Capsule Design for the Capture of Reagents
A method of using a gas control additive to provide gas migration control in a wellbore includes the steps of mixing the gas control additive with a cement to form a cement slurry, where the gas control additive includes a semi-permeable membrane and a scrubbing agent, such that the semi-permeable membrane forms a shell around a core such that the scrubbing agent is in the core, introducing the cement slurry to the wellbore, and reacting the scrubbing agent with an antagonistic gas to produce a helper byproduct, where the antagonistic gas migrates from a hydrocarbon-bearing formation into the wellbore and permeates through the semi-permeable membrane to the core of the gas control additive.
Structural energy-saving, heat-insulated and decorative integrated plate and manufacturing method therefor
Provided are a structural energy-saving, heat-insulated and decorative integrated plate and a manufacturing method therefor. The method includes: step 1: welding outer side keels, an inner side keel and a bottom keel into a wall framework; step 2: fixing an inner side decorative plate and an outer side decorative plate on the wall framework through shoot nails, and a hollow structure formed by the inner side decorative plate, the outer side decorative plate and the wall framework being a filling and pouring layer; and step 3: grouting the filling and pouring layer, to form a wall filled with cement foamed polystyrene particles. The present invention features a rational structure, manufactures an integrated wall plate with decorated inner and outer sides, and can replace patterns on the decorative plates. The integrated plate features energy saving, environmental friendliness, shock resistance, compression resistance, fire prevention, heat insulation and sound insulation.
Hybrid structural polymer-binder composite construction and paving material
A hybrid additive for use in construction materials such as asphalt and concrete is disclosed. The additive includes pellets formed of a plastic or polymer material, and one or more of fibers, pozzolans, nano-carbon tubes, glass, recycled asphalt shingles (RAS), liquid anti-strip, hydrated lime, rejuvenators, cementitious material, and ground tire rubber. Also disclosed are hybrid composite materials useful as paving and building materials, and methods of making the same. The hybrid additives were found to maintain the positive performance aspects of typical asphalt and concrete mixtures, while improving the performance of the mixtures by increasing bonding and strength within the mixtureand therefore increasing useable life and lowering costs.

A method for making a dry composite material that exhibits contraction in one or more dimensions when initially hydrated includes preparing a mixture of dry, compressible, hydrophilic polymer elements and hydrophobic, thermoplastic polymer, forming the mixture into a mat, heating the mat to a temperature that is greater than the melting-point of the hydrophobic, thermoplastic polymer such that the hydrophobic, thermoplastic polymer melts and forms a continuous phase around the compressible hydrophilic polymer elements, molding the hot mat into a desired shape, and cooling the mat to a temperature that is less than the congealing-point of the hydrophobic, thermoplastic polymer.
