THROMBECTOMY DEVICE AND METHODS OF USE
20190133616 · 2019-05-09 ·

The device disclosed herein is used to the remove a thrombus from the vasculature. It includes an aspiration catheter and a thrombus retrieval device that extends through the lumen of the aspiration catheter. An expandable braided assembly extends over a distal region of the retrieval device, and an activation wire extends through the lumen of the retrieval device to attach to and control the expansion of the braided assembly. Applying tension to the activation wire causes the braided assembly to expand to a diameter of the practitioner's choosing. For example, the practitioner may apply a first level of tension to the activation wire to deploy the braided assembly to a first diameter and then later change the diameter by applying a different level of tension. The expanded braided assembly contacts the thrombus and is pulled proximally toward the aspiration catheter to assist in thrombus removal.

System and methods which remove material from blood vessel walls

Systems and methods for removing plaque from blood vessels by applying constant or time varying magnetic or electrical fields. In one embodiment a system includes winding configurations positioned about a central axis along which a body region may be placed. Each winding configuration generates a magnetic field in a direction which passes through the body region. A first winding configuration generates a first magnetic field component perpendicular to a second magnetic field component generated by a second winding configuration. In a related method for removing a deposit of plaque from a position along a wall of a blood vessel a magnetic field is applied which has a net direction predominantly orthogonal to the direction of the flow of blood through the vessel.

Multi-lumen intravascular catheter with inner converging lumens for multiple guidewire control

A multi-lumen catheter having a guidewire for each lumen, the catheter having a proximal-end assembly and an elongate tube including a multi-lumen medial portion and a distal-end portion. Each guidewire extends from the proximal end assembly through the medial portion to a lumen convergence portion which merges the lumens into a single output lumen. The distal-end portion includes (a) the lumen convergence portion, (b) an intermediate section surrounding the output lumen, and (c) a tapered tip surrounding the output lumen, with the diameter of each lumen of the multiple lumens other than the output lumen being sized to match the guidewire therein such that the guidewire is able to move therealong while being constrained laterally and remaining substantially coaxial with its lumen, and the diameter of the single output lumen being equal to the diameter of the largest diameter lumen of the multiple lumens.

Clot Retrieval Device for Ischemic Stroke Treatment

A clot removal device has a segment that has two main struts that serve as a frame for holding a plurality of secondary struts. Each of the two main struts has a proximal end that is connected at a proximal point of the segment and extends along a generally circumferential path, with each main strut terminating at a separate connecting point that is distal from the proximal point. The connecting points are connected to each other to form a generally tubular structure defining an inner lumen. The plurality of secondary struts forms a lattice of cells, with each cell surrounded by four secondary struts. Two generally straight distal struts are connected to the lattice of cells at a distal end of the segment, and are connected to each other to form a distal point. A distal opening is defined by the cells adjacent the distal struts, the distal opening communicating with the lumen and terminating at the proximal point.

Endoluminal device and method

An endoluminal device can be configured for precise positioning during deployment within a vessel. The endoluminal device can be a tack, stent, vascular implant or other type of implant. The endoluminal device can have circumferential member with an undulating configuration having multiple inward and outward apexes and struts extending therebetween. Two of the struts can be used to establish a foot for the precise positioning of the device during deployment. A method of placing the endoluminal device can include withdrawing an outer sheath such that a portion of the endoluminal device is expanded prior to the rest of the endoluminal device.
