in the porous structure layer can be sufficiently utilized, and antifouling property can be exhibited for a long time.
Average Opening Diameter (nm)Number of Micropores/100 (nm.sup.2)>0.6 nm.sup.1 Formula (1)
COLLOIDAL COATING DISPERSION
Disclosed are a colloidal coating dispersion containing electrochromic polymer particles, a method for manufacturing the colloidal coating dispersion, the use of the colloidal coating dispersion for depositing at least one electrochromic layer on a substrate, and an article including a layer deposited from the colloidal coating dispersion.
Composite material, method of forming the same, and apparatus including composite material
A composite material structure including a matrix material layer; and a plurality of one-dimensional nanostructure distributed in the matrix material layer and having an electrical conductivity which is greater than an electrical conductivity of the matrix material layer, wherein the plurality of one-dimensional nanostructures includes a first one-dimensional nanostructure and a second one-dimensional nanostructure in contact with each other.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING HETEROGENEOUS LIQUID BONDED COATING LAYER AND COATING LAYER AND COVER WINDOW PRODUCED THEREBY
Disclosed herein are a method of manufacturing a heterogeneous coating solution bonded coating layer, and a coating layer and a cover window produced thereby. More particularly, there are provided a method of manufacturing a heterogeneous coating solution bonded coating layer, in which a step difference at the boundary between different types of coating solutions is controllable by controlling a difference in capillary number during discharge of the different types of coating solutions using a slot die coater, and a coating layer and a cover window produced thereby. Therefore, the method of manufacturing a heterogeneous coating solution bonded coating layer can produce a cover window that is excellent in all the properties including durability, optical characteristics, and flexibility.
PHOTOCHROMIC MIXTURE, FORMATION METHOD AND APPLICATION OF PHOTOCHROMIC DEVICE
A photochromic mixture including a photochromic material and a thermosetting transparent polymer material, which are uniformly mixed and dissolved in a solvent, is provided. A formation method of a photochromic device based on the photochromic mixture and a light-transmissive head-mounted display device with the photochromic device are further provided. In the photochromic mixture, the change in the structure of the photochromic material under UV light and room light causes a significant change in its absorption spectrum so the color changes. This property is utilized for the benefits: First, the contrast of the head-mounted display device under strong light irradiation is improved. The display effect is enhanced. Second, the damage to human eye by UV light at the natural environment is reduced. Third, under the same optical requirement, the required energy consumption of self-light-emitting elements in the light-transmissive head-mounted display device is correspondingly reduced. It's more energy saving and environmental protecting.
Methods and apparatus for improving reliability of cover substrate against impact fractures
A substrate having inner and outer major surfaces, a plurality of edge surfaces, and a plurality of corner surfaces; and at least one of: (i) a coating applied over a limited area of the outer major surface of the substrate to produce a composite structure, (ii) an intermediate layer applied to the inner major surface of the substrate, and (iii) an elongate discontinuity disposed at one or more corners of the substrate, each of which operates to reduce catastrophic failures in the substrate resulting from a dynamic sharp impact to the outer major surface of the substrate.
Glass window having a luminous capability
Disclosed is a glass window having a luminous capability, which is suitable for use in automotive applications, architectural applications, or other applications. Exemplary embodiments of a glass window having a luminous capability include one or more glass sheet layers, a thin film layer having fine particles dispersed in a matrix of a thin film material, and at least one light source for introducing light into the thin film layer. The fine particles scatter the light and generate luminousness of the glass window. Exemplary embodiments of a glass window having luminous capability may further include one or more resinous sheet layers or one or more interlayers such as a plastic film layer.
